Club Biscuits

21 posts in this topic

Anyone else remember the jingle for these back in the day:

"If you like a lot of chocolate on your biscuit, join our club"

Well, even if you don't remember, don't buy them, as there is fuck all chocolate on them these days. And they aren't made by Jacobs anymore either - fuck you McVities.

GRR - sorry, its Sunday

But they were until last week £1 for six in my local Sainsburys. Now the offer is on similarly shrunken Toffee Crisps (Four for £1). I am prepared to forgive a lot under these circumstances.

I remember the advert. I had an interesting purchase of a pack of twirls yesterday for a pound. They seem to have shrunk. Must be half an inch shorter than I remember.

I have no faith in traditional chocolate snacks any more. The chocolate itself seems to have changed, and there's less of it to boot.

Some childhood favourites should never be gone back to, cos you ruin the memory. I had a Wagon Wheel a while back and it was fucking disgusting. The brown stuff on the oustide wasn't chocolate, or anything even approaching chocolate and the experience of eating it was like munching through two discs of cardboard stuck together with wallpaper paste. I used to love Wagon Wheels as a kid :sadwalk:

I used to love those Viscount minty biscuits. Mint clubs were good too.
