  1. Hello and welcome to my competition diary.. I have decided to enter this competition as I have a few strains from sweet seeds that have been gnawing away at my sub conscious- go on Billy,..... try them …...it says, you know you want to.....and I do...….so I am...... strains in question are a few of Sweet seeds best performers. I have chosen Black jack, cream caramel and Sweet afghan delicious s1, all of which I have wanted to do for a good while, but never got round to. Heres the contenders, limbering up in the background Black Jack Crossbreed of our Black Domina with an exceptional Jack Herer that features a pleasant and intense bouquet similar to the Haze’s cathedral incense aromatic trait. The result is Black Jack® (SWS01), one of our most powerful and productive strains. This classic strain features great hybrid vigor and it is totally adapted to indoor grows. When planted outdoors, directly in the ground and with enough sunlight, it becomes a resinous hairy monster of about three meters of height.Indica/Sativa: 50%/50%THC: 16-21% · CBD: 1,0%Indoor Yield: 500-600 g/m2Indoor Blooming: 9 weeks Cream caramel This synthetic strain is the result of a three way cross between our best Indicas: Blue Black x Maple Leaf Indica x White Rhino. This classic strain features a sweet intense taste that is reminiscent of caramel, combined with a hint of earthy flavors inherited from the Blue genetic that intervenes in the cross. This strain is ideal for indoor growing. This strain is the favorite of medicinal cannabis users. Relaxing and antidepressant. Indica/ Sativa: 90%/10%THC: 15-20% · CBD: 1,6%Indoor Yield: 400-550 g/m2Indoor Blooming: 8-9 weeks Sweet Afghan Delicious s1 Self-pollination of one of our most powerful and aromatic mothers, a Black Domina selected in 1998.The self-pollination of this super mother produces dense buds covered by abundant resin. This strain features sweet intense aroma and a musky flavor inherited from its afghan ancestors. This S1 seed allows for a very homogeneous offspring regarding the described characteristics. Easy to grow and very resistant to pests and fungus. Indica/Sativa: 90%/10%THC: 15-20% · CBD: 1,8%Indoor Yield: 400-500 g/m2Indoor Blooming: 8-9 weeks And so to the plan . The plan is to wet 2 of each strain and hope hey all sprout nicely for me. I will play them music and sing sweet melodies to them to increase my chances. For those of you who have been fortunate enough to miss my previous ramblings, my system of growing is HYDRO, using a home made RDWC system with top fed spray bars and airstones. Its been developed by myself over the years and is working pretty well now, altho, as with most things, it could be improved. Here it is. I wont bore you to tears with the lowdown on it, but will condense it to say the totes are 60 litres, the net pots 250mm, the airpumps are 60litres, 2 golf ball airstones per pot, chiller is hc300 hailea, and the water pumps are 4000litre for the 4 pot side and 8000 litre for the 5 pot side. Nutrient line is Ionic, used for years and good enough for Heath Robinson (my hero...………...swoon....lol)…... im actually repairing a leak on it today, or at least that was the plan, but the section I cut out, I tested it and no leaks, so I just put it back, with new joint connectors. I will leave the glue to set and trial fill it tonight, with everything crossed. So once the system is cleaned and leak free, we will wet some beans . Can you feel the excitement? I can...…………. So take a seat, skin up a fat one, and hold on for the ride...….

  3. Ladies and Gents - Welcome to my Sweet Seeds diary! I'll attempt to make the best out of the 12 strains I've selected for this grow. Here the 9 photoperiod strains Here the 3 automatic strains I'll be growing them in compost and will be using mostly Biobizz products along the way. In total, there will be 20 plants (12 photos and 8 autos) At some point, the plants will be divided into 2 grow spaces. The automatics will be growing under 20h light with a 400w bulb. While the photoperiods will get the bigger space with 600w light. I've placed them all into germination yesterday and hope the will show their heads in the next couple of days. Thanks again to Sweet Seeds for hosting another great competion and providing us with their delicious strains - Good luck to all the other competitors!
  4. 2018/19 Sweet Seeds Comp Hello sweet people, and thanks for stopping in to my Sweet Seeds Competition diary. I'm really excited to be a part of this comp, and it's already lining up to be a good one. I'm hoping it will inspire me to get on top of my growing again having had an up and down 6 months, indoors and out. Some well loved characters are already up and running too. I look forward to watching all your grows and getting to know you all that bit better As ever, a massive thanks to all those involved in making this comp happen, and good luck to all those entering. Sweet Seeds were kind enough to send me 3 packs of 3 (with 4 seeds in each) to grow out for this comp. Depending on timing, i will probably chuck some more into the mix to keep things till the end. I chose Creme Caramel, Black Jack and Creme Mandarin Auto. Having never grown SS stuff befor, it was a hard choice! The first two have always seemed like old favourites to me. I've only ever read very good things about them and often see people raving about how delicious and strong they are. I've also got a sweet tooth so i've always fancied the creme caramel. Not gonna lie, the Auto was a slight mistake I had it in my head the comp went on longer than it does, and i was gonna grow the auto's outside. Realising i havn't got time, i'm going to grow them inside, obviously It's actually worked out quite well. I'm still a bit of a sceptic with auto's and have had limited success with them, indoors and out. But i'm keen to be proven wronge. Again i've only heard and seen good things about Sweet Seeds Auto's, so i'll give them my best go and remain open to being convinced Going to give them extra special treatment, and make them my focus. Wheras i normally just chuck them in to fill space during veg. @teehee @blackpoolbouncer I'm roughly combining your styles with these auto's mates, so feel free to chip with advice and point out anything you would/n't do. I might even chuck some pollen on them too For those that don't know me, I've been around the boards for a while. Used to be @tigseyjnr, but had a bit of a scare. It was unwarrented, but i'll stick with this account now. I'm in the process of setting up a new grow space in the smaller section of an old mill, with thick stone walls and a concrete floor. Work in progress, but it's effectivly a mezzanine made out of larch and other scraps, with the grow space underneath I'm venting out of a discrete window, with active and passive intakes coming from inside the building. Potentially a very stable environment, but it's not finished, and not dialled in yet. My narnia ... (eventually, those boards will be sanded up, and the crappy, treated wood will be swapped with larch. But it's all cosmetic. I just had to get these tents out of sight asap) This door opens up into an area approximatly 1.6m x 4m x 2m . I've got my two roofqubes in there at the moment, and a veg cab for mums and cuts. Eventually i'll pull the tents out and have proper individual, insulated rooms, but that's all a way off yet. For now, i'm happy with my tents.. Both have adjustable 600w HPS with parabolic shades. 6" rvk's, 6" mountain/carbo air filters, electric blankets and decent fans for air movement. Only got one sms controller at the moment. The little veg cab just has 10w t4's in.. but i 'm probably not even be using this as i'm cracking straight on with the autos under hps. I've done a bit of rearranging which means this tent is now free I popped all 4 creme caramel straight into 10ltr pots. They are under 250w hps, that will be turned up to 400, then 600 as they grow. I watered in the whole pot as I dont like watering small sections. I'll pull the cling film off as soon as they show. I shouldn't need to water again for ages As you can see, the electric blanket doing it's job (the lights had only just come on). a steady 24'c at the pots lights on and off. I dont bother taking temps anywhere else. It was bloody cold outside too I hate having empty floor space, (one of my pet hates about this style of growing autos) so i've got a few other things along side for now And the fun begins In all my grows i will be using these bits.. A compost based on coco coir and EWC. It's properly lush, straight out of the pack, available locally, no peat, and only £6 a pack. My favourite garden centre matey keeps it under cover for me too It's perfect for young plants and seedlings, but not very high in food, so i have to introduce feed after a week in the final pots. Other than that, fungi, root stim, biobizz fishmix and bloom and that's it. I do have epsom salts and harkers as back up but hopefully wont be needing them (famous last words ). Thanks again for stopping in. I'll be back with some pic's when the plants are growing Nice one SSSSSSSSSSSSwwwwwwwwwwwweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeetttttttttttttttt!!!!

  16. Well here we go I've received a DHL Parcel this morning with the Sweet Seeds hardware Paper work included with zero cost how can this be this is truely awesome on it's own without all the other things that go along with a Comp of this magnitude As we can see I've opted for Jack 47 Black Jack and also Ice Cool but I'm hoping I've not made a slight rookie error not opting for the F versions being as I'm a late'ish entry but on the plus side I ran Jack 47 the last time I was able to grow a couple of years ago and she was a beauty and a pleasure to grow and smoke. A quick run down of the plan ahead... I'll be growing in Canna Coco hand watered. I might chuck a Mother tent together to Veg these ladies as my first big tent has some Ladies in final pots which are rooted out and itching to be flipped. I intend to Germ all 9 of these Seed Seeds offerings asap in straight Coco which I might precharge with a bit of this and that. So untill the next update and the point of no going back I wish everyone in this bad ass Comp all the good fortune possible and major props to the Sweet Seeds crew!! PS.. Hopefully I don't make a right hash of this on my post's as i'm getting familiar with the whole Diary concept but do know my way round a PC and my phone which will be used for all picture taking. Any pointers will be gratefully accepted.
