Sweet Skunk & Cream Caramel Fast Versions

@vince noir rock n roll starThanks for the kind words dude, the great thing about this competition is there are lots of prizes to go around so lots of people are in with a shout of walking away with something. Its been very well organised and a lot of thought has gone into it, those Sweet Points are a cracking idea. I would be happy enough to be in the top ten but being honest it would be nice to win some cash at the end of it.

 

Today the Sweet ladies were potted up into 6 litre pots, I had to cull Sweet Skunk 3 as I only want eight plants in my little space, I could do nine in that tent but I do like to veg them up big and nine plants always ends up too crowded. They will now be left veging under the 400w Mh until the pots are fully rooted out which is usually takes two to three weeks, I have them on an 18/6 lighting schedule, I have tried 20/4 in the past but I didn't notice much difference in veg time so I stick with 18/6.

 

I am still keeping things simple and for the pot ups I have one and a half bags of Plant Magic compost, some Mycorrmax for the roots and some 6 litre square pots. I filled the bottom of the pot up with fresh compost, then sprinkled in a thin layer of Mycorrmax and put the rootball on top and filled in the sides with fresh compost. I don't tamp the compost down by hand, I lift the pot and bang it on the table a few times to tamp it down. I always put the rootball in the pot diagonally as you can see in the photos below as it gives the plant more leg room to spread its roots.

I have taken a few photos of the roots on one of the plants, I know I keep banging on about the merits of the Mycorrmax but I feel its such a good product that any of you guys who are in compost using organic feeds should be using it in your compost.

After the pot up was finished I mixed 5ml of Fishmix and 5ml of Biosilicon into 10 litres of water. I have always used water straight out of the bath taps with no problems, I add a bit of hot water to bring it up 22c. The plants were then put into my bath tub and watered in using my big 10 litre watering can, I gave them just enough to get a little bit of run off from the holes in the bottom of the pots.

After I had potted my Sweet Seeds ladies up I then did the same with my Dinafem ladies and then put them all into the big tent during lights out. That's all the hard graft with messing about with bags of compost and getting my flat all messy dine and dusted , all I have to do now is keep them warm, fed and wateterd for the next few weeks of veging and then the really fun stuff can start to with what will hopefully be a fast flowering period.

@Sweet Seeds -JayppCheers dude, having good genetics to work with also helps.

 

Its been three days since I potted up my four Sweet Seeds ladies and they are loving the new compost and have grown vigorously over the last few days. I think I potted them up a little bit too late they do look a little hungry, I have just watered them all with 1ml of Fish Mix and 1ml of Biosilicon so its shouldnt be long until they are looking green and vibrant again.

 

Thats about it for now, not much exiting happens during veging once they are in final pots, its just a waiting game for them to fully root out the pots. 

 

The two Cream Caramels are both nice and branchy, number 1 is very slow in veg and is staying very short, number 2 is more vigorous, less branchy and is stretching more.

The Sweet Skunks are lovely plants, especially number 2, I cant wait to flower these out in a couple of weeks time.

Its been two hours since the lights came on and the plants have perked right up now they are basking under the 400w Mh.

I have a busy weekend lined up with a couple of mates coming over this afternoon which will end up with me getting the canna biscuit tin out and then tomorrow I have to go to work so I wont be doing a big update.

 

I had to get the camera out this morning though as the first few roots are showing at the drainage holes on my Cream Caramel 1 and I am pleased to say they look thick, white and very hairy.

I want to experiment a bit more with my photography and last week I ordered a couple of meters of black velvet curtain material to use for dark back grounds. It arrived yesterday and this morning I draped it over my bedside cabinet and took a few experiment shots just to see what its like. 

 

Early signs are good so what I need to do now is get some sheets of wood and stretch and staple the material over the wood so there are no creases in it, I can then experiment with the camera settings and go from there.

 

Here are the two Cream Caramels this morning, number 1 looks a little hungry, I left it a little too long before they got their first feed of Fishmix but I am on it now so would expect to see an improvement over the next week, number 2 is looking really nice.
