Aye, me and jag went up to a wee hill loch in Tayside with 2 pike rods and 2 trout rods, some sandwiches, doughnuts, plenty smoko and juice on Saturday :ouch:

We threw some 8" sardines at the pike for a while and then tried spinning and worms for the trout but with no joy.

It was a cracking good day though ; warm and sunny with the buzzards circling overhead and all wildlife around and stuff, real nice :wassnnme:

Start Peeling the potatoes!!!!!

Thats the biggest fish i have ever seen in my life.

In the Amazon they have Catfish that eat people!

Also a Vampire Catfish that enters the bodies of other fish or Humans and feeds off blood!

I wonder if there are any farm fisheries around that area as they are a breeding ground for lice and let them into the surrounding waters (what can stop them) and who knows what chemicals they use in those places such as steriods for weight and I dread to think of what else. Maybe one or more of the tributaries that feed the waters you mention is beside a farm?

On a different note, recently I bought a smoked haddock and I was surprised that it was not yellow, only to be informed that the yellow ones I have bought out of other shops in the past (not only supermarkets) are just dyed to make them look like they have been smoked - how stupid is that. Why the fuck do companies do this if it tastes the same; it really pisses me off.

What a great big fish you showed there redseal , nice one! I hope it was released - I would think so if it was caught by a conservation group.

Fishermen in northern Thailand have caught the biggest catfish on record -- a 646-pound (293-kg) giant the size of a grizzly bear -- and eaten it , the WWF and the National Geographic Society said on Wednesday.
