@@Flintstone That look like a wicked plot mate nice and open for good air circulation. What was you thinking of doing, some massive bushes spread out like what you see in the US & Canada and @@912GreenSkell of more numbers? Keep up the good work, you'll be rewarded for it.

There's some cracking looking plots that you lot have go here, I can't wait to see them full of plants!

I'm using the same plot as last season I might make it a bit wider and my plants are going to be spaced out a bit better to allow them to breathe.

gallery_71181_12747_165444.jpg

I'm going to have plenty more fires with some dead fallen wood in the area and then I'm going to dig all the ash into the soil and add plenty of horse manure.

gallery_71181_12747_587371.jpg

I'm gonna put a few here..... just a few though because I don't wan't over fill the plot..... :clown:

lol top pic looks like you buried someone bit of a extreme way to fertilize but we all have to make sacrifices :)

@@HEMPFRUIT haha shhh!..... that's fertilizer :lookaround:..... pot for pennies maaan plus it was getting a bit chilly and I had a beer to drink, plenty more this year but I don't think that plot will need that much pot-ash but I will when I expand these new ones.

All the best for you in 2017 if you're having any guerilla adventures but If not all the best anyway dude :yinyang:

@@Mohamedbear. I think GreenSkell would only put one plant in here! I've decided I'm only going to put in 3 maybe 4 max (3 would be approximately 5x5ft/plant) and have it as a priority plot and find another plot nearby. I've been looking at some companion plants too, like clover, mint and garlic. Ideally, I would like 3 strains on the go, so hopefully two plots of 3 strains.

As for strains (which I've probably dedicated most time to), Frisian Dew is top of the list. Just need another 2!

All the best, Flintstone.

@@Flintstone Sounds like you've got a solid plan there and haha yeah he would fill it with one easily... And it's the hardest bit choosing strains innit I'm mainly doing Dutch Passion stuff myself this year and Frisian Dew is definitely on the list and a couple of auto's from them I think and more photo period's as well but I don't know what yet. I think I'm gonna end up buying some Dinafem strains as well as they had some solid performers last year but I forget what.... stoners ay..... And don't forget about the Canadian stuff as well because they've got quite a strong medical scene over there and f***ing strong weed, plus their weather can also be quite harsh as well so they're quite acclimatized to cold conditions like the UK but perhaps not quite as wet.

Good luck with the grow man I'll be following you're diary for sure it's shaping up to be a good un and I do like one with a lot of pictures.

I have commissioned a new autoflower plot for this coming season. I dug 12 holes into the ground, in preparation, which will need to be widened and deepened slightly before I fill them with compost. I might not go back for a few months now though as I have until May to get this plot finalised since it is exclusively for autos. The important thing was finding the new plot and drafting out the holes so I know how many plants I can get in here. I might lower it to 9 or increase the number to 15, although there is a good chance I will initially plant 8 in early May, and then another 7 in late May, at this particular spot.

Below is a new photo plot, which isn't far from one of my other photo plots. It will hopefully hold 5-6 plants, possibly more, depending on whether or not I find other new spots in the run-up to plant out. I still need to dig the holes so I will have to go back in the coming weeks. I want to get most of my prep work done before late March, when the tick pandemic flares up which seems to last right into mid June, or at least it did last year.

Also, does anyone know what this little shit is? I found a couple of them deep down in the soil when I was digging out the holes at the auto plot. Is it anything to be concerned about?

Cracking looking plots @@English Archer you've got there, nice and open so you'll have good airflow and I hope you've got good security at that plot but by the looks of all them hawthorn bushes you'll be safe. And it's a bonus that there's no brambles at that plot because they always get botrytis sometimes weeks before cannabis plants are ready so the spores must be everywhere!

And I know it's hard to judge from a picture but in that 1st one I'd dig the holes further apart and also about twice the size otherwise you'll end up with the same problem I had where I planted mine too close together and they vegged for ages and by the time they wen't into flower they where getting tangled up and this restricted airflow and also light penetration causing the plant in the middle to stretch up. but if I'd have spaced them out more it'd of had room to breathe and bush out, It still got good light exposure but it's like the plants where aware of each other and grow up to move out the way of the plants either side without even touching......

But all the best mate and I suppose if they're for auto's might be alright.

Cheers man, Take it easy!

cockchafer grub, grill it lightly on a fire like you can with a witchetty grub and eat it if your ever in a survival do-or-die situation on a plot, tastes like shit but it will keep you going till your rescued.

I'd fill your holes sooner rather than later. Apart from being a danger to anything walking through there in the dark, they could well be full of water come May.

And someone might stumble upon them and return at a later date.

Nice plot though , looking forward to seeing it full :)

Or stop at the shop on the way and grab a bottle water and snacks before getting on the plot and being hungry because you can't leave till the jobs done, ...simples ,... some people don't get it though lol

Hey man, yeah as I was digging the holes I was thinking I should probably space them apart a bit more. I do have room to expand the plot and make the holes further apart, if I decide to, but today was more about planning and mapping out the holes so I know exactly where, and how many, I can fit in there. I think they should be okay spaced that far apart, since they will all be autos. In fact they will have more space than my autos got last year, so I'm not too concerned. I was examining the hole spacing earlier, while eating a sandwich, and I definitely think there is enough room for the autos to grow upwards and outwards without touching, but I think the concern is more about them competing with each other for nutes/water/sunlight etc when they are that close together.

Also, I know what you mean about having the middle plant stretching because the one in front of it is obscuring the light, I had that happen last year with one or two of my photos. The holes in the pics above, although it may not look it, are not parallel. I have deliberately put the front and rear holes in between the spacing of the middle row so the plants won't get obscured by others in front of them. Hopefully you understand what I mean  Reading it back, I don't think I have done a very good job explaining it.

Also, I'm loking forward to see what you have in store for 2017 @@Mohamedbear!

I actually did stop at the shop this morning to grab a triple deck sandwich, a chocolate bar & a bottle of water to keep me going on my little outing. But I could have saved myself some money... if I knew in advance... that the soil would be full of big, juicy grubs. Fucksake man! At least I know for next time...

I'm going to aim to fill these holes in the next few weeks, for the reasons you specified. I'm especially concerned about someone spotting the holes as there isn't much foliage about this time of year to obscure the plot, and if I leave the holes exposed for 3-4 months, and then have the autos growing another 2-3 months, that's 6 months+ that I'll be risking someone stumbling across the spot. I guess it's best just to be in and out quick, leaving no evidence before or after. So yeah, I agree with what you said entirely.

I just need to get the prep work done for the photo plots first, which is the priority, but it isn't far from the auto plot so I'll probably be making another trip within the next 7 days to get all the remaining photo/auto holes sorted, then I'll spend the following 2 weeks putting soil/compost/manure in. It's going to be a busy couple of weeks, that's for sure!

ATB everyone!
