No-till thread

As more and more of us seem to be taking up this style of growing, I thought it would be a good idea to create this thread as a place to share ideas on what is working for them.

Credit to Road Runner who made me get up off my arse and try it.

I'm currently using the following tea recipes and they seem to be working very well with autoflowers. I only have a couple of plants on the go, so no need to waste more water than is necessary. Bubbled for 24 hours.

veg tea:

5 litres water
1 teaspoon molasses
half a cup vermicompost
1 teaspoon volcanic rock dust
1 teaspoon seaweed meal
1 teaspoon alfalfa meal
1 teaspoon flaxseed meal
1 teaspoon insect frass

flower tea:

5 litres water
1 teaspoon molasses
half a cup vermicompost
1 teaspoon volcanic rock dust
1 teaspoon seaweed meal
1 teaspoon alfalfa meal
1 tablespoon comfrey meal

alfalfa and kelp:

5 litres water
half a cup alfalfa meal
1 tablespoon seaweed meal

Just starting down this route myself...

Got any IPM formulas to share? That was going to be the first thing I start with. Found a nice one on buildasoil that uses neem oil, Potassium Silicate, Aloe Vera powder and peppermint/lavender liquid soap. Just about to order the bits for it all and give it a try on my current plants.

These are the amendments I currently have in my soil which is cooking:

3 equal parts for the base mix consisting of:

worm castings
compost
coco

additional:

volcanic rock dust
gypsum
seaweed meal
neem powder
alfalfa meal
epsom salts
ecothrive / insect frass
biochar

I'm still experimenting with ratios, so once I get it down I will post an update.

@@muffintop Great idea getting this on the go. Just a quick post of my experience using leaf mold as a mulch....be v careful how much u use I overdid it and it basically prevented top watering working well. It was a good theory i.e replicating nature and can be picked up all over the place at this time of year all nicely rotted, if you havent collected them yourself. On the upside I found the worms love it and it you go collecting rotted leaves u will find worms under them munching away. So if thinking of using leaf mold do but either bottom water or go easy on how much u use ;)

No worries, the leaves I will be using will be from the current growing plants.

Some cracking stuff going on here: https://www.youtube.com/user/oronarosas/featured

One can only dream of doing something like that in this shitty country.

Woohoo, another BG420 fan ;)

Been following all his episodes.

His latest video where he goes on about that other forum is quite informative. A real good thread by CC.
