sy100276
Greetings friends, Last night was the night for the girls feed, the pots had a few hours left before being completely dry, but they were taken from the tent and fed. I mixed 8ltrs of water with: 3ml/l root stim. 2ml/l grow. 1ml/l catalyst. 0.5ml/l bio silicon. The girls look like they have shifted up a gear,as they look like they are getting wider. I did use the tape measure and they are sitting at 5" tall, given that they have been cut back 3 times I am quite pleased. Another step forward is the new growth from where they were topped for the third time........we now have 2 ladies with not one top.......but 8 on each. These will just be grown now until the girls are about 12" tall and then we can flower. As always they are turned and position changed daily. Thanks.for reading Stay safe, stay green. Dinafem-Mark
By the sound of things you have them ladies doing very well. They look to be getting plenty of food and good call on not letting the pots get to dry. This can take some trial and error but by the look of things you are doing a great job. I would say 1-2 more weeks veg then bloom time?.. Nice job and great update All the best D-M.
sy100276
Thanks for the kind words @@Dinafem-Mark, I am with you on the you on the few more days of veg, this being Day 53, I am thinking maybe day 63 and then flower (and we can crank the watts to 1000W  ) Another new toy arrived today, a nice new hygrometer. It has a wireless sensor which will allow me to monitor lights off temps without a problem, it also came with an APP, so I can check the temps on my smart phone - without leaving the sofa  Temps are reading a steady 81.2f with humidity 38%, this should rise when waterted later tonight. Here are some pics from this morning...... Day 53 Plant 1 Close up plant 2 close up I try and swap positions every day and rotate them, trying to give them both some 400w MH and some 400w dual spec. Tonight they will be fed and I will update with rates etc, as tonight we will be moving from 2ml/l Ot Bloom, to 3ml/l Speaking of lights, one will be purchasing some new bulbs for the girls, both dual spec, although I do have a 400 hps in the cupboard, it has been used a bit, and I like to think fresh bulbs for the girls is the least I can do. That's this update done for now, until next time......... Stay safe and stay baked :oldtoker:
Dinafem-Mark
Apps and mobile sensors now you are getting flashy mate . I can see in 10 years all of us using smart tech to control our grow rooms at a push of a button but I do like to get my hands dirty Will be some fun when the Badby 1000w kicks in that will be a good show , can't wait. sy100276
I agree with you @@Dinafem-Mark I love the feeling of dirt in my hands, and hand watering the girls. But being a big kid I love the odd gadget, although I could do with a laptop. Just had to pop in for an evening update.....with a bit if rambling Well the girls have been fed with 4ltrs each, with a good run off. Added to the water tonight was: 3ml/l ot grow 5ml/l root stim 1.5ml/l catalyst 0.5ml/l bio silicon They were then left in the run off for about 40 min, before going back to the dry tray in the tent. I did measure them both as to me it looks like they grow each time I have a quick peek through the side panel. Well I can co firm that they have been growing, they now measure 7" and 6". The new tops are not long enough to start training yet, but at the rate of growth I would guess another 4 days and the string can come out. As I am pretty sure training the tops will help to spread the branches out, still can't believe we have 8 tops on each plant. Decided to get the girls some MH bulbs to bask under, this will be changed to hps the end of the second week of flower to hps, I seemed to get good results from doing it this way last time. So no dual spec in this tent, but maybe in my new tent? That's right I am thinking of a dr90, as the stealth cab is good for 3-4 weeks without any topping. With the Moby dick I don't want to top them really, just supercropping and LST. To be honest I can't wait, but I have looked at dates, and I think they will be started the 1st Jan 2016. Thanks for reading, bye for now Stay happy stay safe stay green

sy100276
@@Dinafem-Mark thanks man. Your right they are stepping up things, about an inch a day. I am thinking another 7 days or so and flowering can start. Want the hieght to be 12" at least before I think of switching. Going to go e them a feed tomorrow night and give them a measure. Looking to apply some bondage by Friday, or maybe supercropping? Just had an email to say bulbs and electric blanket are out for delivery. So that's a good result, as soon as the bulbs turn up, I can give them 800w of MH, until the end of the second week of flowering. Then once the stretch has stopped we will switch to HPS and run 1000w. The electric blanket will go under the pots to keep them warm when lights are off. Not much else to report really, I turned the pots today but that's all that was needed. Temps are 82.1f and humidity is 40%. Enjoy your evening, stay baked.
Dinafem-Mark
The only thing I would do is timer the blanket mate as could cause pots to get to warm at lights on. Have it come on say half hr after light off and go of 15 mind before lights on?, should work well.. All the best D-M. sy100276
Good evening @@Dinafem-Mark, thanks for the tip with the blanket. But I was planning to run it through a root it thermostat with a sensor, my plan was to set the temp to a min temp before it turns the blanket on and off when needed. I was thinking of say 78f? Do you think I should set the blanket to low med or high? Well my friends this is a bit of a premature update. As it is feeding time tonight, the girls look to be growing each day. They look to be turning into something strong,as I am getting a sweet smell from them already (without rubbing the stem). As there is about 7 days tops until the fun can start, have decided to give them a tidy up tonight and start some LST, I am in two minds what to do though as I do like supercropping. So I might supercrop the branches that are not quite long enough to train. Whatever happens it is going g to be an eventful night. My bulbs did not arrive today, but they will be here tomorrow maybe, along with the blanket, tower fan and fresh bottle of catalyst, as I am almost out. I have checked my dates and it looks like I can celebrate the new year by cracking the Moby dick. That's all for now, take care and be happy
botanics
Looks like we plan on switching at around the same time then Sy, mine should be rooted through these finals in a week as the roots are already at the drainage holes after five days
sy100276
@@botanics thanks for stopping by mate, yep i was thinking we are on a similar stage when I was reading your diary. Might even chop at the same time? Last night I fed the girls and gave them a major trim, and started some serious training. One girl had all her branches super cropped and was trimmed leaving the top node. The second plant had LST treatment, she was also trimmed leaving the top node. I have taken some pics, which I have got to upload to here. But I will do it tomorrow,as I am waiting for the delivery man to call. Had a really late one last night, got to bed about half three and was up for half six. So I am pretty drained. Good news though, had a peek to see how they were getting over the shock of being tied down and roughed up, and they look like the are recovering, the LST plants tops are now pointing upwards and the sc'd plants branches are already healing up. Not bad for less than 12 hours since the training started. Well I am going to have a nap, whilst waiting for the damn postie. Take care folks Edited November 12, 2015 by sy100276
Dinafem-Mark
If you are using a thermostat mate I would try the low setting and 78of Imo is a little high I would aim for 72o but I could be wrong. I'll check ideal medium Temps for you. I would not worry about the girls after lst they can look rough as a bears ass but will soon bounce back with vigour Nice detailed update as usual mate Would love a full growroom/equipment pic /thread All the best D-M.
sy100276
Thanks for dropping in D-M, and for the advice on temps - just want the girls to be happy. As requested, here are a few shots of my humble set up The tent - Budbox Pro 120 Electric panel - 1 x 400w,1x 600w Inside the tent - 8" rhino pro This diary will be a bit of a catch up for you all, Day 55, Plant A Plant B Plant A had branches a touch longer than B, so she was trimmed and LST was applied Plant B was maybe an inch shorter than A, so she was Supercropped Some close ups of the damage that was caused LST Super cropped close up Removed growth Group shot Day 56 Lst plant (started to recover) Supercropped plant Group Shot @ Day 56 This brings us to today Day 57 (less than a week before the switch and they look like they are bouncing back Supercropped Girl Lst'd girl Groups shot of them both My thoughts are to let them grow for the next few days, might supercrop the tops of the LST plant, and I hope to be able to LST the supercropped plant......but we shall see. Thanks for looking in, I am off for a smoke break. :oldtoker: :oldtoker:
sy100276
Surprise!!! Yes just a short post, well really just my thoughts at this moment in time. Had a quick peek before I went on my travels this afternoon. They do look quite happy and content, I think I can see new growth coming through and the LST girl like the branches have gained a bit in length.so much so, they might have the string adjusted. Think I will leave the sc ladie alone as having your branches crushed and bent is bound to be a bit stressful. I think I will leave any more trimming until maybe 10 days into flower, maybe when I switch the bulbs to HPS. In which case it will be 14/days into flower. Well I will return tonight with feeding updates and maybe a bit of bondage. I really want to try to keep them below 12" until the big switch over. @@Dinafem-Mark what is the stretch on these beautiful plants? Bye for now and stay safe
