You may be able to get a prescription for some sativex at some point in the near future.
I read something a while back about NICE approving it for the NHS, so dependent on the whole postcode lottery primary care trust bollocks, you may be able to get this, not from your gp but a specialist that you see at the hospital.

I have been enjoying degenerative spinal disease (plus various other complications) for 20 years now, and am also on morphine plus oxycodne. My sympathies to you, degenerative back pain is most unpleasant, I know.
I find cannabis fairly useless as a pain killer.
But it does enhance the morphine, and it also takes my mind off the pain, which is nice.

I think I have...welll...not a disagreement with Arnold, maybe more a differing emphasis :unsure:

I, like you sir, smoke (and otherwise ingest) cpious amountd of weed. I really DON'T KNOIWwether I'm a 'medi user' or not. Guesss the ccert (and MRI amd bloodtests, consultant's examinations et al). Yes, this extensive apparatuss of medics betc would imply that everything I do hasn (OBVIOUSALY) a'medi' angle.

- back to Arnie and the eemphases - I fully concur that cannabis is the besst distraction in the world . In fact I can' even remember what different emphassis I would have placed (or wherer I woulda placed it :rofl:

- lewt's just agree that weeed id a beautiful distractant (iz that a word ?)

I think I'm trying to stretch worf=ds so as to define cannabis (very loosely) as an effctive 'painkiller' due to it's virtues asm a distractriong agent

did iu just say it's virtues asm a distractriong agent - uh yeah, does for me :smokin:

e2a

'pain' is a weird one, no-one 'understands' it. If I was gonna write a phgd about 'pain' I would hAVE A CHAPTER DEALINH WITH distraction AS A 'POAINBKIKLLER';

- there's another one bleedin bubbling :rofl: I have so many nascent theses - guess I'll be compost before any such grand works come out :rofl:

I too suffer from degenerative disc diesese also mild spinal canal stenosis and it can be a bugger at times , now im not as bad as others in my position take Arnold for instance that mans bloody robotic with what he`s been through if someone can lend an ear or advice on the matter it is he :yep:

I had epidural pain kiling injections in my epidural sac just located the other side of the spine in the Lumbar area , it has made life far better for me so much so im now back at work ( i work in construction so its pretty full on ) dont get me wrong its starting to wear off now but i can always go for another one , tis either that or a operation in the near future which i really dont want !

I think the point has already been made MJ is no painkiller but it certainly helps distract the mind at times even works well with other pain relief , however i have experianced bad affects from smoking some types of MJ regarding my back , its almost as if it emphisises the pain and pin points it out so it is strain dependent on the individul :yep:

Sorry to hear you suffer my friend i hope it levels out for you and you can be as comfortable as can be :D
