zimmer Posted October 31, 2015 Author Share Posted October 31, 2015 Day 28 of 12/12 Day 16 Flower Things are coming on great again and they seemed to have bounced right back after those nasty dirty thrips Only concern as of now is the EC, i had them on 0.9 going in this week and again after every feed Ec has risen to 1.4-1.8 so this week i am taking the feed back down to 0.8 and see if i cant stabilize them again, altho they look non the worse for it. There also drinking over 10 gallons a day which i have never had some thing drink that much. Ph is sitting at 6.0 and Rh 50 ish, temps are always 25/23c Are these a 60 day flower Mark, sorry for being lazy and not checking myself . Any hoo a few pics. Theyve finally stopped the stretching thing heh just enough head room left. One pic of the Black Dom cross in coco, they seem pretty tame compared to the Kush, altho this time round they didnt stretch much for some reason. The damn Ec will not stay stable, i emptied the tank again this week and dropped the feed down to 0.7 came in 2 days later and it was 1.8/1.9 heh, i put 2 buckets of plain water in and topped up with the 0.7 nutes and this left it at an Ec of 1.2 If this carries on i will drain again and flush for a day see if that settles it Costing me a fortune in nutes ) i read these where not fussy but i am finding them so. They look ok maybe a touch of burn on the tips but that is all. Any way next run is full Coco so ditching the nft for awhile. Few pics. Coco side is doing fine using the same pen, but i will check it. Probably me,i am so used to hardly ever changing a tank with the Domina, altho this is the 3rd time i have done a full change. What i meant to say in my stoned rambles above is to get the Ec problem under control i filled and flushed the tank 3 times letting it run for 30 mins each fill, This slowly brought the ec down to 0.3 so i drained that and filled with nutes at Ec 0.8. After 2 days i went back in and the ec was 0.8-0.9 same a few days later so i seem to have cured that problem seems i had a big build up of salts around the roots. I checked my ph pen the other day and it was spot on, well as far as that pen is heh Checked the ph in the tank tonight at feed time and it had dropped to 5.0, i doulble checked the pen by trying it in new nutes i had just made which is always 6.0 and that was spot on so a huge drop from 6.0 Anyhow refilled the tank tonight with 50ml of grow and 150ml of bloom to give it an ec of 0.8 they took 50 l of nutes. Ph set to 5.8. Temps are spot on at canopy with 27c being the highest ans 21c low, ill come back to this in a moment. They seem to have gone mad this last week throwing pistols out every where, there is also alot of fox tailing going on, i dont think this is from temps as there well in range and there is also 2 big fans blowing under the shade, light is at the nearest cola about 18 inch away. These 6 plants where cloned off 6 seeds i planted but i lost some of them so i have no idea which they came from but its 4 of the 6 that are doing the funky foxing So i do not no if its enviro or just a freaky seed thats doing this other wise they look fine. Where on day 46 true flower so i dont think they will finish by 60 days, maybe the hassle i had with the ec has slowed them some, we shall see. Few pics. Foxing very pronounced on this one There all like golf ball size buds and there is tons of them lower down inside the canopy, there is tons of bud so im not worried about yield at all ) The smell that is developing is like a sweet fuel smell bad to describe but there strong as when i go into the room i extract to there is a faint musky smell, new filter needed next run heh. Some of the next run just born Big Kush And my new toy that i am gonna play with tonight Next update in a few weeks near the chop time hopefully. geo1 Posted November 28, 2015 Share Posted November 28, 2015 ive only done 3 indoor grows but looks like a bit too much nitrogen? i would go with 25ml next time. I can see dark green leaves and clawing. I had the same thing with some burmese sativa i just did in soil. I didnt fully root my pots so there was too much nitrogen sitting there plus some strains dont use much, they did kinda fix themselves though. zimmer Posted November 29, 2015 Author Share Posted November 29, 2015 Hmm i am at a loss. The leaves look a lot greener in pics than real life. I do not think its too much N, but rather having the probs with the Ec peaking at 2.o etc has held them back, since getting the Ec stabilized again at 0.8 the have burst into life and all this foxing has happened. Now tonight in there a few of my Domina has some foxtails! only smallish but still there. This has never happened to them in coco before so i had to think again Now i have 2 temp probes in there so either there both wrong or in the wrong position, i left one at the bottom of the canopy as it also test the tank for temps and put the other one right in the middle of the canopy under the shade, lets see what temps i get now. I also moved the variacs temp probe from within the growth upto the top of the canopy in between the 2 reflectors and also turned the sensor down to 28c, this kicked the fans up a notch so maybe it is temps after all i will see after watching it for a few days. Last time i set the probe there i was having troubles keeping the temps above 22c. Why do problems always happen when you have the least time to deal with them i have been busy as hell with doctors and hospitals just now soo. Maybe drop the Grow down slightly? , other than that things look very well. The plane water flush looks to have helped out a lot. Most growers would add more food or do a 1 cycle flush.
