• The originality of the resources applied, as long as they have a positive impact on the plants [20%];

• Quality and originality of the texts [10%];

• Posting frequency [5%];

All the diaries completed until the 19th of May 2019 at 23h59m (UTC + 0 timezone) will enter the contest. By the 1st of June of the same year the names of the winners will be announced, chosen by the Sweet Seeds® jury team (composed of a minimum of 4 people).

The 2nd and 3rd places earn 100 and 70 Sweet Seeds® Points respectively to exchange at the end of the contest for products from the Sweet Seeds® web store (read points 3 and 5 of the Competition Rules for more information). In addition, the winner of each month will get a crystal trophy of Sweet Seeds® Grower of the Month of the corresponding month.

On days 1, 2 and 3 of the following month, the Sweet Seeds® jury (composed of a minimum of 4 people) will choose the winner through an internal vote. Each member of the jury will give 10 points to his/her favourite grow diary, 7 points to the 2nd favourite, 5 points to the 3rd, 3 points to the 4th and 2 points to the 5th. The points will be added to find the winner and between the 4th and the 8th of each month the winner of the previous month will be announced based on the votes.

 

The contestant who wins the 1st place prize in "Sweet Seeds® Grower of the Month" will be excluded from future candidacies for this category until the end of the contest. That is, each contestant can only be chosen as "Sweet Seeds® Grower of the Month" on one occasion.

Each judge attributes the points according to a subjective evaluation of the work of each grower. Although its assessment is based on the same parameters assessed for the attribution of the final awards, it is inevitable that the 30-day time limit interferes with the importance of each of the parameters and their impact on the decision.

 

Although the last 30 days are the most important to assess this award, when the jury realizes that things are very levelled/even between 2 or more contestants, the last 60 days will be taken into consideration for the evaluations. So, if you think you did a good job in the current month but you have not reached the podium, don’t think that your effort was in vain. Keep up your good work for one more month, as it can all accumulate and give you more chances of winning a prize.

 

The name "Sweet Seeds® Grower of the Month" is based on a symbolic term. We are convinced that it is obvious to all that we do not choose the best grower (literally speaking) because that would be very difficult to evaluate. The judges rely more on looking for the diary that is visually closer to perfection and finding the contestant who shared the best and more impacting content (texts, photos, videos, etc.) during that month (from our subjective point of view).

 

In the previous edition we had the honor to receive, register and consider suggestions from some contestants so that the name of this prize could be changed to another. We could choose to call it "Sweet Seeds® Grow Diary of the Month" or any other name but we are convinced that, as adult people with a good analytical criterion, we will all understand this name as a figurative term that is chosen to bring a special meaning to the prize. We understand that as growers we are more proud to receive a Grower of the Month award than a Grow Diary of the Month award. Actually what we do is awarding the author of the grow diary of the month the Sweet Seeds® Grower of the Month award.

The author of the chosen photo wins 100.00€ in cash and 50 Sweet Seeds® Points to exchange at the end of the contest for products from the Sweet Seeds® web store (read points 3 and 5 of the Competition Rules for more information).

By the 10th of each month we will open a thread for this purpose. To participate, each contestant must publish a single photo on that thread between the 10th and 23h59m of the last day of each month.

 

Between the 1st and the 4th of the following month, the Sweet Seeds® jury (composed of a minimum of 4 members) will choose the winners through an internal vote. Each member of the jury will give 10 points to his/her favourite photo, 7 points to the 2nd favourite, 5 points to the 3rd, 3 points to the 4th and 2 points to the 5th. The points will be added to obtain the winners and the results will be published between the 5th and the 10th of that month.

 

The contestant who wins the "Sweet Seeds® Photo of the Month" award can continue participating in this contest during the following months and eventually win more prizes.

 

We accept photos of plants, flowers, seeds, seedlings, roots, trichomes, pistils, leaves and extractions of varieties from the Sweet Seeds® genetic collection. 

 

Each judge attributes the points according to their subjective evaluation of the photos published in the thread of this contest. In the evaluation of the photos the jury will be based on basic criteria such as: photographic quality, beauty of the photographed object, creativity, framing, focus, sharpness, originality, visual impact, etc. The complete bases of this contest will be published every month in the thread created for this purpose.

In addition to all this, in June an extra prize will be given to the Best Sweet Seeds® Video that shows the development and evolution of the plants.

 

By the 5th of June, the jury will choose the best video, through the same scoring system used in the "Sweet Seeds® Grower of the Month" awards. The winner will receive 250,00€ in cash, 120 Sweet Seeds® Points and a crystal trophy for the Best Sweet Seeds® Video Award.

All the videos must be published in that thread until 23h59m of June 4th. Videos not published in this thread will not be considered for this contest, only for the general contest.

The Sweet Seeds® Points system is a novelty in this 5th Edition of our Grow Diary Competition, aiming to bring more emotion to the contest and, mainly, to distribute relevant prizes among more contestants. The mechanics are very simple... Throughout the contest we give Sweet Points as a reward for different objectives achieved by the growers.

 

If you end the contest with a total of 140 points, this means that you can use your points to buy up to 140 euros in seeds and Sweet Seeds® merchandising. If you get 200 points (or more) we give you the chance to exchange them not only for seeds and merchandising but also for products from the Sweet Seeds® web store, such as vaporizers, measuring instruments, books, etc. (check the full contest rules for more information)

1 - How to participate

 

1.1 - Any grower registered at UK420.com can participate in this contest as long as he/she has more than 30 posts published in the forum. It is also mandatory that he/she is of legal age in his/her country of residence. To participate the grower has to share a grow diary with one or more varieties of the Sweet Seeds® genetic collection (only varieties included in 2018 or 2019 catalogs);

 

1.2 - If you want to participate and you are not registered in UK420.COM with a date prior to the publication of these bases, you are obliged to send an email to sweetconcurso@gmail.com expressing your intention to participate in the contest and stating that you are:

 

a) Of legal age (adult) in the country of residence;

b) A cannabis grower with experience and that this is not the first time you are growing cannabis;

c) Please include information about the nickname that you will use to participate in the competition and the name of the forum where you will participate.

 

1.3 - Grow diaries from users that do not comply with points 1.1 and 1.2 of the Competition Rules will be excluded and deleted without prior notice;

 

1.4 - We will distribute 12 seeds per participant. You will get 3 packages of 3+1 seeds from the strains that you choose among our varieties (depending on availability of the contest stock) to share a grow diary in this subforum. To benefit from the initial seed giveaway you must comply with all the expressed in the point 2 of the bases (see below);

 

1.5 - Those Nick's that have requested seeds in previous grow diary competitions or as testers and have not carried out the grow diary are excluded from the initial seed giveaway;

 

1.6 - Pass the word to your friends as there will be more chances that someone wins;

 

1.7 - Please do not send private messages with doubts. Doubts, suggestions or comments can be exposed in this thread in public and with this the information is available for other contestants with the same doubt. If you do not know which varieties you should choose and you want to ask about their characteristics or if you have any doubts about the bases of the contest, please post them in this thread. We do not respond privately to this type of doubts that can be published in public.

 

 

2 - What do you need to get the initial seed giveaway?

 

2.1 - Only users who comply with all the expressed in point 1 of the rules and with residence in countries to which the shipment of seeds from Spain is legal (Spain, France, United Kingdom, Germany, Ireland, Romania, Slovenia, Denmark, Austria, Italy, Holland, Czech Republic, Poland, Sweden, Finland, Greece, Ukraine, Hungary, Serbia, Belgium and Slovakia) may participate in the seed giveaway. You also have to be of legal age in the country of residence to be able to participate, which is obvious and is already required by UK420.com to all those who register in the forum.

 

2.2 - Only users who are registered in the forum referred to in point 1.1 with a registration date that is prior to the date of the publication of the bases and with a minimum activity of 30 posts may participate in the seed giveaway. Any user who complies with what is stated in point 1 of the rules and shares a grow diary with their own seeds or cuttings from the Sweet Seeds® genetic collection can participate in the competition, even if their date of registration in the forum is subsequent to the publication of these bases;

 

2.3 - The active users of other international forums where Sweet Seeds® runs a commercial subforum and who are registered before the publication of the bases and with a minimum activity of 30 posts, in this case, will also be able to participate in the initial seed giveaway. International users will have to contact the moderators of Sweet Seeds® in the original forum to be invited to the contest at UK420.com, where they will have to register with the same nickname that they previously used in the original forum;

 

2.4 - Although the stock of seeds for the contest is not finished by the 5th of March 2019, it will not be allowed to request seeds after this date, given the short period of time that the contestant would have to complete his/her grow diary. In addition, for orders between the 10th of February and the 5th of March, we recommend autoflowering strains as they give more guarantees of being ready within the time limits of the contest;

 

2.5 - Instructions:

How to benefit from the initial seed giveaway for the 5th Sweet Seeds® Grow Diary Competition:

 

All those interested in getting seeds to participate and who comply with the above rules can send a private message to Sweet Seeds-tommy with the following message:

 

"Hello,

I would like to receive seeds to participate in the 5th Sweet Seeds® Grow Diary Competition.

I declare that this is not the first time that I grow cannabis and that I am a resident of one of the following countries: Spain, France, United Kingdom, Ireland, Romania, Slovenia, Denmark, Austria, Italy, Holland, Czech Republic, Poland, Sweden, Finland, Greece, Ukraine, Hungary, Serbia, Belgium and Slovakia

Kind regards."

 

Although it is not obligatory, we ask you that in addition to sending the private message you also express your desire to participate in this thread.

 

2.6 - After completing point 2.5, contestants accepted for the initial seed giveaway will receive a private message in the forum within a maximum of 7 days with the URL of an application specially designed for the contest and a one-time use code to insert in the application, allowing to request the varieties with which to participate and to share the data for the shipment of the seeds. It is a very simple procedure. The code sent is only valid for the countries referred to in the competition rules, in section 2.1 (see above);

 

2.7 - We want to reinforce that this is the procedure to receive seeds to participate in the contest. If you already have your seeds (or cuttings) of varieties of the Sweet Seeds® genetic collection and you plan to participate with them, you do not need to send the private message in the forum but you have to send the email referred to in point 1.2 of the Competition Rules. Likewise, if you reside in a country to where we can not send seeds, but you already have seeds (or cuttings) of varieties from the Sweet Seeds® genetics collection, you can use them to participate in the contest and qualify for all prizes except for the sending of seeds as a prize in exchange for the Sweet Points you get throughout the contest and the seeds included in the consolation merchandising kits (from 11th to 25th places);

 

2.8 - Sweet Seeds® reserves the right not to send seeds to a specific contestant if for any reason Sweet Seeds® suspects that the user only wants to sign up to receive the seeds for free and not to participate in the competition. In this case Sweet Seeds® does not have to justify the suspicions. If we have doubts regarding this issue, we simply will not send the seeds. If this happens, you can still compete with your own seeds or cuttings and if you finish your grow diary before the 5th of March we will send you 3 packages of 3+1 seeds if you want to do a second grow diary;

 

2.9 - Sweet Seeds® waives and denies any responsibility in the reception of the seeds by the contestants. We send all the seeds requested by the contestants that comply with the Competition Rules, but when for any reason the seeds do not arrive, we will not take responsibility and we will not send them again.

 

 

3 - Mechanics of the “Sweet Seeds® Points” system

 

3.1 - Each point (1 Point) is worth the value of 1,00€ (one euro) according to the parameters referred to in the sections 3.2, 3.3 and 3.4 (see below);

 

3.2 - Contestants who finish the contest with 200 or more Sweet Seeds® Points can exchange them for products from the Sweet Seeds® webshop. This means that you can order all the products from the categories “Vaporizers”, “Tools and Accessories” (except for bambu tutors), “Measuring Instruments”, “Books”, “Paraphernalia” and “Lighting Equipment” (only CFL, HPS, MH and LEC bulbs). It is also possible to collect the products in one of the Sweet Seeds® shops, with no limits. Exchanging Sweet Seeds® Points for products from the web store is not available for non-European countries, to which the shippings are limited to Sweet Seeds® merchandising (t-shirts, grinders, hats, rolling paper, etc.);

 

3.3 - The period to exchange Sweet Seeds® Points for Sweet Seeds® seeds, Sweet Seeds® merchandising and products from the Sweet Seeds® web store is between the 12th and the 25th of June 2019;

 

3.4 - A grow diary will be considered finished when it is composed of a thread with a minimum of 100 posts/replies, 50 photos and 8 updates that include germination of the seeds with photos, vegetative phase with photos, flowering phase with photos, phase of maturity with photos, harvest with photos and strain/smoke report with comments and personal evaluation of the grower to the different strains cultivated;

 

3.5 - The Fairplay Award depends on the subjective evaluation of the Sweet Seeds® jury;

 

3.6 - The "The Sweet Seeds® Original Sticker Show" Award is given to the contestant who, until the 10th of January 2019, publishes the best and most original photo with the Sweet Seeds® sticker that we send along with the seeds (sending the sticker is limited to the contestants who can opt for the initial seed giveaway). By the 20th of January we publish the winner of this very subjective evaluation award. To participate, the contestant must publish a photograph that includes the sticker with the Sweet Seeds® logo in a thread that we will create for this effect by the 10th of December 2018. In that thread we will share more instructions and advice for participation in this sub-contest;

 

3.7 - The final number of Sweet Seeds® Points with which each grower finishes the contest does not reflect nor have it anything to do with the final classification of each grower. For example, the grower who finishes the contest with more Sweet Seeds® points, may be the 5th place in the final classification. And the final winner of the contest may be the 3rd grower with the most Sweet Seeds® Points. To the grower who ends up with more Sweet Seeds® Points, no extra prize is attributed for that fact nor is it awarded a better final classification for it.

 

 

4 - Rules of participation

 

4.1 - If you have started a grow diary in the Sweet Seeds® sub-forum and the date of the first post is the 15th of September 2018 or after, we can move your grow diary to the contest sub-forum so you can participate with your current work. For this, you just have to ask us. As an alternative, you can also choose to start the grow diary again in a thread inside the sub-forum of the contest and even take advantage to improve the presentation and first post. If you do this, starting the grow diary again, we accept all the previously shared grow diaries in the Sweet Seeds® sub-forum started after the 15th of August 2018. On the other hand, if you are an outdoor grower and you have documented the data and photos of your outdoor of this 2018 season (we consider the 1st of March as the start of the outdoor season), you can gather everything you have in a thread and participate in this contest, even if there is already a thread with your grow diary in this forum;

 

4.2 - For the final prizes, we only accept 1 grow diary per contestant. If you want to share 2 grow diaries, we thank you very much and we will follow both but then you have to choose only 1 (one) of them and communicate to us the decision before the 15th of May 2019 (if the contestant does not communicate his/her decision, we will evaluate the first grow diary shared). The other grow diary is not considered for the final prizes. The advantage of sharing 2 grow diaries is that the 2nd grow diary can go better than the 1st and with this you have the possibility to choose the best of your works. You also extend your participation for more months and increase the chances of accumulating more Sweet Seeds® Points. If you share a 2nd grow diary you have to do it in a new thread, it is not allowed to use the same thread for 2 grow diaries; 

 

4.3 - Sweet Seeds® reserves the right to change some details in the bases. Only if we understand that something can be improved and never to reduce prizes, nor to make the contest harder. Any change made after the 15th of November 2018 will be announced in this thread. Until the 15th of November 2018 the Competition Rules may be slightly altered without prior notice, so until that date the Competition Rules should be considered as provisional and it is mandatory that you read them a second time by the 16th of November 2018, now in its final version;

 

4.4 - Sweet Seeds® reserves the right to consider all posts, texts, images, videos and other content published by the contestants as property of Sweet Seeds® and may use them to promote their products without prior authorization from the author, but always quoting the authorship (unless you prefer not being quoted, in which case you have to warn us about it when you start your grow diary). This means that you agree to share the rights of your work with Sweet Seeds® and, just like you, Sweet Seeds® can use your content to publish it outside this sub-forum. You do not lose the rights to your work, they are simply shared between both parties;

 

4.5 - The language of the grow diary texts should preferably be English, but Spanish, Italian, French and Portuguese are also accepted;

 

4.6 - This contest, with exactly the same rules and prizes, is also happening in the Spanish forums CannabisCafe.net and LaMarihuana.com. Each person can only participate in 1 of these forums. If you are participating here and you want to share the grow diary in the other forum, then perfect, but always without opting for any prizes or points;

 

4.7 - For contestants who finish in the Top 10 we have an extra gift for one last effort. 100,00€ in cash for all those in the Top 10 who share their grow diary of the contest on the Growdiaries.com website. Once shared you send us a private message at UK420.com with a link to your grow diary on both websites and we send you this extra gift;

 

4.8 - Sweet Seeds® declines any liability arising from complaints about the decisions of the jury. Decisions are subjective, such as in any jury sport, such as artistic gymnastics, jumping (swimming), synchronized swimming, etc., where decisions are made based on what the human eye (jury) can see and interpret, instead of relying on numerical measurements like most sports. We know that a good percentage of you will not agree with some decisions, but this is inevitable and to make this kind of contest we have to reject responsibilities in this regard, otherwise we could not perform this type of competition. We hope you trust us, because in the end choosing the best works is something that affects us very directly, since the winning works will have more visibility and will be announced in the forums and social networks, so Sweet Seeds® is the first part interested in doing everything possible to choose the works that can best promote our brand;

 

4.9 - Sweet Seeds® reserves the right to disqualify and exclude from the contest any participant who does not comply with the rules and regulations of the competition and/or does not comply with the most basic guidelines of respect and Fairplay;

 

4.10 - Sweet Seeds® absolutely declines any responsibility for malfunctions of the forum that could harm the participants grow diaries. If the forum is offline, if there is an update and content is lost (photos, posts, threads, texts, videos, whatever), if any option or statistics in the forum does not work well, if a forum has more/better conditions or offers more/better permissions than another, if the forum closes doors, if the forum administration decides to suspend or ban your account, etc., Sweet Seeds® is not responsible and does not consider for the contest any part of grow diaries that have been totally or partially lost due to situations of this type. It is like outdoor sports in which the climate and soil conditions are unpredictable and interfere with the performance of the participant, in which luck and chance play a role;

 

4.11 - During the first 12 weeks of the contest Sweet Seeds® reserves the right to decide to allow participation in this contest also through the Forum Sweet Seeds® (in addition to UK420.COM), a forum that would be created to the effect on a Sweet Seeds® website.

 

 

5 - Shipping of Prizes

 

5.1 - All the prizes between 1st and 25th place and the products from the prizes of the exchanged Sweet Seeds® Points will be sent to the winners within the maximum period of 60 days after the announcement of the winners. The same for the winners of the "Sweet Seeds® Grower of the Month" awards, "Sweet Seeds® Photo of the Month" and "Best Sweet Seeds® Video";

 

5.2 - Sweet Seeds® is not responsible for the delivery of prizes that do not reach their addressee every time there are indications that it is the participants fault (eg: fictitious names that do not allow receiving the package, errors in the shipping address; prolonged absence of the recipient during the various attempts of the delivery/mail service, etc). In these cases a second shipment will not be made and the prize will not be attributed;

 

5.3 - Prize winners are required to send us the complete data for the shipment until the 25th of June 2019. Users who do not do so within this period lose the right to the products, which will not be attributed;

 

5.4 - Sweet Seeds® pays for the shipping costs of all prizes as long as they do not exceed 25 euros. If the shipping costs are higher than 25 euros, the winner of the prize pays the difference (eg. shipping costs 42€, the winner of the prize pays 17€);

 

5.5 - For non-peninsular Spain and other countries in Europe (United Kingdom included) we can not send liquids (fertilizers are included), substrates, fans, extractors and other products that are very heavy and/or very bulky. These products can only be sent to peninsular Spain and always considering the content of point 5.4, so even for peninsular Spain we recommend the exchange of points for products such as seeds, paraphernalia items, vaporizers, pH meters, thermo-hygrometers, thermometers, books and other products of similar weight and volume. For non-peninsular Spain and other countries in Europe (including the United Kingdom) we can only send products from the categories “Vaporizers”, “Tools and Accessories” (except for bambu tutors), “Measuring Instruments”, “Books”, “Paraphernalia” and “Lighting Equipment” (only CFL, HPS, MH and LEC bulbs);

 

5.6 - Cash prizes can only be sent by bank transfer, without exceptions;

 

5.7 - Some Sweet Seeds® merchandising products (such as the metallic grinder, lighters and ashtrays) can only be sent to some countries. Please check this with us at the time of the shipping order;

 

5.8 - We do not replace seeds that have been offered as contest prizes or giveaways;

 

5.9 - If you are a resident of a country where we can not send seeds, you opt for all prizes except for sending seeds as a reward in the consolation kits or in exchange for the points you get throughout the contest and except for the eventualities referred to in point 5.7 (see above).

 

 

6 - Advices from the Sweet Seeds® team

 

6.1 - We recommend that the first post of each grow diary contains as much information as possible about the materials used, techniques and cultivation parameters, as well as data about the Sweet Seeds® strains that you are about to grow;

 

6.2 - We like to be able to look at many photos, but we recommend that you to make a good selection of material and concentrate only on the best. As an example, it is not necessary to publish 10 photos of the same bud, made on the same day. It is preferable that you choose the one you like the most, or at best your 2 or 3 favourites, and publish only those. We also prefer that, if you have 30 photos to publish, you distribute them among 3 posts instead of publishing them all in 1 single post. This helps to avoid generating pages of the thread with hundreds of photos, which then take a long time to load and are difficult to visualize;

 

6.3 - One of our best tips: Do not publish photos of previous grows in your grow diary, much less at the beginning. Having plants in vegetative and then putting pictures of plants about to harvest that do not even belong to the current grow, only brings confusion to the grow diary. The only important grow is your current grow diary, not previous grow diaries. If you want fellow contestants to look at your previous grows, please leave a link for it. Neither do we consider the photos of extractions of previous grows interesting. We love them, but the extractions are good at their time, which is at the end of the grow diary, after the harvest;

 

6.4 - And if the previous advice is one of the best, this is surely the best of all: It is important to refrain from abusing of the size of your signatures. The large signatures that are then repeated hundreds of times throughout the grow diary in each and every one of your posts can be very annoying for the colleagues who watch your work, as well as for the Sweet Seeds® jury. They steal a lot of fluency to the grow diaries and it is clear that this is negative at all levels. Any signature with more than 600x100 is already too big for us. We advise smaller sizes than this and discrete designs/photos;

 

6.5 - The title of the thread (it is not mandatory but) should contain the names of the strains included in your grow diary. In addition, when the titles of the threads include the names of the strains but they are not well written, whether there are errors, off-site characters or the non-capitalization of the first letter of the name or title, the Sweet Seeds® team reserves the right to edit the name of the thread without prior or subsequent notice or to order the participant to edit it;

 

6.6 - This is not the contest in which the grower who obtains the best yield wins, nor the one who obtains the tastiest buds wins, because these parameters can not be evaluated. In this contest, the winners are the best grow diaries, which are made of photos, texts and videos;

 

6.7 - There is not a minimum number of plants to compete. Cultivating 3 or 12 plants does not interfere with the possibilities of reaching the best prizes. We already saw all grow diaries with only one plant in SCROG that are more beautiful and interesting than other grow diaries of 10 or more plants. If you grow 4 plants and get good results, with beautiful plants from which you make good photos, it does not matter if they are 4 or 12. It is known that usually it is easier to generate impressive contents with more plants, but we do not impose any requirement;

 

6.8 - If someone leaves a comment in your thread that bothers you, we advise you to ignore it and if you consider it offensive and you need to vent your feelings before leaving a reply in public please contact privately with one of us (Sweet Seeds-tommy or Sweet Seeds -Jaypp).

 

 

7. Validation of participation

 

7.1 - Any user of the forum that submits a grow diary to this competition irrevocably and automatically assumes the reading, knowledge and acceptance of these Competition Rules and all the information contained in this same post.
