After a bit of experimenting last season I'm gonna try to go 100% no dig for 2017.... Even if I was to dig I'd wait til just before plantout rather than turn the soil nowish.

Nows the time to be carving out yer max security tunnels & bramble patch plots before the little birdies turn up & start to raise a family.:ninja:

New Smileys are proper shite eh?:(

@inaction man @Andromedian I think I will do that with this new plot. It's a bitch to get too without lugging along any extras! It's a squat, head down, arms in and prey you don't lose too much blood kinda route! There are some things around there that I could use to catch water with and rabbit shit everywhere, so there's some ferts!  I think I might plant out when they are small otherwise it's going to be like an egg and spoon relay!

So think i may have found a failry good plot, only thing worrying me is the power lines. It's not to overgrown so i don't think it will be chopped this year. at the back of the plot in the picture there is a wall of brambles that i made an attempt to get through but didn't get to far. I think if i can get in there it should be pretty concealed if they do come chopping. What does everyone think, go for it or too risky?large.resize.jpglarge.IMG_20170125_150202.jpg

Danger of Death!

We have always stayed well clear of overhead power cables.....not sure when the line checkers come round though.....

I used to work on the power lines and when we cleared them we would cut a 4 metre box around them which should theoretically mean they wouldn't need clearing again for 4 years, although I'm sure they get checked yearly by someone so it's possible you could get away with it if your timing is right but quite likely to be spotted I think.

I m sure I was told that unless it needed clearing it would get routinely done every five years or so. To be honest I have some hacks that I can risk losing so I'm in I think. I'm not going to plant directly under the power lines, off to the side a little, so the risk of death should be minimized

E2a: just seen your reply @bushdoc, cheers for the input. I'm going to get in the brambles away from the lines just to be a little more discreet.

The plot is great, it's ten mins from my house, it's got houses about 300 metres away but clearly no one goes into the bushes. I found an old abandoned outhouse/greenhouse which I can probably store stuff in, again, if it gets lost, so be it. I think I should be able to get a grow done without discovery. Maybe leave decoy to be found and sacrifice it to keep the rest safe.

I think line walkers...check them quite regular, but only think you may have an issue if the surrounding tree's need cutting.....

Got to be worth a punt though, especially if you are only putting hacks there.....plot could be safe for a couple of years...who knows unless you have a go, aye
