@Flamedodger here you go bud :)

mine were to hand so saves @lildaveham the bother 👍

I think stretching the screen so it's tight enough is going to be the most challenging..

Good luck dude, don't forget to show us what you came up with :yinyang:large.Clipped_image_20240318_132652.png.85dd3cde8c9a146bd96fc2e3a9dc213e.pnglarge.Clipped_image_20240318_132708.png.56ce6dc29e5ba6ad9203d60d8a1eebd2.pnglarge.Clipped_image_20240318_132737.png.0e947b3a1a1cbc61e0d4debbc29a9c8c.png

Thanks mate, that’s really helpful 👍🏼

I will be blind dovetailing the screens in my jig and was thinking of routing a channel and instead of screwing a strip like yours to hold the screen, my strip will sit in the channel and also have a profile which lets the frame sit inside the next. I’m hoping not to use any ironmongery. I’ll use polyester for the screen, I’m keen to give static sifting a go and they are better for this.
Mock up in some soft wood first and if it comes off, I’ll make them in oak.
They will eventually sit on my vibration table which I named the Trimbinator, as I strap my Trimbin to it at the mo 😁

As heath robinson as it is it works like a dream, but you have to have a pwm speed controller…….there's a concrete vibrator under the bin and it’s so powerful  you can’t hold it, hence the slab on the bottom of my workmate 😁

It’ll need a new name when it has some nice screens to sit atop it :smokin:

If my prototype is any good and I build an oak version, I’ll donate the prototype for COTC…….but only if it’s worthy :smokin:

Monofilament polyester is deffo a better way to go over silk imo

Sounds like a good plan dude :)

I'm a chippy myself so I'm sure I could have made some decent ones myself too its just getting that screen nice and tight that's the challenge I'd say.

liking the vibration table, bet its a bit nosey though? How long do you run it for?

I was thinking of making something using 1 of those vibraplates or something simular for exercise to fashion something up..should be much quieter and a bit more compact.

I never got around to it in the end and just do it by hand, pretty therapeutic tbh

Be sure to let us see what you come up with on the screens.

Accoya might be a better shout than oak as it's gone through a process of acetylation so less movement due to its inability to absorb moisture as much.

Good luck with your plans flamedodger :yinyang:

Didn't the aliens epoxy resin a palm sander to a tupperware type container then put the erb in the container silk over hole and lid, upside down vibrating the sift out .

Anyone with a vid would be great

@Revive the vibration plate is pretty quiet really using the speed controller slowed down and I find it ‘throws’ the trim around better.
Good shout on the accoya, it’s not too expensive either 👍🏼 I have some European Oak and some Mahogany already.

Anyway I have high jacked @lildaveham’s post enough…sorry mate ☺️ I’ll start my own thread 👍🏼
