AustrianToker
Hola fellow growers. Thankfully, I've taken two cuts of each crystal candy during the first week of flowering. All of them have rooted without troubles and one of each is now being kept as back up. So far, this strain has been impressive and there could be keeper material within the 3 girls i got. I'll be honest and say that #3 is my favourite so far. But this can all change... Here are Crystal Candy cuttings from #1, #2 and #3 On 22/02/2017 at 10:24 AM, vigorocious said: @AustrianTokker First thing i checked was to see if there was an auto version. I am so happy you mentioned cream mandarin as i had chosen this as well for my next run. I am thinking of halving pot size and doubling number of pots from 6x6.5 to 3x11 L. I feel like a winner already. That cream manderin xl is certainly impressive as an auto. Done the photo version before and has a really nice flavour. How much room you have? I reckon you will have very similar yield with your two options. I have the tendency to have to many plants crammed into a space... Downsizing pots to 25x25cm so could fit six and have them crammed in, i am using a 400w hps. Thinking 2 strains, 3 plants each. Was thinking they might share similar growth patterns.

You could do the 6 in that space. But not sure about the auto xxl having a similar growth pattern. Or perhaps you could have a compromise 4x standard autos and 1 xxl to cover the space of two. you might have to train your xxl to keep her at the same height as the others.
vigorocious
was thinking the pots might be more of a limit on their height and the specs on SS website doesn't show too much difference 70-130cm vs 80-150. My dark devils are 40-50cm tall well into flowering and cream mandarin shares some genetics through big devil xl. IF necessary i can do some gentle bending as i have on one of my current 3, she is looking like death but is much taller with less very unhealthy leaves, finishing sooner and probably my second best yielding.
AustrianToker
DAY 47 of flowering. Almost 7 weeks completed! Not too long to go now... I think i will now start to reduce the bloom and up the grow feed a little. about 2ml/L of each. Crystal Candy #1 Crystal Candy #2 - not too many brown pistils on her. i hope she will be ready at 9 weeks. Crystal Candy #3 - she is the furthest ahead of the other. I will check with the microscope later one. I might only give her one more feed and then plain tap water from then on. Sweet times ahead!

AustrianToker
DAY 49 of flowering! 7 weeks The girls are on their final spurt. The main colas are getting heavier by the day and more and more pistils are turning brown. Scissors have been cleaned and ready for the chop, which i plan to do in the 2 weeks time. Only Crystal Candy #3 has been ahead of the other and will probably come down a little sooner, as she looks almost done. I will now reduce the bloom and gradually bring the feed down. I will only give plain tap water for the final week. Crystal Candy #1 - she has very nice bubblegum smell Crystal Candy #1 - she still has a few white pistils, but mostly on the main cola. The lower buds have mostly brown pistils by now. Crystal Candy #2 - She has more of a berry type smell to her and will be hopefully be ready at 9 weeks. Crystal Candy #3 loads of white pistils but also loads of resin Crystal Candy #3 the ripe melon pheno. Crystal Candy #3 - the fastest of all three. But coated in sticky icky. Been looking outside. Where are you? Tbh, can't wait to chop them down. The smell from them is fantastic and really want to know what the smoke is like. thankfully, I've taken cuts of each, just in case On 24/02/2017 at 1:09 PM, 93junglist said: Wow man! Look at them! Really satisfied at the moment with the performance of this strain, even with the lower "winter" temps dropping below ideal level.
