A lovely sight!

Back when I was was growing outside in Australia, rot wasn't something I'd ever even heard of. TBH rain wasn't something you heard about much either lol You had to make regular watering trips all the way through, just to keep them alive. UK weather's a bit different

How do all.. right I have a bit of an issue.. after putting all that fresh bud in the tent last night I decided to change the tube heater over to the oil rad.. wanted to raise the temp just a tad to perhaps get the rh down a bit.. now I went to the lockup in the early hours to check if I need to turn the rad up or down and check the temp.. now when I went to do this I stood outside the garage and I could clearly hear the extractor.. this i need to deal with thought.. I had originally hung it in the furthest corner of the tent and after reading about making these systems quieter it seems the fans are the issue.. with this in mind I decided to move the fan and filter to the floor so I could try to dampen the noise.. I wrapped the fan in some big old lined curtains I had stored in there.. I now realise it isn't the fan i can hear but the whooshing noise of the air being sucked through the c/f now im not sure what I can do hear aside from a small fan speed controller but from reading unless you spend a fair bit on 1 the cheaper ones make a buzzing humming sound..now maybe some of you indoor growers have some ideas for me?? I really need to get this sorted folks.. during the day with the general sounds of life going on, cars and other noises it seems ok but not in the dead of night.. this lockup in situated by a fire exit door so people will naturally be close to the lockup when leaving through the said door.. really would appreciate if anyone has some input on this as I'm a lil stuck on how to tackle the problem.. big thanks in advance for anyone that can help :yep:

Hi revive,  drobe grower here. My drobe's in my bedroom, it's almost silent.  The two adjustments i made to make it so were to fit a variac (no hum. 100 pounds but worth it for the silence) to reduce fan speed and to replace the metal ducting I first used with sound insulated ducting. I folowed advice to fit a length of ducting between the fan and the filter rather than just taping the two together. I found 500mm was enough, though a bit more may be better. Seems to stop fan noise tracking down to the filter.

Good luck

Ahhh mate all that way, growing next to a footpath and the bloody fan is giving you jip!!!!

Them cheap varispeed controllers are fine but they are just that mate. Cheap and fine. The buzzing is a really quiet buzz the plug itself make when you turn the speed down. It works like a dimmer switch rather than a fan controller but they do work. Wouldn't say they reduce the noise significantly though mate. Stick an electrical warning sticker on the door and a keep out sign lol.

Other than mate you could insulate? Around the tent or a layer inside the shed. Stop the sound travelling rather than trying to stop it altogether...

With the Volt Controller 500 watt , you can manage the speed of your extractor perfectly. Using this voltage regulator the speed of your electric motor is steplessly adjustable. You are also not bothered by annoying noise, like a hum.

Your extractor can be perfectly matched using the control wheel.

this together with a 500 cuub box.... a torin 500 cuub centrifugal ventilator box....at about 15 %  does the trick...

large.20210919_202752_compress71.jpg

you can adjust the net in height...so you can have 2 nets on top of eacht other...the layers are very far from each other........gives 50% more

or better....2 square nets fill the space more.....if you can get them in uk...

Looking for a slow dry hence i only did a rough trim.. I figure 10 days 2 weeks should be about right.. as I say I'm watching.. will prob get some moisture traps once a bit more bud is in there as im sure the rh will do up somewhat.. cant run to much power as the lenth of the cable is already about 120 meters.. so this will cause an issue if I run a dehumidifier as well as the exhaust fan and heater.. we shall see how we go mate.. some trays of cat litter will prob be used to so ill just do my best and keep a watchful eye.. if i can keep the rot and mildew at bay a slow dry is always the best bet

you can use this good stuff too...

1 kilo takes on 300 gram water....and you can re-use it as you like....

buy 2 kilo....and every day you can exchange it and dry it in your oven at home...or buy 10k   ......

dry its orange...and gets more dark to green if full of water...

Hey dude.. na the sticker would bring it on top for sure lol.. folk know its my lockup and there all powerless except mine now :ninja:

I just grabbed a ram varispeed plug in like you just mentioned and added that about an hour ago.. no buzz to the plug what so ever which is weird as the website even states they buzz.. but its sweet..turned it down a bit and its much quieter, not gone but dampened by about 30/40% just got to see if it compromises the scrubbing somewhat.. tweeking right now but hopeful.. did think about throwing some thick dust sheets over the tent but id really need to completely cover it for that to work I think.. there are bitmaps around the metal door and frame so that don't help..got an up and over door on it you know the ones.. gonna check in a few hours once most folk are home from work and have parked there cars in there garages.. will check for smell and prob tweek the oil rad depending on the temps and rh.. turning the exhaust down may not remove enough moist air now but asi say ill run a few checks as the day and eve moves on.. just hoping its ok dude..its better for sure but was sitting pretty before the controller was added.. tad warm at 22c but an acceptable 56% R/H 20c and 45/50% R/H would suit me but we can have it all under these circumstances so ill do my best buddy :yep:

Thanks for the input EarLobe :yinyang:

Gonna check that out but cat litter really does work in big trays too..  could get 8 of those nets in this tent i think  ut it would make access to everything pretty impossible..  so just got the 1 net in there to 1side and some strings the other for now.. thanks for throwing up the pics Dutch fox

Right a lil more action for you good folk.. well I say action more activity lol

Went back into my diary to check on some dates for a couple of autos that are left.. couldnt find the info I wanted on 1 but the lil runtz xl that is left on the knotweed plot is about 72 days for breaking soil.. she is the 1 that had been dug down the side of by what ever animal a while back.. she hasn't really been putting on any size but has looked to be maturing.. well I had a quick look up and realised she is supposed to be ready in 56 days from germ.. now I know some breaders talk a bit of cock and ball when I comes to this but with her being 2 weeks odd over that estimate I thought idcheck her through the scope.. this would explain why she seems to be maturing and her cylaxs have been swelling.. get to her and sure enough milky and a fair few amber trichs.. I guess when she got dug down on it affected her root system and this was pretty much confirm after I chopped her and pull up her rootball.. there was nothing of it really so this the lack of production.. well she was oozing resin just not much bud.. she had no rot on her i guess due to the lack of dense bud on her.. well shes chopped and in the tent and ifanything well go in the hash stash with anything else of low quality..  after I went to the auto plot.. needed to see this other auto and check if she had rotted or not.. she is well well over her time this 1 and a bit of a freek im my opinion.. had a quick look with the scope and she is nearly done.. plenty of milky but only the odd Amber..  1 week or so she be prime..no rot and some lovely bud on her.. all the rene golds were ok with still someway to go.. need to give these a lil love but its fuking awkward on this plot.. lots of yellow leaves to remove and ideally I want to remove some of the lower stuff and clear there underneaths..the fast zkittles on her is looking lovely too ..very heathygirl this 1, a propper lil picture she is.. moved on to my subbies now it was dark but after a quick feel 1 had some very solid buds on her.. scoped again and sure enough a week or so away just like the freek.. those 2 are next folks its just a question of when and how.. cant half trim onsite so not sure how im gonna roll with this.. if I bring it all to the tent and there is some rot on any then that's not a good thing with the other bud hanging in there.. cant see the rot in the dark either.. need to work that out..

Now the lockup.. all is fuking good here now infact when I arrived I wasn't even sure it was working and that was after opening the garage door.. all good in the hood im pleased with this now.. looked into the tent at the temps was only 19c but the rh was now 65%.. is turned down the heater a bit when adding the speed controller so obviously I needed to raise that a bit.. this should drop the rh a tad and then all is sweet id say..smell is still being scrubbed on the lower speed too so looks like with cracked it guys :yep:

Well its back to work for me in the morn after this bit of time off to sort the issues I had.. won't be able todo shit now till the weekend.. maybe those 2 girls on the auto plot will meet the scissors then cause if not it will be another week before i get another opportunity and i fear that will be pushing it weather depending.. well you lot ave a great week and ill catch you up with some more news on what went down and when..  keep it green y'all :yinyang:

Man sorry to hear about the noise issue, buds are looking amazing.. maybe you could grab a couple of cheap double duvets and chuck them over and around the tent. Sounds like the fan could be working too hard though, surely in a tent that size it wont take a major amount of pull to create negative pressure? Is there any way you can slow it down more?

Or just blast some reggae 24/7, no one will suspect a thing

Evening my fellow grow buddys.. bout that time again isn't it..well I have been struggling to get any free time to get shit done.. the weekend that just passed I had to work but did manage to get a couple of plot visits in on Sunday just not had the time to document it as of yet.. first stop was my main the knotweed plot.. was on rot patrol mainly due to the weather as im sure all us gorillas are at this point in the season.. now id love to say there was not a speck to be found but I did find a little bit on my big fast zkittles from the original plant out.. it was in the very top part of 1 of my main colas and another part on a smaller lower bud.. took the top of the main cola, only about 2 inches of it..i guess better the very top because if it was in the middle the whole bud would have been discarded.. I just removed the whole smaller bud tbh as im a lil funny about the shit getting in my body.. aside from that its a clean bill of health for these girls.. me affie the slug victim bless her is still getting some attacks here and there she is just showing some preflowers so nowt will come from her this late i wouldn't have thought.. she is much better looking but its not a  beauty contest im in it for the bud folks.. the rest, well all doing great  furthest along are my other purple freeze and 1 of my serious 6.. bothered wearing multipul monster colas and bearing up ok in the shitty weather.. 1 of my opg x freezland is gonna be interesting.. shes a big wide ass girl with what looks like some big very long colas forming.. if these join up into 1 as there all dotted about right now but you can see the structure they are staring to form ya no.. cant wait to see what she is gonna become its quite exciting considering these were freebies from panik with my order.. good heathy grow this season with all these girls now and my word its a lovely place to be when I'm there.. well look let's get some pics upfor you good folk so you get a better idea of what I'm talking about..large.20210926_190747_compress71.jpglarge.20210926_190745_compress15.jpglarge.20210926_185401_compress14.jpglarge.20210926_185212_compress92.jpglarge.20210926_185222_compress51.jpglarge.20210926_185228_compress86.jpglarge.20210926_185237_compress54.jpglarge.20210926_185113_compress55.jpglarge.20210926_185103_compress80.jpglarge.20210926_185043_compress20.jpglarge.20210926_185024_compress91.jpglarge.20210926_185005_compress11.jpglarge.20210926_184941_compress20.jpglarge.20210926_184938_compress10.jpglarge.20210926_184936_compress62.jpglarge.20210926_184929_compress65.jpglarge.20210926_184908_compress19.jpglarge.20210926_184911_compress46.jpglarge.20210926_184905_compress38.jpglarge.20210926_184813_compress74.jpglarge.20210926_184739_compress6.jpglarge.20210926_184726_compress48.jpglarge.20210926_184713_compress73.jpglarge.20210926_184708_compress20.jpglarge.20210926_184638_compress22.jpglarge.20210926_184622_compress86.jpglarge.20210926_184614_compress6.jpglarge.20210926_184524_compress5.jpglarge.20210926_184514_compress88.jpglarge.20210926_184424_compress97.jpglarge.20210926_183915_compress22.jpglarge.20210926_184058_compress42.jpglarge.20210926_184255_compress68.jpghaven't had the time to label them all up with so much going on but as you can see they are all at various stages from maybe 10 days/2weeks for some and 4/5 weeks even for some others.. latest will be the opg x freezland, both of these started late but are wide loaders size wise..

Gonna grab a beer and a banger and ill be back to update the second part of thateven when I visited the auto plot armed with bags and scissors and ready for action. :yep:

Great i still get to edit this post so I can just add the next visit here.. so in my last post I mentioned the 2 girls on this plot were at the milky trichs stage so it was almost time for them.. it was just the question of when and making a decision factoring on the weather that was forecast and the free time I had.. thought maybe this was gonna be the night so I armed myself with the nessaserrys and off I went into the dark night.. got to the my cash crop auto (the freek) first.. good fuking solid nugs on this girl now rock solid infact and she is packing some shit guys let me say that.. well I looked at her and kept changing my mind if to chop or not.. then thought fuk it and I literally had the scissors around her neck before thinking about available space in the drying tent... there was none, well i had space yes but it wasnt set and ready and by now it was after 3am so I carefully put down the weapon and she lived lol

Next was a quick check on my rene gold clones.. these are fighting on.. they don't get a lot of care at this plot due to the circumstances and location so thereafter to do there thing..most of those look about 4 weeks away id say, buds are still small and airy but there doing ok.. the fast zkittles was also very healthy, not a scratch on this girl she's pretty as picture bout 3/4weeks away again id say.. now its the subbies that are left here its one of these that was close to the chop last visit.. its the smaller 1 of these exo mob spurts that is furthest forward and after scoping her she was showing a few ambers.. well she did infact get harvested that very night.. not a massive yield but some real nice rock hard nugs.. fuking solid they are.. smells really funky this 1 so be interesting to see what she turns out like.. cant put my finger on it just now but much different to her sister.. shes quite sweet and sour in smells.. well I learnt a new skill trimming by silhouette.. fuk that was no joke ill be dreading the rest on here as she was fairly small.. she ended upon the bottom shelf of the drying net in the tentonce I got home.. I did snap a cheeky shot of my cash crop with the flash as it was already really late still chance but least you get to see her.. large.1632621423679_compress82.jpgwell that about wrapped that eve up, there's more to come so ill get it done tommorow so we are up to date... for now keep it green folks..ill be back to get you up to speed tommorow :)
