SMS Com Smart Fan Controller

35 posts in this topic

Easy peeps,

We are nearly there with the new set up, final few bits and we’ll be away.

Anyone used the the cheap (£40) sms com smart controllers with a 6” rvk before? Do they hum?

If they do, any suggestions on the cheapest controller that’s quiet would be much appreciated!

I've got that one. No humming and had it nearly two years running without fault.

I heard its the RVK fans that it the problem but I dont have a RVK so no problems for me.

Note I use it in manual mode with a probe

Cheers for the replies, glad I asked now!

Hybrid may be good but I’m trying to do this set up cheap as possible. I literally want something to turn the fan down a bit, not bothered about a probe or anything, simple, cheap and reliable is what I’m after!

Cheers!

If you get one keep an eye on it...both mine were a few years ago and maybe they've solved the issue, there was no probe with the one I had.

They have a guarantee whatever the case...:yep:

If there’s a chance it could stop and start when it wants I wouldn’t go near one with a barge pole! @stu914 Not worth the risk or paranoia.

If folk are gonna be spending that fold on controllers I definitely wouldn’t be buying the smshybrid there good run a few of them but old tech extra £20 gets you the GAS enviro2 controller much better for control attach heaters Dehu / humidifier etc plus run ac/ec fans all round better package

Got a gas in my main room, is a nice piece of kit. Like I said before though I’m trying to do this second set up as a cheap as possible with some spare kit I had hanging about. Just a fun little project for me to see how cheap I can grow some bud for. I’m not normally tight and go for the best I can get :spliff:
