Yes yes i know the tag list but my nana always said "start as u mean to go on" and u got to have a laugh not much else to smile about at moment.

This will be my second season and learnt a lot last year like don't let em just grow cos they get bloody huge see butty.

That plot though is lost this year as is the other RGSC plot where they all got eaten and i am yet to find plots for all my seeds i planned. :wallbash:

My list of purchased seeds is as follows.

6 Mighty Gold BX1.

6 Exo Gold BX1.

6 Mighty Freeze BX1.

6 Purple Freeze BX1.

And the freebies.

3 Malawi x NL x DFG.

3 OPG X Freisland.

Last years auto plot which i started from scratch has been rebuild though a lot bigger this time.

The ground was to rocky but in a good south facing and open to the west plot so i chucked down a weed membrane and started digging all the nearby topsoil i could find added 10 blocks of coco and grew 10 plants here last season.

The autos molded badly to be honest but it wasn't the plots fault it pissed down for weeks as they were finishing and another lesson learnt u cant beat the weather.

As i said rebuilt meaning i turned over last years plot and weeded the ground had compressed to about 12" over the winter which to be honest wasn't as bad as i thought.

I have since added 11 X 40L blocks of coco from wilko and another to go in tomorrow.

I have also added 10 50L bags of compost got another 2 to add the rest has been made up from nearby topsoil and the lot mixed together i have also added 1kg of organic potato ferts.

I found a few nice piles of rotting logs nearby and stuck em round the outside.

Plot so far.

Right a little different this year i have already started the 3 freebies Malawi x NL x DFG's a while ago now and they have been topped leaving 6 lowers but the bottom one removed.

Dont know if its right or wrong but like i said something different.

The plan being to bury them at plant out up to the lowest branches and stake them down also into the soil my thinking the lower node now buried would soon sprout roots also a bit of air layering on the branches maybe.

Anyway it should help with stability i would have thought plenty of stakes nearby i can use.

Progress so far in the lives of the Malawi pics.

large.IMG_0698.JPGlarge.DSCN3016.JPGlarge.DSCN3026.JPGlarge.IMG_0710.JPGlarge.IMG_0736.JPGlarge.IMG_0739.JPGlarge.IMG_0750.JPG

As i said progressing well but had to pot up a bit just a week before i plan to put them out but they were thirsty little buggers in the small pot watering daily but since pot up have gone the nice green colour again and back to watering every other day.

Now has one of the tags suggests i plan on putting these 3 ladies in a row at the top of the plot and adding some stakes and sticking a net over em to hold em down and spread them out.

If all works well i can keep everything short and spread the tops a lot bigger than the plot itself thus allowing me to put more plants in the bed.

I had a word with panik and he reckons these should be early finishing so i also popped the 6 Mighty Gold BX1 which also should be earlies.

The babies.

large.IMG_0717.JPGlarge.IMG_0743.JPGlarge.IMG_0744.JPGlarge.IMG_0747.JPG

These are a few weeks behind the freebies but plan on try to do the same with these will evaluate what space i have left but am determined to at least get 1 of each flavor seed.

So follow along folks you might get to see a revolution in GG or more likely how not to do a GG but we will have fun along the way.:yep:

But remember GG BE SAFE OUT THERE yes i loved hill st blues as a kid. lol

Thank's for the well wishes think i will need all the positive viibes to come my way so its appreciated. :yep:

As the weather is like crap thought i would do a small update.

Will start with the babies the Mighty Gold BX1 they are still in small pots and doing better now since going under the scope not stretching so much.

large.IMG_0773.JPG

The other 3 are Malawi x NL x DFG which are more than ready to go out all green and healthy been topped but because of the move under the big purple sun have started stretching like mad.

This may work in my favor though as should be able to now bury all 4 lower branches at plant out.

large.IMG_0777.JPG

A few other plants in there but the reason for the stretch.

large.IMG_0780.JPG

Got to get the Malawi out soon as i just haven't any more room.

STAY SAFE OUT THERE.

Tis the way of the GG sneaking round when the weather is semi shite. lol

And to be fair didn't see the usual cyclists joggers etc.

So picked a good time to stuff the 3 Malawi x NL x DFG into a zipped top lidl's bag (shiny inside).

They held each other up and was unscathed in transport even though i had to stuff them down a bit as they had stretched like mad under the purple light and was only going to get worse so they had to go out.

So tip of the day you can get 3 x 6" pots in a lidl's zip up freezer bag don't be swinging the bugger round mind try and keep upright. lol

Anyways i gets to plot also carrying another bag of compo in my rucksack 2 more and an hour or 2 digging and plot will be finished.

Also like a total stoner i forgot the copper tape wanted to renew last years tape had the pots stashed under bushes all winter.

I do have last years cages still at this plot but not needed here and going without going to bring them home as they were small square stuff perfect for the wormery i want to build.

I also have stashed under the bushes some 2" squares plastic stuff i was going to use as the scrog net for these 3 but think i will bring that back also as trying to get some 2" squares jute stuff keep it all natural like innit.

As i didn't have much time and wanted to dodge the showers i took some green stakes i bought for my peppers but there's plenty of natural stuff nearby will replace when have more time.

I just got em in ground slapped a collar on staked them out and tied them down they are only held down by the weight of the tie so soon as the sun shines they should start going up.

I have stashed under the big hairy bushes a repair kit zip ties wire leccy tape pliers .

Should have took some pics of the roots was a bit shocked to be honest lovely white roots already starting to circle the pots i haven't long potted up either it must have been the fungi i added i'm using Vitax Q4 mycorrhizal fungi £6 from bilkos.

Anyway they might not be "pretty maids all in a row" more like 3 tall ugly sisters line dancing at the moment but here they are. lol

large.IMG_0782.JPGlarge.IMG_0783.JPG

The mighty gold are looking better now the are under the strip and not stretching so much they have had one small feed of highly diluted liquid seaweed and doing ok.

Will post pics of them midweek as they will need potting up i started them in tiny pots with the plan to move them up to the square bigger pots then out.

Until then STAY SAFE OUT THERE.:smokin:

Mid week update as i went to check the first out and i did forget the copper tape again.

Since going out on Sunday they have all sorts of weather thrown at them today its perfect low cloud no rain and humid.

Get's to plot and was surprised to see all 3 healthy no signs of slug or snail damage and no insect damage and we must have had a bit of sun sometime cos they were heading back upwards.

3 Malawi x NL x DFG.

large.IMG_0787.JPG

Root porn.

large.IMG_0792.JPG

Took advantage of the break in the weather and put out the 6 mighty gold.

large.DSCN3049.JPGlarge.DSCN3050.JPG

Can't put anymore out now till i finish the bed.

Just checked and still got 3 packs of 6 and a pack of 3 RGSC seeds to pop ideally could do with another plot for the purple freeze bx1 and the exo gold bx1 would pop the mighty freeze then and squeeze the 6 in here.

Got to sort something out soon though until then.

Called in on way home from work yesterday just to add a couple of slug collars was short at plant out of the mighty golds.

All is well with what's out so far so cant complain really saying that they are way to close to each other so might end up with problems later down the line.

Got loads still to pop which i will start some this week but for now heres a couple of pics from last night.

There's 10 there so far but will add more.

But think i will take out the 2 middle mighty golds and put them in another row.

The first out will leave the 3 in a row and then have 3 rows of 2 will give them a bit more room.

There's a red manderine in there that makes up the 10 but going to get her back out and into a 5 gallon fabric pot the same with the others i have ready to go out.

Then the raised bed will be all RGSC and hopefully can add 3 more rows of 2 (the other beans i have to pop) which will give me 15 in the bed.

No stress about the closeness, try and tie them out if you have room. Something like this but yours will be on a bigger scale. That's 3 plants. You can string them to the ground and hammer in hooks
