Hi, probably a stupid question, but I am in the position to use water from my water butt to water my plants. I would always do this outdoors, but I want to water indoor plants with it too. However, I am aware insects spawn in rainwater, it has been collected off the felted roof of my new shed where there will be some bird crap etc for it to wash through. I will be putting each filled container in, or adjacent to my tent to reach room temperature before using it. As it might sit for a few days between waterings, I am just wondering if incubating whatever is in it is a bad idea and it should be treated somehow? Should I bother filtering it or dropping anything in it to kill potential life in it before using it for my indoor organic grow? If so, what? I am guessing not, but any opinions gratefully received! Midge

Hi....relatively new grower here... I'm hoping that someone can help me figure out a problem I've had growing autos. Specifically, I've grown several autos but despite growing well in veg, the plants effectively 'stopped' mid-flower and did not fully mature. In addition, very little smell which seems to suggest that something was 'wrong' despite appearances. The bud was nowhere near the quality I'd expected although the overall volume of dried bud was good (appx 400g per plant). I've had this issue with several autos - it does not appear to be a one-off. I kept a grow diary with regular photos so can supply further details if required but here are the basic details of my most recent grow: Strain: Dutch Passion auto White Widow (also had the same issue with Dutch Passion auto orange bud). Growing environment: 1x1 metre area grow tent with oscillating fan & air extraction unit 11 Litre airpots Substrate: Canna Coco Pro Plus with appx 30% perlite added. Nutrients: Canna Coco A & B, Calmag, Rhizotonic, PK 13/14, Boost (all from the Canna range) Lights: 2 x SF-1000x Spider Farmer LED's (each @ 97 watts power draw) + 1x150watt HPS. Light schedule: 20/4 then 18/6 for the final 4 weeks. Water: RO water with calmag added to bring typical water ec to 0.4 (target) Watering schedule: twice daily after veg got underway and then three times daily when in flower. Always watered to at least 30% runoff minimum. Input EC and output EC checked at each watering. When in flower, typically flushed once per week as output EC tended to drift too high suggesting nutrient buildup within the coco. EC typically back within acceptable range (i.e. no more than +0.4 ec compared to input ec) after flush. Nutrient schedule: broadly in line with Canna recommended schedule. No major issues with leaf burn although a little leaf tip yellowing did occur. In general, I tended to go a little under the suggested Canna 'light' schedule ec values. Defoliation: minimal. LST: None - essentially left the plants to grow naturally. Temperature & humidity: typically 20 to 25C. Humidity in tent was usually around 40% during flowering. Problem description: Flowering started off as expected at approx 8 weeks after germination but did not mature as expected - no amber trichomes even after 17 weeks when I did the final cut. Some leaf yellowing did occur but regular inspection of trichomes suggested that plants were not developing as expected. One theory is that because the plant was relatively large, the nutrients supplied could not support the plant through to full maturity although this is little more than a guess. I got a big volume of bud off the plant (400 gram dry weight) but quality, as stated earlier, was very poor. Would have happily settled for a much lower yield but decent quality! I researched the requirements for growing autos and am reasonably confident that the overall growing environment was roughly 'correct'. No obvious signs of disease or pests. Can anybody suggest what my problem is? I'm sure if the growing environment were inherently poor then I would not have managed to grow the plants through veg stage and into flower. Thanks in anticipation!

Hi guys, new on here.. im trying to work out wether or not it is worth me buying some Fulvic and humic acids in addition to my existing nutes. I’m using terra aquatica tri part- micro bloom and grow, I’ve also got a gold label root exeluator and I’ve got advanced nutrients overdrive for my late flower stage. I’ve read lots of contrasting opinions about the use of humic and fulvic acids and many growers say less is more... sticking to a more basic set up will work well however I also feel that manufactures would bother making the product if it didn’t add something to our arsenals. Anyone on here used them before and had better results compared with a grow previous without using acids. ive for coco coir and perlite in 30l fabric pots. Using 2x small led fan driven lights with a veg and bloom setting and have 1x Mars hydro TSW2000. I’m running a comparison to see the different results in each half of my tent. I have a humidifier and heater in my setup to keep everything exactly where I want it and also have 2 XL co2 grow bags hanging towards the bottom of my tent by an inlet. I’m fairly new to this so any advice would be greatly appreciated. regards

Hi Does anyone know of and where to get hold of a grow light on a mount or stand. I don't have a grow tent, as I usually grow outdoors, in pots. But when the weather is bad I bring them inside and leave them by my door, but I feel this does not expose them to enough direct sun light. So I was wondering, is there any kind of stand or mount which already has a LED grow lamp on it which I can just place over my plants, until they can go outside again or some kind of frame which I can place over the plants and attach my grow led on to it. I have looked on ebay and amazon at vivosun 4ft t5 frame, but no longer available in the uk has to be imported from the usa. something like the link above would be ideal.

Hello there guys I wanted to ask for help as a first time grower I’m doing bit of outdoor already but wanted to move indoors near future I found a tent I want as I don’t have that much space. The tent size is: 60X90X60CM Can be used horizontally or vertically what sort of light would you recommend I’m guessing with that space 1/2 plants would I really need carbon filter for just those ? What fan also would you recommend for that size. Any links to some on amazon would be great nothing too expensive. Thank you to who ever takes their time to help and happy growing.

So, I've currently got a CBD Therapy grow going on in a 1 x 1 x 2 metre tent, which is going nicely. However, I now have the availability of a greenhouse in which to try a few grows in. I put a Therapy Clone in there last week & after just checking on her she looks really healthy indeed, like she's loving it in there!! I guess that now, in the UK at least, is the best time to be getting your pre-established plants outdoors if you can. I read somewhere that early June is the ideal time to get your plants outside & that once the summer solstice passes on the 20th June (which is in a few days time!!) the plants will naturally start entering the flowering stage. Is this so, even if I only just put the plant out in the greenhouse last week? I put a couple of new strains into seed a month or so ago and I'm currently vegging them in my holding tent with the intention of transferring them into my flowering tent once the CBD Therapy that's currently in there has been harvested, but now, based on seeing how the Therapy clone is taking to the greenhouse, and the natural, full spectrum light, I am wondering whether I'd be better served transferring these new strains into the greenhouse asap, ultimately looking to harvest sometime around mid October. What do you think fellas, what would be your advice on where to put my currently vegging strains now that I have a greenhouse available? The new strains that I'm asking your advice on regarding the growing environment are all Sativa dominant strains, all 75-25% Sativa's; Super Silver Haze, CBD Mango Haze & Strawberry Sour Diesel.

Plants love the feeding from the Aquaponic greenhouse. Using a couple of heaters to keep the Pond temperature up and the Fish active. I have a re purposed Large Topsy Turvy being irrigated with water from the pond. The plants , cuttings, and seedlings are nice and green using only the water from the fish. The aggregate which can be clay balls, river rock, coir, Perlite, is whetted with the fish water during irrigation cycles and air and Bacteria work to break down Ammonia in the Fish water and converts it to a Nitrogen the plants use to grow. This is a Win Win as You just feed the Fish and the Fish feeds the Plants and the Plants clean the water for the fish. Eco-Friendly and it works.
