Hi everyone I know similar threads exist about light timing and what is best but I don’t want to start that debate here. I currently have a light on 24/0 I would like to be on 20/4 but my lights only have options for being on 12,14,16 or 18 at a time. My question is this: does anyone have any experience or ideas on what would happen if I had 2 lights with lower intensity one coming on at say 8AM and the second coming on at 10AM both on a 18/6 cycle so the 8am would turn off at 2am and the 10am at 4am. This would create the 20/4 but with 4 hours reduced light intensity, somewhat like a natural sunrise and sunset Any thoughts welcomed :))

I’m going to be growing 4 plants using AutoPots in a 5x5 grow tent. Unless anybody thinks a different sized tent would work better? I want to use bar style LED lights and not really interested in QBs. So any bar style suggestions would be great. I’ve read that I should be aiming for 40 watts of power per square foot meaning that I’d need a 1000w LED in a 5x5 space. Is this correct? My issue is that I can’t actually find a 1000w LED that physically fits a 5x5 space. I really don’t know what to do here. I was about to pull the trigger on a Lumatek Zeus 600w Pro 2.9 but I’ve realised that isn’t going to be enough wattage for a 5x5 area. They have a 1000w but it’s far to big to fit in the area. Can somebody please answer this for me as simply as possible as I really am stuck here and don’t want to waste a ton of money on the wrong LED.

Hi guys, got a question about germination. Read everywhere it should be done in the dark. But when you have planted several seeds, they don't necessarily sprout the same day. So what you guys are you doing when one or two have sprouted and the others still are in the soil ? You just put the light on without changing anything or do you take the pots with dormant seeds out of the tent ?

I have a 2.4m x 1.2m x 2m tent and only 2 wall sockets, each socket has an extension lead plugged in. currently only running 2 x mars hydro ts600 for veg with a total power draw of Just over 100w each. for flowering I’m filling one side of the tent with 2 mars hydro ts600 and putting a 600w digital hps in the other side, (potentially removing the LEDs and replacing with Another 600w hps if safe to do so) so my question is would it be safe for me to use the HPS’s or am I risking a fire? I’ve read that a extension lead should hold 3000 watts so I shouldn’t have a problem but wanted to ask just to be safe, checked my fuse board and the maxiumum amp for the house is 100a

Please can anybody advise. Is it possible to use 2 600w bulbs instead of a single 1000w bulb to cover the same area. If so would they be better next to each other or spaced apart. Also what height should they be . Tia:)

Evening everyone, hope everyone’s enjoying the banging weather. Just a quick one. I’ve recently germinated my first seeds via paper towel method for the rgsc comp and the seeds have gone under my T5’s (60 hours later). They’ve been under the lights since midday today, and the plan was to run 15/9 to mimic the sunlight they will get outdoors in 3 weeks time. This will mean my lights are on at midday til 3am. I jumped the gun this morning as some of my taproots were a little longer than I would’ve hoped so I wanted them under lights ASAP. As I did this so hastily, I didn’t really take into account that the lights will be on until 3am (severe gangover, not thinking straight). I should’ve planned ahead and checked them at 6;30am in case they were ready for the 7am start. My first question is, can I ‘reset’ the times I have currently set? In hindsight I would’ve wanted them to come on at 7am and turn off 15 hours later at 10pm. Will resetting and changing the hours of light now, ruin/stunt/stress the plants? None are above soil yet, of course. If it is possible & safe for them, what’s the best way to do it? Leave them on until 3am then off for 4 hours and start again with a new routine at 7am? Or another way? I hope I haven’t messed up too much, and I hope that the above makes sense. Feeling anxious about this one but first time and all so I guess it’s to be expected! Hope to hear back from someone soon so I can relax! GB

Hi guys, Firstly glad to join your community , thanks for having me I've heard good things. I have just started my first grow and thought I'd start a thread to share my experience. . . . and maybe ask for some guidance if that's ok? My setup is a 1.2mx1.2m and 2m tall budbox, RVK Extractor with PK Carbon filter (filter not attatched yet) .At the moment just a desk top fan pumping air into a bottom vent flap ( room well ventilated) I have an adjustable digital ballast with a 600w dual spectrum bulb for both veg and flower. I am growing in a 70/30 Coco/perlite mix, with Vitalink Coir Max nutrients. A RAM air humidifier with Therm and hygrometer. currently at 25°c in day and 19°c at night , lights on 18/6 with RH at around 65%. I will be managing PH levels , if I need to start taking a PPM count I will, but hoping to just have good control over my climate and nutrients and read my plant well to spot deficiancies and toxicities. I have already planted 2 kush seeds from a smoke I had a while back, just to play around (I'll be keeping an eye as I have zero idea if they are male or female). I have also just germinated and sprouted successfully 1 Cherry Bomb and 1 Atomic Bomb from bombseeds, both feminized. These were planted roughly 10 days apart, I'm hoping to spot any signs of the Kush being male before it becomes a problem , ( a few weeks away I know but any advice on that appreciated). I have not yet fed anything other than 1Ml/l of Plant start and a very small (1ml/l) dosage of root stim. I will slowly up this and introduce 2 part nutrients after first transplant. Curious as the what level a freshly sprouted seedling can handle under HPS. I have it on an adjustable ballast, 250 , 400, 600 and 650. I have the light currently held at about 140 cm or 55 inches. Seedlings can tend to reach for the light if they are not receiving enough. Shall I leave my light at 250W or move up to 400? Thanks! JPC420 I will post photos when I find out how to looool

about to start my first grow! just put a bag seed in some soil and it sprouted so thought id have a go at growing some plants properly. I bought 3 feminized autoflowering diesel kush seeds which sounded like a easy grower, and got two free auto OG blueberry seeds, but wandering what the best balance equipment to yield would be? I dont necessarily want to grow all 5 at first, maybe just 2 or 3, and don't mind not getting the biggest yields but yeh would love to be able to get at least a decent yield. I dont mind spending a bit, but dont want to want to spend loads. i do have a south east facing kitchen with big glass sliding doors which probably get about 5 or 6 hours direct sunlight everyday, but i also have a loft/cupboard under the stairs and would be willing to set up something basic if that amount of natural lights not gunna cut it. Also id rather not be using huge amounts of electricity which is why ideally any light set up would be minimal. any advice hugely appreciated! Thanks in advance

Hi, there probably is the info somewhere, but couldnt find it but just got a couple questions regarding my first grow! i basically just found a few bagseeds, from a while ago planted 3, and 1 has actually come along really nicely! just transfeered into a bigger pot as it outgrew the first! First question is, my garden is south east facing and gets probably a solid 6 hours of direct sunlight a day, from behind some sliding glass doors, which is definitely doing the job for now. my main question is, am i headed for trouble once in the vegetative stage? ive read they requite a lot more light, some people leaving them on 24 hours of artificial light. I have a super bright LED bulb to stick in the cupboard in case, its basically 16W (equivalent to 140W halogen, 1600 lumens) it also says day light 6000k on the box (not sure what that means), is this going to help? will this be any good for flowering as well or am i best just moving it to my glass doors for the day then sticking in the cupboard. also would moving it out of a cupboard, everyday the fact its 1 cool LED negate the need for a fan? also bought 5 real deal feminized auto flowering seeds, will they be almost as simple as letting the them chill by my glass doors? Thanks and sorry if all this info is out there somewhere this just seemed simple. heres a few photos of the plant and the spaces i have to grow (just waiting for the beer to finish brewing in the bigger cupboard then gunna obviously clear it out) just for a reference. Anyway if anyone does have any reassuring words or advice to improve my success, it'd be much appreciated! Im just looking to get some nice smokeable bud without spending a fortune on kit Thanks in advance and hope everyones having a chilled, healthy time!

Just been thinking when it comes to flower time would it be beneficial to chuck a hps in with My PAR+550 if I can keep the temps in check. I’m in a 1.2 budbox and my PAR+550 unit is set to the recommended height but lights on temps are ranging from 23/25. Might give it ago when the time comes. what’s the highest wattage lights people have run in this size tent? Let me here your opinions/experiences cheers

Just a quick one not sure if this is in the right section. I’m after some help regarding plugging to 2xPAR+275 into one timer is it safe to do so? this is the sort or thing I’m talking about so both plugs into this and then into a single 600watt timing contractor. thanks in advance.

Hello, need help! I am on a budget and gonna run 90cm x 60cm x 160cm tent with probably 8 girls in 2gal pots and I want max I can get. I need somewhat round 400gr per harvest. Let's say my max budget about 150£. I can get VIPARSPECTRA V600 which is 250Watts for 90-100 quid, plus I have another vipar R300 (~120Watt) and I got around 0.8g per watt on my first run with vipar and loads of fails, so... I started looking to those cheap COB's, one's on amazon Hipargero 800W which doesn't cost too much too... Good reviews and so, but I am afraid that vipar can perform better (good reviews and my results too). I was looking at qbs but 240Watts qb are too expensive atm, maybe for next grow or smth like that... Or maybe it's possible to build something by myself quickly and more efficient ant silent for that amount of money? Thank you people!!!

Hello I am new to growing and try to figure what light to use I need it to be silent du to neighbors Reading about led light is confusing,,, Will the quality of the weed be good using led lights? The quantum is not that important. From what i know at the moment i am going to buy migro 300 lights. I know expensive, but that is not a issue at the moment Any one?

Hello all. I've been growing for a little but feel I'm getting nowhere near what I should be. I'm using a 2m x 1.2m tent with a 600w bulb and have roughly been getting 6oz per harvest. I was thinking of switching to LED lights so was hoping somebody exoerienced could give me some tips/advice on what I should except and how to get it. I am willing to invest to get better but I'm not sure where I should be starting. Any help I could get would be gratefully appreciated. Thanks

Hello, I am looking for the best reflectors to cover 2m per square, on each meter I want finally 3 plants in scrog. Do you think Adjust-A-Wings Avenger is really worth the price? I could buy two parabolic reflectors for the same price like one Avenger so please advise me if it is worth it?

Hi guys! Super excited to grow my own bud! Been reading this forum for a little while which has been very helpful but thought I would start my own topic for some personalized help. Right! So... I have just purchased my seeds (LowRyder #1 They didn't have and #2s) and tent which is a 60x60x140. I am now looking for recommendations for Lights, fans & filters. Once I get the whole setup sorted then I will then start looking into what soil, nutrients etc that i will need any recommendations on those would be amazing too! The budget for the lights, fans & filter is around £120 if that helps?! Light wise I would like to keep the heat/electric bill low don't fancy a knock on the door haha! Looking forward to talking with you (Supper excited for this, has took me 3years to convince the Girlfriend!!) and getting some answers! *Just to add I will be growing 1 plant maybe two but no more than that, Can you grow from start to finish with a full spec LED? I recently bought this grow tent and need advice on what else to buy, there are many bundles for sales with fans, lights etc but they are really expensive What would you recommend? Hi all, im new to the forum and excited to be here, a friend @maverick40band I are looking to start up a personal grow and are looking for some good advice/ information, we are fed up with unreliable, poor quality or overpriced products out there and would like to have a clean tasty reliable source of our own. At the moment we are completely undecided on the best way to set up our tent. Hydroponics or soil grow? Potsizes? Light types? Fan/ extractor sizes? Nutrients? We are looking at a 1.2 x 1.2 x 2.4 tent and would like to grow 8 plants, is this tent adequate for the quantity and if so what equipment is needed to setup the tent to achieve a perfect grow environment? We do have some ideas of our own but would like some fresh ideas from experienced growers to compare notes and to see if we are on the right lines. I won't tell you what we have in mind as i feel we will benefit more from the knowledge and experience of this forum. Any advice on the equipment you would recommend, what and where to buy from, things often not thought about when setting up, recommendations on soil or hydroponics (pros and cons), or just any information you would like to share would be greatly appreciated. We are fairly new to this, we have a couple of 1-2 plant grows under our belts, so we are looking for as much knowledge as possible. Hey guys, i got a t5 flourecent tube for propagation but I can't seem to work out how I can hang this? The manufacturers instructions state you cab leave the light on top of the propogator lid because it's only 26w. Was worried that this might be a fire risk though. The only other thing I have is ratchet straps. Also wondering what is the best light schedule for seedlings? Help would be appreciated, thanks :-)
