@4kali you take a tissue sample ( root, petiole, leaf, stem etc ) this goes in the vial and then it's sent off.

 

Don't get me wrong they could tissue culture some of these tissue samples but it's a long and expensive process, a hell of a lot more expensive then a $500 cut. 

 

My main argument was that he said it was a scam to send cuttings in, then when it was pointed out that you don't actually send the cut in he turned around and said he didn't say that and I was a numpty. Hence the numpty in my reply.

Let's have this right. You can't tissue culture samples sent in. Maaaaaaybe if peeps were sending in apical meristem samples. But there is no need for that and is not what is asked. A bit of petiole is all from what I gather.

 

So cuts can't be physically garnered

 

Plus then think about it.

 

When it becomes popular they may get hundreds or thousands of samples a day to test. Labeled God knows what like ny samples will be sample a, sample b etc (Plus how many grow out xxxxx seeds from spanish banks etc so eve if it said white widow.....is it? Probs not) 

So what. They take a gamble and culture every sample which takes months to then find space to grow the unknown unlabeled sample clone out along with thousands of others in the off chance there might be some valuable genetics there.

 

 

Point I'm making is you have a fuck off tin foil hat if you think this is set up to harvest genetics.

 

 

 

They would be spending an I ordinate amount of resources and 6 months+ of time cleaning up an unknown cut from dave down the road.......which turns out to be some Spanish wank fem bulk seed

but testing one tiny piece does not reflect the whole plant so testing is fucking retarded in itself because one section might be clean and the others not ?

i mean i know personally ill never be paying for testing as its just a case of you want to throw your money away . testing is not accurate at all when even the testers are saying one section of the plant could be clean and others sections not

Did you actually read that bit? Small petiole samples form many parts of the plant.

i understand that but still not accurate all the time so unless you testing alot  which is big ££££. ill assume like most people here i cultivate for myself for persi. testing is not needed i can see the problems with my eyes if it occurs

25 quid a test. 

 

I have like 20 mothers in two no till pots. 

One test for each pot a couple months apart will tell me whether the whole library is clear or not because if one plant has it the lot will with how I'm set up. All plants share everything all the time basically 

 

100 quid for peace of mind with a library that thousand of hours has gone into making. 

 

Waste of money.

E2a. That's not to say I dot have scepticism about testing results etc. That's why it's only an indicator. 

If a positive shows then it would be retesting to confirm result.

have you checked about import of plants to USA  and the regulations needed?

 

obviously I understand these are very small parts of plants but a lot of the info I’m seeing relates to mature stalks being washed in IPA before being sent etc so that no cannabinoids are present etc.

i mean i got to say what a risky setup not the best practise for mothers considering you have thousands of hours into it . but imagine having to test 20 mothers properly and its not 25quid i seen people advertising 40 but lets say 25 quid so 500 quid to test one round  brilliant

Perfectly fine practice if the whole library is clean and other than observational, testing is the only way to know. Plus most is backed up in multiple locations. 

 

I certainly don't need you to be telling me good practice

 

How many mothers do you keep? 

I'd imagine there aren't too many people that have 20 to test and tbh even at 500 quid to test 20 prized mums ain't too bad If you had an outbreak and were trying to eliminate it.

 

 

BTW. It's 40 a test unless you get a few at a time. Mime will be going jn with other people's batches at the same time.
