Hours spent trying to fix. Help!

36 posts in this topic

Hi everyone I’m fairly new. Hope you all good, and if anyone can spare some advice for me please, first indoor grow with auto.

one is White W. Other is unkown.

as you all can imagine, it’s been a learning curve. So many little problems needing fixing and I’ve happily sat on YouTube and looked at forums etc but this is worrying me a tad.

if I send pictures, please ask me any question and I’ll endeavour to answer.

basics:

Growing in Coco + perlite.

run off was about 5.8 last time I checked, although I aim to feed at 6.0. PPM went to under 200 after flushing..

I have Canna A+B nutes which are fed once, maybe twice a week. along with PH tap water which happens daily. Water from source (Tap) reads 6.7/6.8 before adding Ph.

im running one unbranded LED. 300w which pulls 120.

They are now in week 6 of life and maybe 1-1/2 weeks flowering.

this unkown has had issues all its life but after LST with a flush a few weeks ago she bounced back only to appear ill again.. kinda sad really I’ve bonded with them both.

thanks

Quite hard to tell from your pics they a little pixelated but looks a bit like calcium deficiency, give your girls some calmag! If the Canna A+B feeds anything like the Terra feeds then it won't have much cal/mag properties. Check the back of the bottles ;)

id say as they into flowering all you are seeing is the plant using up energy and nutrients from older leaves ..plants look fine btw .

Well all her life, she has had weird problems, double stemmed leaves, that rusty brown stuff etc forming possible wilting too, it wasn't until I learned more she bounced back and shot up in height, I transplanted the WW auto which stunted and is 5-7 days behind, however she has always been a steady strong plant, not many issues at all... As a first timer I've had to learn fast, and I tend to worry more about their health than my own.

Plus with all the activity in such a small room humidity in the room fluctuates from 55-80! which is really bad in flowering i am asking for bud rot... I bought those cheap calcium boxes which 'de-humidify' rooms apparently, two went in yesterday and its still at 73%.... great.

So i'm saving to buy a dehumidifier with a temp setting, 5L for £45-50 UK. to fix that problem.

Quick Questions if i may...

1) To keep humidity low, can I leave my tent door open, will that affect lighting and flowering, maybe through the day, let the moisture out...

2)Those purple, red looking stems, are they not telling me there is an issue.

3)Should I get any different types of flower nutes

4)Epsom Salt instead of CAL/MAG?

5)Any tips for someone entering flower. DAY 47 from birth :D

I have defoliated both plants twice, my issue was the sudden notice of this purple on the stems, with an almost red glare, it could be the LED light interfering with my eyes... If you want more detailed, pixelated photos I can supply....

Cheers.

@MyManFarmer check your min/max at root level just to make sure they’re not getting cold feet

The rust spots looks like it could be a CalMag issue, are you in a soft water region? Epson Salts is magnesium sulfate and will help, I've no experience using it myself, but loads of growers on here use it for various issues.

Purple stems can be genetic, but generally are tell tale signs of low temps, when you say 18C was that lights on or off?

Running 24/7 LED.

I turned the radiator off in the room as my house would warm it up to 28'c when heating was on, I went away n holiday and it got really cold outside which pulled it down below 20 in the tent.. as mentioned.

It's going purple on the stem, moving upwards, is that a clear sign for anything?

That is too low for lights on, so part of your problem might be lock out, basically the roots have got too cold and aren't absorbing available nutrients which can look like a deficiency.

Get your environment sorted as that's probably more important than what you're feeding them.

Looks like calcium deficiency probably caused by low root temps imo, I wouldn,t give them epsoms as that's for treating a magnesium deficiency.i would raise your root temps and give them some cal mag.

Great, next question, how do I heat the roots, without damaging them, slow gradual? I'm thinking a heat Mat but sounds expensive. Any tips? I'd like to get started today!
