Exile420
I wouldn't bother next to power lines, I lost alot of plants near a power line and I believe they check them yearly now, police decided to leave me a nice little message on a near by fence, not worth the risk dude but if your going to go there, check the power line beam of wood for dints as if they used them spike shoes to climb it, you'll know if they come there often then
Cursed
Cheers for the heads up dude. I think if I can get deep in the brambles away from the pylon I should be OK, no fuckers been in there in a very long time. Only concern is leaving a trail but I have a plan, I know the area so know how to get at them from the other side. The Sheriff of Nottingham
Regarding my new auto plot, does anyone know if plants are more likely to mould if they are closer to a water source i.e. the sea or a river? Or does this have no bearing at all really? My new auto plot is at most, a mile inland from the coast, probably a lot less. I can see the sea from where the plants would stand, but the exact area is pretty dry and well drained and it doesn't actually get much rain in this area. What I want to know is whether the sea air will cause any issues with mould from humidity, salt levels etc? The rest of my plots are further inland, but another new potential plot is right next to a river. The exact spot is high enough up to avoid any flooding risk, but again, would such close proximity, even to a river, increase the probability of mould due to moisture and humidity in the air? This is something I have never considered up until now... and it's something I would have no knowledge about whatsoever... as my other plots are further inland away from water sources. Thanks Edited January 27, 2017 by English Archer

Guest Key4
Are you sure? The shadows from the trunks are already on your holes. looks like You would have to chop a good few trees down for that spot to work .

The Sheriff of Nottingham
@Razza420 What latitude are you at mate? The ground looks quite mossy and acidic, I have a similar issue at 2 of my plots, so I basically have to import an entire growing medium worth of soil and compost. Lots of effort, but it's worthwhile for a full sun plot. Just ensure that the surrounding tree foliage won't obstruct your plants from the sun come May/June. That will include trees on either side of your plot that could potentially block morning or afternoon sun once they get their leaves. I had it happen to me at one of my plots last season... I have also heard that you aren't supposed to plant near birch trees, although that could be a myth. Something about acidity seeping into the soil... even after it has been prepped... not sure about that though
