PC10
Never done a grow before, but reading threads like this gives me a lot of ideas and inspiration/motivation, I think this is the method I will use when I save up a little extra coin so I can finally break my cherry. IMO, £400-£500 isn't a lot of money for a project like this, I would be more than happy to have a budget in that price range, I initally thought it would have cost more! Anywayy, cheers mate! All the best.

dfunkt
First off, let me say thanks for the inspiration church, our new drobe is now set up and running with some killers and an a-train Just a quick question in regards to the passive intakes that you cut...how do you stop light leaks from these? We've tried using oven hood filters and it still lets a lot of light in/out any recommendations on how to stop the light leaks? cheers
metalbasher
dfunkt you could tape a cardboard box to the outside of your passive inlet. you can then either cut the bottom of the box away. or fix a bit of flexible ducting to the box and bend it 90 degrees
bakebeano
ive already got 400 hps + 400 mh. whats the crack with the super spreader thing you are using, I've never seen on of them It sits under the bulb, thus absorbing a lot of the heat, but it's also prismatic and reflects the light off the reflector giving a more even spread without the usual hotspot directly under the lamp. Very handy. I think Joolz can get em if u ask him... Against site rules i think some one said

Church
you mention, ARGOS and HOMEBASE yet you cant tell us where you you get your fan controller from? i was gonna just say the same Aaah that fan controller... I've looked for one the same for many years, never found one again. Just as a point of clarification, Argos and Homebase are general stores, like Screwfix, Wilkos and many others, we allow them as links. My fan controller was from a specialist grow store, which we don't allow links to. Besides, they stopped selling the controller, so they'd have been no use to you anyway. Re light proofing the passive inlets, i used oven hood filters to cover the inlets and keep light and insects out. During the warmer months, i ended up creating a much larger passive in the floor of the drobe, which is light proofed by nature of it being only accessible through the bottom of the drobe. That has been a major factor in terms of temperature control, making the temps about 4 degrees lower in general. This year is the first when I've run a 400 lamp during the summer, previously I've avoided that due to the heat, and downscaled to a 250... But the drobe is by a window these days so ventilation is better - so I thought I'd chance the 400 this year. Unfortunately I went away for a week, so the window's been shut - returned to some rather sun-tanned weed. The drobe is a micro-environment, always keep one eye on temps in there, especially during the summer. Glad to see people are still reading this thread. 4 1/2 years ago I'd never have believed this thread would have 101,000 views, or so many would create such fantastic drobes of their own - heck companies make and sell them nowadays! I've seen some amazing turbo drobes - with 600 watters in them, such creative use of space, and beautiful carpets of bud. Such wondrous devices. I still use the same drobe, although her age is starting to show, and I put my knee through her floor again last week - doh. I may have to retire her soon, when she will become my veg drobe. She's sat there now with a new Aerocloner in her, they look good together I'm humbled by the fact i clumsily crafted a stealth cabinet almost 5 years ago, yet it's main purpose hasn't been to grow weed in, it's been to inspire others to dump the dealer and grow their own. Keep up the great work everyone.
whazzatt?
Hi Church You've occasionally mentioned that you would alter the design of the wardrobe somewhat, especially by removing the top shelf of the setup to give you more room. If you were to do so, would the design of the attached image be worth considering? I realise that flower space would be reduced, but instead of (presumably) a yield every 4 to 4 and a half months, the design of the attached setup would offer fruit every 2 to 2 and a half months. With a 125 CFL in the bottom compartment (no filter, just pc fan for air flow - smell during veg not an issue) and a 250 HPS (normal, not cool tube) in the top with a fan and filter the same as yours, I suspect this could work. Any advice will be much appreciated, and, to be honest, followed.
Stuey
what sort of yield and how many plants can you grow in a space like this? Does it provide enough that you never run out of weed?
dex84
I would throw out all my clothes just to convert my wardrobe into something half as good as Ive seen here.
