Morning all, hope everyone had a nice bank holiday weekend! My last visit to the plot was last weekend to cover the beds with weed fabric after they'd had a good soaking, hopefully the soil there is warming up nicely now. I want to get back there a couple or few times this month before I plant out to prepare the chicken wire cages so they're ready to go and also have a bash at clearing more brambles and covering with plastic for what will hopefully be new beds for next year. Back in the great indoors I received my beans from Real Gorilla Seeds a week today (thanks @panik for the freebies!). Having had some disastrous germination success rates recently (my last attempt saw only 4 out of 12 ) I went back to the drawing board and decided against the simple method of simply sowing the dry bean in to compost and went instead with a 24 hour soak followed by another 24 hours in wet tissue and then sown the beans with taproots already emerged in to 80:20 Light Mix : Perlite. As of this morning I'm just waiting for 2 more to pop up out of the 24 sown - I'm really happy with that! I'm especially happy that all 12 of my first choice strains of Fast Lemon Cake and OPG x Freezeland have germ'd! Thanks again to @panik for throwing in the OPG x Fucktard and OPG x Zoap. Even if the last 2 don't germ' I still have twice as many seedlings as I have room for final plants to go out. Nice problem to have I guess, I'll pick the strongest looking plants to go the plot and plant the rest around town in LTN flower boxes etc.
