@English Archer What lat are you at? I'm 51 and a half. My plot is within a mile of the sea, but I doubt I could accurately predict any effects the sea air would have on my grow as it is my 1st so there will be a number of factors that could possibly be a detriment to my grow as I'm a noob. I'll keep an eye on yours and see if there are any similarities!

I suspect those trees didn't lose their lives in vain tho ;)

The area was "re-forested" without delay.

I think the issue regarding planting near birch is the catkins falling on the buds.  A bit like planting near sycamore, you might get some helicopters/seeds and you'll certainly get black spot but it's no great harm.

Instead of cutting the trees down could you not lay them? Basicaly cut about 2/3rd of the way through then pull it over. Tree will survive, light gets to your plants, plot security increases.

You keep the tree gods happy and will be rewarded with extra bud. Good karma dude :D

I know this game is hard work finding somewhere decent to grow but I really don't think people should be cutting down quite clearly new plantations for there own benefit.. Old scrub land with unmanaged trees who gives a shit but that plantation cost someone alot of money -_-
