Smscom 4.5amp + 2 x RVK 4inch 100E2 Fans.

Hi,

I'm looking for a quiet non buzzy controller and I want to test the smscom 4 5amp twin MK2, and upscale to the Hybrid if it doesnt work.

However, I've no idea what the 4.5 amp thing relates to... this is why I worry about blowing up or setting fire to the house.

Can I run 2 x RVK 4inch 100E2 Sileo fans, using 3amp cables and plugs, through the SMSCOM 4.5amp MK2 twin controller?

I think I need to retrain as an electrician...

Nearly complete with the set-up. Just need little bits and then ready to crack on! Yey. :)

2 x 4" fans will be fine plugged into a sms controller i think when you start using big 10" fans ect then the power could go past the 4.5 amp rating

works out about 500 w per fan max off top of my head :)

You'll be fine as both fans only use about 0.15A each & are well with in the controllers ampage rating, your only problem will be If the controller causes fan him.

Amps = Watts / Voltage

Example

100w fan / 230v = 0.43 amp

E2A

Quick google shows your fan is 29.1w

A 4.5amp controller limit at 230v would be 1035w

Thank you for all your answers, that helps for sure.

I'm going to get the controller and hope there's no hum! Dont really want to spend £280 quid on the upgrade if I can help it. :)

Have you looked at the GSE Range as a comparison? I managed to get one at a knockdown price by price matching against Ace Hydroponics.
