I know I've been twatting on about smoothies in different threads but it deserves its own. I went on a health kick a few weeks ago, wanting to not look like a pot bellied, crows feeted, middle aged twat (Or a mid life crisis). Anyways, been making smoothies about 3-4 times a week for breakfast for me, the missus and the kids.

My typical ingredients are:

Bananas
Berries of any sort
Soy Milk
Natural Live Yoghurt (Fat free for me but its all good)
Linseeds
Sunflower seeds
Pumpkin seeds
100% Cocoa

I "Invested" in a glass jarred blender as I don't like plastic ones, I reckon they taint the flavour and they are also harder to clean.

Since we have been drinking them we don't eat now till well gone 2pm (Drink smoothies around 7am-9am depending on weekday or weekend) and we have way more energy and I have lost fucking loads of fat from my waist and back.

They taste shit hot too. I am experimenting with frozen berries to keep cost down and bought some today, I am also picking blackberries where I can and sometimes sticking some fresh mint it.

I can whole heartedly say the £40 I spent on the blender is the best £40 I have spent in a long time. Its well worth a go as a breakfast, you will feel "Clean" and more energetic during the day, honestly you will.

Nice one Lake Palmer I was actully thinking od starting a smoothie thread myself since I discovered their magic a few months ago. I agree with everything u said, they keep u full till lunch time and have a great energy boost and clean feeling about them. In my local town its around 4 euro to buy a medium sized smothie so like u said the specialist blender for them is worth every penny. Berries are deffo shit hot in them tho banannas are always my 'base' along with natural yoghurt. Alll the best and long live the smoothies, HC.

Yeh man. I don't think there is a particular meal that consistently makes me feel as good as a good smoothie. It pisses over any of the Innocent things that cost a fucking fortune for a thimble full. Try using linseeds and sunflower seeds too. I have tried shelled hemp seeds and they work well but are expensive so will try unshelled ones soon.

Good idea, Iv never tried seeds, what I really love about them is that I can eat (or drink) rather 5 servings of fruit in one go wheras Id be hard pressed to eat 2 servings in a given day doing it the traditional way. Great way to get fruit into kids too, they seem to love the novelty of a smoothie, esp when u add hot chocolate powder of cocoa.

link - Cannabis shown to reduce invasiveness of cancer - National Cancer Institute

The lethal dose ratio (LD-50) for cannabis is estimated to be around 1:20,000 to 1:40,000 which means you have to consume 20,000 to 40,000 times as much cannabis as is contained in one cannabis joint to induce death. This means you would have to consume something like 1,500 lbs in 15 minutes to induce a lethal response. There are no known fatalities from the substance and it is considered non- toxic...

You know what, I reckon I could sell blenders on the telly, probably late evening slot, just after a miracle vacuum cleaner that weighs less than 200 grams and just before a deep sea divers watch by an unknown brand that from a distance (Possibly 200 metres or more) it looks expensive.
