Always worth spending the extra few quid mate, you'll burn those cheap ones out before you know it... There's plenty out there made for purpose between the £10-20 mark. I use the LUMII 24hr heavy duty timers, on amazon for £10, they've always been good for me and rated for 600w each :yep:

I use two that look like this, no brand name to them, about 10er each or cheaper. They are rated to 3000w 13A.  Super easy to program and turn on/off if needed.

Shite. So many people having issues with these. A standard product from any hardware store does it for me. Canna companies trying to screw more cash with inferior products.

I just bought a triple pack of cheap plug in timers by Pro-Elec. I was pissed off at not being able to use the socket on the power strip next to the timer I was previously using.

So far I'm delighted. Compact and noticeably more accurate than the previous. It didn't really matter that much but the old one drifted over time by quite a bit.

I've got two spares. Thought I'd donate one to a mate who's planning to start growing. One of three that I got for less than a tenner. Generous fucker I am!

What issues are people having man? I've used them for years and never had a problem with them so far, as purely light timers at 1 per light, I can't fault them. Each to their own though, everyone has differing experiences I suppose.

I've had one die after a month of use.  Seen many others reporting similar.  I just prefer using everyday firms that have been specialised in making this stuff for decades, rather than over-priced and inferior canna equivalents.

Fair enough if that was your experience man, I've had mine for a few years now and haven't had one die yet, same 3 I've always used but I've only ever used them for 1 600w hps each so that could be why? Also, I think £9.99 is quite reasonable, each to their own :yep:

I saw the lumi ones on Amazon. Look like they will do trick. Wondering whether its gonna die though like fatboy said... if it failed on me one day I probably wouldnt even notice till 10pm at night when I'm back from work

Anyone else had issues with these?

If you look on the instructions it will tell you the rating in amps. There are normally 2 ratings stated, one will be resistive load normally the bigger rating and the other inductive load normally the smaller load. Most lights are inductive and not pure resistive. The high startup current will be much higher that the rating stated and burns the contacts out.

Just a thought if they're rated at 600w, and fatboy used a 600w hps... I heard that hps actually draws more like 660w so then it would be above their stated capacity no?

Mine was rated for over a thousand Watts and had about 700w through it.
