Licence secured for first UK medicinal cannabis distribution centre

hi

Licence secured for first UK medicinal cannabis distribution centre

Spectrum Therapeutics has secured licences for the first UK medicinal cannabis distribution centre.

Spectrum Therapeutics UK received licences from the UK Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) and Home Office to store and distribute cannabis-based medicinal products (CBMPs). The first-of-its-kind facility based in the UK, will aim to reduce prescription delivery time. The licence also allows the company to import CBMPs to the UK directly from Spectrum’s European and global network, optimising its supply chain and reducing overheads, without need for third-party suppliers.

Cosmo Feilding Mellen, Managing Director, Spectrum Therapeutics UK, said: “Medicinal cannabis has been available in the UK as an unlicenced special for nearly twelve months, and in that time, industry has faced the challenge of establishing a new UK infrastructure to meet the needs of patients.

“We are delighted to have been granted licences from both the MHRA and Home Office in order to provide a solution to one of the most significant barriers for access in the UK. We are actively working with regulators to find the best way to ensure we can deliver continuous treatment to patients within the framework that exists.”

Spectrum Therapeutics UK passed a rigorous preliminary inspection from the MHRA to receive a licence. Going forward, the company will be actively engaged in quality and process improvements relating to medicinal cannabis through regular inspections. The company will continue to work closely with the MHRA and the Home Office to maintain the agreed terms, ensuring that CBMPs can be stored at volume in the UK under the highest standards of practice.

IT HAS NOT BEEN LEGALIZED IN THE UK, its ONLY been legalized for companies like you from Canada with a UK front in Oxford! this is a Canadian company! there is nothing British about it!

Am still waiting for this so-called Legislation for the little people to be able to grow for themselves and make there own medications also what about small business like bud Buddies and jeff why can they not do the same job after all Bud Buddys is more established than some new upstart company like Spectrum Therapeutics ?

Once again Big Compnays have all the say and the little people have nothing! typical UK Gov thinking! :soap:

This will get worse for the little people in time as...

Because there is a loophole in the law it allows a company that is not based in the UK to prescribe cbpm to anyone here that has a medical condition associated with cannabis, they can only prescribe from their country but as UK citizens we are allowed to bring in our prescribed cbpm this includes having a third party act on your behalf like a carer. So technically if you were to sign up to a company that has experts to prescribe like they do in Canada and the USA then that company can actually both grow for you and they can also supply you. Now because we can legally store products then they will have an international doctor in-house who can prescribe based on their experience and your condition.
im surprised that this has took this long for someone to set up shop but the facilities and research centres are the realistic way of being granted any sort of licence to grow cannabis as we can only prescribe cbpm here if the product passes Mhra trials.

all in all this is a step forward as none on here could probably put this type of thing together, I have tried and you need to know the right people I haven’t failed just having a record makes it difficult so I have recently sent a proposition to set up using industrial hemp and then I can try move forward into medical and recreational if this comes off.... bit of blabber there but serious this is good news for us all as we haven’t had any movement of medical cannabis for a while now so for me this is progress as they have set the bar now and I’m sure others will want to follow. Changes are upon us

all for business sake.. not for healing, not for the love of the plant and wanting to help people but for the love of the green back, and profit!

this/these ‘legal’ companies will want tighter laws and higher fines regarding people growing at home too..

CANNABIS POST-

Since recreational cannabis became legal on Oct. 17, 2018, the shares of what were then the 10 largest Canadian cannabis producers by market capitalization have been bludgeoned, yielding an average negative return of more than 57 per cent for investors.

Tilray Inc. alone has lost more than $14 billion in market cap, and Aurora Cannabis Inc. has shed $6.8 billion. Six of the Top 10 have lost at least half their value, with scandal-plagued CannTrust Holdings Inc. suffering such resounding losses that it no longer appears in the list

ffs, old skool cheesy quavers have been able to turn a profit on growing weed for the last 30-40 years, bring in the suits and they feck it up! lol

It's the same that has happened in parts of the USA the Big companies are making less money on the stock market because of Big Companies as Stoners dont like big companies because stoners prefer small inventive shops and they prefer inventive places instead of big corporate one weed fits all shite and all same packages in other words stoners dont like robotic stuff and life, when these states where all small business and family outlets they where making profit since these Boring Companies pushing everyone out, now that are making it all go down the pan.

What these companies dont take into account is cannabis is a way of life its a culture that likes to keep evolving, it's not about JUST MONEY and robotic live style it does not sit well with stoners most of the time stoners have there own music even old or new as a culture,  its not a machine like Apple or Windows  that's why Amsterdam has done well it's all small and intermit. this brings it to the next point Once USA go full coffee shop outlets that's when things change as this is how most people on the planet see cannabis in cafes with friends and meeting new ones the dispersity is totally different as only a person with medical doctors notes can get it, they have the monopoly on it, once cafes come into play its for everyone and the price competition will begin and get cheaper, and cheaper means more money for the state, if big cafe companies come alone they will not last long for the same reasons as above!

Ask most stoners do they like big companies most will say no!

The USA Big Money Man got it wrong and fucked it up for everyone else, remember less is more! Look at Israel and Amsterdam and others for how to do it successfully,

In other words for stoners make it intermit and cultural as stoners have history and philosophy like and other cultures on the planet.
