tescoturnip
I did take pictures but anything from 2inchs to 6 depending part of field So for dairies sake here's on being planted step by step so got idea of what going down. Find a bit of maize that decided not to come up or looks a thinner spot. Like this seed here with hasn't germed Dig hole: Add some ffb and mycorrhizal whole drenching the plant: Add plant, back fill, add slug collar and sprinkle some more ffb: Water in with the nearest water trough and cage on for protection, even if it does stand out a little: Basically will be dotted around in pairs or 3 so shouldn't stand out to much from above when growing. Got name tags on every plant so come harvest can keep strains together. Last year I tried planting in maize but wya to far apart, some days spent 20mins just trying to find some some the fuckers once maize get tall. This year will be plotting a map and trail so I know how many rows across and step back and forth to fidn the next mini clump. We'll see how that goes probably still end up getting lost! More going out tonight when thr light starts to drop, have already pre dug where each plant will go but can't get materials there in daylight.
Rural Buddha
Thanks for that @tescoturnip I'm considering using what3words to narrow the area down to a 3x3m square - if I struggle to use any landmarks or whatever to relocate the plots.
tescoturnip
Does that work in reverse? Last year I had a compass and reference points but it was a bit of a faf if got the bearing wrong by a little soon got lost, plus when it get thick can walk past the plants unless walking over them! When I first planted thought I need to spread them out massively to disguise but made it so hard to find
Rural Buddha
I've not tried the app yet but when you're by the plants W3W would tell you the square you're in using GPS (note down or save the three word location), then gmaps or a compass app would guide you to that spot again. A duckduckgo search for 'using what3words' gives simple instructions on how to see what square you're in, and how to get to a square using the three word location. My latest mobile doesn't have a compass sensor, got to dig out an old one that I think does, then the compass app would guide you to the plot. tescoturnip
Ah okay good to know may have to go and put it all down on some paper as back up if do start to lose them. So far my maps consist of this on notes or paper form to get rough idea, soon to add names of plants again so if lose name tags or can't find a particular one can refer to what's next to it. Been a busy weekend but nearly got everything in, ground is rock hard and only going out with a small hand spade, trowel even and the dog to dig holes just incase anyone does pop round corner not got a box full of plants and this part seems to take longest, then coming back later at dusk to put the plants in with half a bucket of water each. Have been planting is sort of groups bit bigger than intended but still spread out enough once maize is going will blend in, fingercrossed anyway. The dots above representing each plant out is probably over a 15mx15m area Will probably have a few not like the change from nice light potting mix straight into field soil but there's really nice crumbly till underneath the rock solid top and plenty of moisture underneath, probably helped by the muck ploughed in early in the year(and free fert if they do take)
tescoturnip
Not much to report but... Went a saw the first 6 random ones I planted all still rgsc, but weren't labelled up. Not looking amazing but not ruling them out yet. Seem to be going up with not branching but think they'll get there eventually. Also walked by maize field some were planted in, didn't go to them so no pictures as ground to wet and would of made footprints leading straight to them but from a distance, with the old binoculars looking like there still ahead the maize so they must be growing. Will wait until end of next week before go for a proper look once all dried up again
tescoturnip
Right quick update for you havnt been round them all but popped into one field as passing on walk. These havnt got Cages as would of been way to obvious from field edge, when planted the slug collars stood out like anything. Most looking pretty good just need the sun to come out and play for them to really get going, gunna be a lot of small plants at this rate.
tescoturnip
Morning folks, Was going to write this Friday but between work and socialising all time was lost. Went to my caged plot which has lots of rabbits nearby but also visible from path so Cages were made to be discret, maybe a little to much mind, note to self wider Cages needed... ...note sure whether to scrap Cages or just let them grow out of them maybe need to cut first bits to help plant open up, there still getting grazers and no rabbit damage yet! Turns out the auto ammo didn't take to well to my transplant method of the soil is good enough for the maize so suck it and survive, so they didn't thrive. Maybe next year so compost importation is needed to help ease the transition. There all about 8inchs tall and budding be lucky to get few grams off each, but together they might fill a baby jar, and will be well ahead of other stuff so don't mind passing about to Diddy plants, check the scissors still work Even had one in another plot which has grown some nuts Runty little thing anyway so pulled straight away. Is this hermie or full on male?? as still has hairs growing with said balls? Just so I know for future reference as never seen before with my inexperience. Some more from other plot no Cages and no casualties, but will get some sort of Cages further down the line to stop roots been dug at and aid with support. Maize is growing faster here, but so are my plants! Everything got a top dressing of fbb before showers this weekend. Next up need to get some sulphate of potash for next visit to aid them beautiful buds! Doesn't look like we'll have any monsters this year but a bit of decent bud and I'll be happy
tescoturnip
Maybe not most relevant to diary but was rgsc bud and trim still so I'll say it can go here... Had a few hours this afternoon and kept getting moaned after about taking up freezer space with trim and early bud(wrong strains in maize had to chop early before farmer did!) so decided to pull some out and make butter. Tried making hash last year with bubble bags and ended up with a measly ball of hash which seemed like a lot of hassle and mess for not a lot in the end. So kept of my close trim and early buds dried them right out, even cured and made lots of butter which went down a treat. Then froze what I had left as wanted to enjoy cannacookies on a nice summers day out and about, not stuck at home during covid restrictions! So for anyone interested here's what went down... Decarbed in oven for 20mins at 120 degrees Butter in slow cooker which mug of water to stop over heating Add bud and leave on low for 4 hours Go into the wardrobe a find a shirt I've not worn on a long time and keep getting moaned at for that exact reason and taking up space! Then strain everything through it, although cheesecloth works better but this was on hand Set in the fridge overnight, water will go to the bottom so can pour out once butter has set And choo butter into blocks...simples Use one of those blocks to make some delicious cookies and chuck rest of butter back into the freezer portioned up (saved a little space I guess...) Make sure have non edibles to hand once take effect as going back for more cookies sometimes is a little over powering

Rural Buddha
@B-real - do a search for 'tastecooking canna' that should take you to a recipe for cannabutter. I used that with my AVB (already vaped bud) with great success. I did AVW + trim = 13g, added to 150g butter - perhaps a bit strong, I had a couple of whitey evenings on just one small square of brownie A search for 'weedmaps already vaped bud' gives another recipe

I have gone in blind before and went on a 24 hour trip in bed of of 10 grams of butter on toast it was like i was headed for the mental hospital thought i was fucked for life never again always work out dosages

One cookie does me fine, wouldn't want anymore although So no, as not a clue what thc content of initial product is but did do some math based on 7% 28 x 7% = 1.96 1.96 x 1000 = 1960mg ÷10 blocks 196 ÷15 portions 40mg per cookie
