cheap cfl

does any one know what size cfl i would have to use to veg some plants i have a 600 watts hps in my other tent but got a small 30x30x120 so im wanting to use that as my veg tent

@starfishWhat exactly are you hoping to achieve in your vegging space ?

These days I veg for 8 weeks from seed and I give my plants the maximum light they can take all the way through. At the very least, the last two weeks of vegging is in the flowering position under the flowering light.

I guess the 250watt as @H4rdc0r3 suggests - give em as much as they can take!! Might be a struggle keeping the heat down from that in a 30X30X120, though... You could probably run a 150HPS or MH instead of a a 250cfl and get about the same heat.

 

I'm using a similar size footprint for holding clones until I can move them - not sure I'll get a lot done in terms of training while they veg there though, imo its too small for more than one well trained plant and I have four in there, so, for me, its really just a holding pen for a few weeks...

I used to use 2 x 125w CFL's in a 1m tent and that was perfectly adequate for my needs. I only vegged for about 4 weeks max though. As cultivateur says, it depends on what you want to achieve.

I find a 125w in me little veg box about perfect. (22"x23"x24"). :0)
