Serpent
.:| Day #16 – 24 Hour Lights |:. It’s now Sat 4th February 2012 which is Day 16. Well a bit has changed since the last update, and this diary could have ended prematurely but I think we’re all OK now So what the hell am I on about? Do you ever get those times in your life when you’re so busy there just doesn’t seem to be enough hours in the day, and when you have the time, you’re just too bleeding knackered to do anything, well the last few days has been a bit like that. I’ve been meaning to pot up the girls for a few days now but combined with not finding the time, and the tent being used to dry my previous grow, I was a stuck in a catch 22. The girls in the microbox were doing OK, so I thought, as I was conscious about not feeding them too much as I didn’t want the soil to be too moist at pot up. Well it turns out I didn’t feed them anywhere near enough, and last night when I checked how they were doing, they were looking a bit worse for wear, especially the Sweet Specials which were very droopy and some of the fan leaves had gone a bit crispy with rust spots and the soil was bone dry The Mohan Ram’s seemed to cope with it the best, possibly as they’re the smallest, and the + Speed somewhere in the middle. I quickly over watered them made sure there was plenty of run off and kept my fingers crossed! Well I’m pleased to say that this morning, they were like different plants and had sprung back into life, phew, that was close And today, they finally got potted up into their final 6.5 litre pots with some fresh PM Soil, a sprinkling of PM Granules and a drop of PM Bio-Silicon so I’m hoping that will help them pull through this minor blip. They’re also now in the tent under 250w HPS which is sat approx 14”s away (35cm) from the top of the tallest plant. It’s currently set to 24 hours, but I’ll start the 18/6 cycle tomorrow as I turn my light off during the day and I’d like them to get acclimatised before their first lights off period. And finally despite my minor cock up, growth of the plants has been pretty steady with MR#1 showing the greatest amount of growth in height and MR#2 in leaf span. I think that’s everything, and I’ll also split the summary into Pre & Post Pot Up. ::: Pre Pot Up ::: .:| Environment - Microbox |:. Serpent
.:| Day #19 – 18/6 Hour Lights |:. It’s now Tues 7th February 2012 which is Day 19. The lights have now been switched over to 18/6, the girls have been in their new pots and the tent for 3 days now and I’m pleased to report everything is going pretty well after my little hiccup I’ve left the dried/dying leaves on for the time being, I know they don’t look pretty but I’ll just let them drop off naturally, unless they start to really annoy me, new growth though is looking nice and healthy. The + Speed is however looking a little on the droopy side, I think I just overfed her a little when she was potted up, they haven’t had a 2nd feed yet, going to let the pots completely dry out first so I hope that’ll help brighten her up. All the plants, with the exception of MR#2, are starting to show signs of preflowers although surprisingly MR#1 is the most advance as I was expecting the +Speed to be the head of the pack, although she really isn’t that far behind Growth wise is quite interesting, the +Speed has had the most height wise at 3.5cm’s in 3 days, but the smallest growth in leaf span at only 0.5 cm, which is partly down to being slightly droopy, whereas MR#2 has the most leaf span growth at 7cm but only grew 1cm in height. Temps, considering the cold weather we’ve been having haven’t been as bad as I thought they would be, lights on max temp is 25c and lights off to dropped to 17c and the humidity has been between 29% - 50%. I think that’s everything so here’s the summary… .:| Environment |:. Max Temp: 25c Min Temp: 17c Max Humidity: 50% Min Humidity: 29% Distance of Light From Plants: 35cm (14”) aprrox .:| Feeding |:. Amnesia
Looking nice despite the brown marks, its weird but i have very similar brown rusty marks on my Sweet Special#1 leaves, none of the others are affected though. It was suggested to me that the soil culd be a bit hot for them although i must admit it does not like nute-burn to me, Like yourself i plan to just ride it out and see what happens. All the best, stop by soon.
