murphyblue
Quick update as forgot about the babies all doing ok will sort themselves out when they go out. Should say when i did the last drop off at plot there was a nice weedy smell thought it was the flowering plants but no it was the mighty golds stinking the place up in veg.
murphyblue
Took advantage of a couple of days off and dropped off some stuff at plot ready for the last lot to go out. I started by staking the 2 purple freeze and the exo gold that are in large pots dont have a pic of the purple freeze cos it was blurry but they were done in the same way. exo gold bx1. The other 2 exo golds. The other little ones OPG x freezeland at the back and mighty freeze the front 3. Gave the mighty golds a bit of a trim i took of some of the massive fan leaves. And the other freebies Malawi x NL x DFG at the back 2 in flower tallest one yet to start. STAY SAFE OUT THERE.
murphyblue
Midweek drop off update. Not more compost i hear u say well the answer is no i had to escort a V.I.P. I take no credit for his creation that is all down to my mate. He was plucked from his natural habitat (Newgale beach out west) many moons ago. We have named him Eric why i have no frigging idea don't even know an Eric but he is hopefully our lucky charm and given him the title of "GUARDIAN OF THE WEED". Meet Eric. I did take a load of pics but a lot turned out blurry so didn't upload so i am missing pics of some plants. 2 Exo Golds bx1. Missing pics of the large pots the other exo gold and the 2 purple freeze bx1 but they doing well to be fair lovely purple stripy stems on the freeze's. One of the OPG x freezeland was looking a bit small but the others ok everything in need of water to be honest luckily it started raining while i was there. It probably doesn't look like it but i took of a shed load of leaves from the mighty gold bx1. Not flowering yet and stink. Last of all we have the Malawi x NL x DFG's the tallest is now showing preflowers. 3 different bud shots. STAY SAFE OUT THERE.
murphyblue
Put the last 9 out this morning. 3 purple freeze bx1 3 exo gold bx1 and 3 mighty freeze bx1. The bed at this end isn't as wide so a couple of these will come back out and go into pots when i got a bit more time. I also managed to get pics of the ones in large pots this time (not to blurry). Purple freeze bx1 x2. Exo gold bx1. And because i extended the bed this year i cant get the whole bed in one pic. Got one looking a bit poorly it's a opg freebie if it don't pick up i will pull it will give me a bit more space to train the others. The mighty golds are spot on lower branches almost catching up with some of the main tops now and i am glad i bent them some of them would be nearly 5ft if i hadn't. And to finish a pic of the Malawi x NL x DFG. Will try and do a midweek run to check the newly planted out and cut some more stakes and chop back the surrounding undergrowth until then..... STAY SAFE OUT THERE. Edited June 26, 2021 by murphyblue
murphyblue
First of i pulled the sickly well dead opg freebie the other 2 are doing ok but in need of some water which will arrive tonight hopefully. Will work in reverse order and put the new plant outs and the pots first. Purple Freeze bx1 x2 both in 15 gallon pots released their ties as they were getting eaten. 2 Exo Gold bx1 in 5 gallon pots and one in a 15 gallon. The 2 remaining opg and the first 3 planted out Mighty Freeze bx1. The last planted out 3 Mighty Freeze bx1 3 Exo gold bx1 and 3 Purple Freeze bx1. The mighty golds are looking lovely tops everywhere added a couple of taller stakes here and there and rather than a net going to run string like a cats cradle between the stakes. The back row is my oddity row i popped 3 freebies topped them all they looked almost identical going out. Malawi x NL x DFG just pics of the 2 in flower as the third is doing nothing yet just growing. The 2 that are flowering look totally different to be honest and cant smell nothing above the mighty golds anyway they stink. STAY SAFE OUT THERE.
murphyblue
Been reading back and think the smallest Malawi is about 25 days since i first spotted she was flowering she is a couple of ft tall and with 4 colas she is the last 2 bud pics. The middle one is a few days behind her but with a different bud structure i took out all her lowers so she is just 2 tall colas she is the other bud pics and the last pic. Now the one on the end was slightly shaded(since remedied) has pre-flowers showing but not flowering and is pushing 5ft with 4 colas. So the question is have i got 3 pheno's from the same pack of freebie seeds it looks that way. Both flowering plants are really frosty and the way they are going could be harvesting the first one beginning of next month but the bigger one is the one that has me a bit puzzled. If anything she is more like the 2 cola middle plant node spacing a bit more stretched out than the smaller one but has better lower branching than the middle one. She might turn into something totally different from the other 2 only time will tell. In comparison the Mighty golds are very uniform and have taken well to being tortured all being well should get a really good harvest from them. Gone from 6 main colas if i had left them be to 20 plus hopefully will finish adding the larger stakes then run the string soon it helped last year to support the giants i grew and yes i nicked the idea from here somewhere in old diaries. Will clear out anything that wont make the canopy when flowering starts it should help with airflow which is another job i need to get done and clear some of the surrounding weeds back more air around the plants. The little ones i started training though i had to release the ties the slugs were bypassing the collars so will let them get a bit bigger before carrying on. There's a lovely purple stem on one of the purple freeze and looks like she will take well to bending so cant wait to turn her all shapes. The 2 remaining opg freebies will let just do their thing leaving the space in the middle so i can get in there to tidy up. Thinking of doing the 2 rows of mighty freeze the same way i done the golds and taking out the 2 middle ones of the last 2 rows and putting them in pots will give a bit more room to work with. Am i the only one who looked out the window this morning saw the rain and smiled. Anyway update brought to u by a bored Welshman who was up to early drunk to much coffee and smoked to much already so until next time..... murphyblue
Well mine really needed it and as its only light showers and i was bored shitless i wandered to plot to do some work. Didn't get pics of everything though but got a few of the malawi's. Pics of the furthest into flower and looks one way. Her sister next door the buds look totally different. And then there's the 3rd sister a foot taller than the biggest one u can see the tops of the last pic at the bottom. Got some really massive fan leaves on her but no bud action yet. The mighty freeze looked hungry so chucked some organic potato ferts down all over the bed and gave the 2 flowering plants a small top dress of sop. I think the little mighty freeze in the middle is flowering so might pull it and put one of the exos that are in a small pot there instead. I finished adding the larger stakes to the mighty golds and ran string around and through should help with supporting the branches. murphyblue
Called in the plot on way home from work to do some work. What i should have done was do the work then take the pics but no i took pics first got them out of the way then done the work. Will start with the smaller stuff first the last plant out all doing well. The 3 Exo gold's i have in pots are also doing well the larger one in the 15 gallon pot i supercropped later staked and tied it down. The 2 purple freeze i have in 15 gallon pots are also doing ok now they are not being eaten will supercrop them both when the lowers pick up a bit more. The mighty golds are not flowering yet so its a good job i bent them as they would be over 6ft if i hadn't. I added more string and tucked everything in might add some netting over the top haven't decided yet. The 2 little plants in the pic above are the 2 remaining OPG x Freisland and although everything looking a bit hungry are doing well. Apart from this little lady she was one of the first planted out mighty freeze and only about a ft or so high will keep her for novelties sake i think. Had to grab some pics of the malawi's gave them a good check over and no mould so far and by my reckoning the smallest one is about 4 weeks into flower the other taller one is about 3 weeks in. Both totally different in bud structure the leaves are a lot thinner on the first to flower she is 3ft tall and the buds best described as gnarly looking. Both of them are so frosty but there's the obvious differences. The third which i didn't take a pic of is massive huge leaves i got 4 branches at about 6ft high and one about a ft shorter and she's only showing pre flower. murphyblue
Thank's @panik any info on these malawi's would be welcome mate. Well it seems a Sunday is a good day to get wet here in Wales got an hour at plot before the rain came not complaining as i said before we defo have not had the rainfall we usually have. The reason for plot visit was give them some liquid tomato ferts as a few seemed hungry in midweek plus we have had some rain so wanted to chop some more leaves and scatter at back of plot away from plants it does look like its working plants remain largely untouched by slugs and snails. I am more than happy with the way things are going should get some early bud with hopefully good things to come later in the year. Will start with the newly planted out not bad had a bit of a growth spurt. The 3 first out Mighty freeze bx1 the middle one is flowering. Top right of the above pic is one of 2 OPGx Freizeland here's the other which i twisted and bend and staked. The 2 purple freeze bx1 's i have in 15 gallon pots not bent the first one yet. The first exo gold bx1 took well to bending so did the same with the 2 in the smaller pots. Then we come to the Mighty gold bx1 i have added more string around the large stakes i put in tucking branches in and pulling some down a bit still undecided whether to put a pea net over them. Last of all we come to the Malawi x NL x DFG. First to flower about day 32 since i first spotted pistoles. Next to flower about a week behind her sister and shes a ft taller at 4ft. And the last Malawi is still a mystery at 6ft tall and not flowering been showing preflowers for a couple of weeks so don't think she will be long. Thats it for now so until next time.... murphyblue
Visited plot yesterday on way home from work been busy so not had time to update. Took pics of everything but haven't uploaded as not much to report other than the mighty golds are getting ready to go for it so will give them a good feed next visit. Bud pics of the 2 Malawi x NL x DFG the info i have gathered the first to flower is likely to be the malawi side and the second the DFG side of things other than that have no idea of flowering times. Both are looking spot on and had a thorough check over and no mould first to flower showing a lot of brown hairy bits and has some big calyxes. murphyblue
Was up and out early this morning had a lot to do today. All pics were taken early this morning so the sun hadn't fully got on the plot which made for some nice half light pics. Will start with the pots the first 3 Exo Gold bx1's that went out first all went in pots 2 in 5 gallon and 1 in a 15 gallon pot. If anybody else is running these this year bend em they love it. The 2 Purple Freeze bx1's i have in 15 gallon pots are also responding well to training. The latest plant outs put in quite a growth spurt. OPG x Freezeland. The first 3 planted out Mighty freeze bx1's middle one flowering. The Mighty Gold bx1's are getting ready also preflower's everywhere. The first job i do on arrival at plot is check all the buds on the 2 flowering plants for any rot and today i found some well it was almost rot it was a preflower on the first to flower low down on the back branch u usually cant see in the pics. These Malawi x NL x DFG are really frosty making me think i should do something with the trim. The 6ft+ monster is showing good interest in flowering now. The first to flower various bud shots. The 2nd to flower a week or so behind her sister no signs of rot on her. And the final pic u can see the size difference in the Malawi's. murphyblue
I did a water run last night as was worried about the plants in pots 30 degrees day temps since i last watered everything Saturday. Had nothing to worry about only some non RGSC affected and they all picked up after last nights watering (200L in all). Will start with the last plant outs added some stakes as there's some stormy weather on its way over weekend and they were getting a bit tall. Some Exo Gold bx1's in pots. 2 Purple freeze bx1's. Mighty freeze bx1's. Mighty gold bx1's looking pretty mighty. The Malawi x NL x DFG are as they were have named the big one the triffid please flower soon. The second to flower can be seen in the above pic but here's some more. The first to flower looks totally different to her sister. She is six weeks in maybe a little more don't know how long left but there's a lot more brown pistoles than white saying that have plenty of smoke so she will get all the time she needs but will take my loube next visit as she is in a hurry until then...... murphyblue
I made a decision today to chop the first to flower she was roughly 7 weeks into flower but specks of rot on some buds the decision in the end was easy. More about her at the end. Will start with pot corner as i like to call it a few Exo Gold bx1's. Couple of Purple freeze bx1's. Pot corner groupie. pic is missing will upload later doh. The remaining exo's and purple freezes and some mighty freeze bx1 an OPG X Friezland. These Mighty Gold bx1's are starting to frighten me couple have caught up with the big Malawi which is well over 6ft at the back and they got at least a foot long 90 degree bend in em. Another reason to chop was her sister next door which is turning into something really special. Golf ball size buds lower down and 2 4ft tops and what tops they are the smell on these things is very unusual hope someone else gets the same pheno who can better describe it cos i'm pretty useless at it. She has a totally different bud structure to her sister and showing no signs of rot anywhere so far. She is about to be tested proper though we got rain forecast of and on all week and with her needing at least another 3-4 weeks she's staying for a good bit longer. Malawi x NL x DFG unusual stinky pheno. Almost looks like she is foxtailing how do i turn the sun down. And the finale well for one totally different girl of the same strain out of the same packet as the triffid in the corner bugger forgot to do the triffid quick pic of the triffid pheno malawi. Look at them tops on her little sister bottom left i cant wait. The finale finale. The black bag with all the trim and bud that was suspect was transported away from plot emptied under a lot of undergrowth to rot down will probably help the soil where i put it. Gave everything a last check over when i got back and the last pic is just before they went into my grow box to dry hope to take advantage of the cooler temps this week. Left a good few sugar leaves on as well they are covered in tric's will trim them off and give to my mate he will love them does something or other with lighter fuel as i nearly always got a fag in my gob i dont like the idea of me going boom so will leave that to him.
