Guest
What does that glass stick do to the hash?
Shumroom
The quartz stick is heated using a crème brûlée torch or similar, then it’s used to transfer the heat to the hash. You don’t apply flame directly to the hash. I guess it’s to try to avoid combustion Atb
Herbal Kint
Any tips when making hash from buds? How much to crumble etc?
Shumroom
Carefully separate, don’t crumble, you don’t really want to break up the green material if it can be helped It’s usually only wee bits of popcorn buds and trim I have used though. I haven’t done big buds or a full plant/fresh frozen yet. The main thing is to make sure everything is nice and cold before you begin. Remember not to have too much ice for the amount of water. As Frenchy used to say, let the water do the work, or words to that effect Check videos by Frenchy Cannoli, I think this is a pretty good one and not too long I hope you’re old enough to watch Atb
Hole in the clouds
@B-real @Shumroom Yeah I think it’s mostly vapour but there is some sort of combustion going on seems a little bit smokier than vapour I think? Probably heating the wand up too much but it gives you a good hit!

Hippie on hill
I like the look of some of the Tako hash hammer pipes too altho a round bottom banger and a big quartz dab tool will do the same thing Was a bit too smokey for me tho to be honest (I gotta admit I am a little intrigued by the hash kettles and teapots too) My preferred method is to crumble the hash onto a bed of vaping cotton in a hybrid (conduction and convection) vape bowl like the Taroma 360 or Vapcap

Shumroom
I don’t know what size of buds you froze, it might be a good idea to snip them into smaller nugs if they’re still full colas? It might be good to double check with someone who’s done a run of fresh frozen, just in case there’s pitfalls I don’t know about because I haven’t done it yet Atb

Do however many washes you feel is worth it then keep the drained material! Obviously it’s still mixed with some ice cubes. This can then be used to make cannabutter the left over ice cubes become your water in the butter/water mixture. I either spend the day doing the bubble run then the night making butter or just refreeze it for when I’m ready to make butter. I use 750g of butter with the material from a 5 gallon bag run. I seem to consistently get 580-590g of butter yielded off that. I was throwing it away after washing it for bubble but definitely won’t in the future. Theres half a kilo of potent butter in there! Can’t remember who I picked this up off it was someone on here. Freeze the butter and use at leisure Last weekend I refroze the left over material from the butter and I’m going to try using it to make more butter as an experiment see if I can get much else from it. Something @OldFord mentioned.
