Have a look on the RGSC website dude, basically any of their outdoor indicas should do you proud.

I wouldn't get too hung up on the thc% in the description, for one it won't be 100% accurate and on top of that THC% isn't really the be all and end all of potency.

I wouldn't grow Frisian again if you payed me, it finishes late, rots easily, tastes like crayons and hardly even gets you high

Ha ha!  I haven't tried Frisian Dew, but the crayons comment did make me laugh.  Personally I like the taste of Frisian Duck, but I think you are right to suggest the more recent bunch if my experience (and most I have seen around the internet) is anything to go on. I think the taste of Frisian Duck is wonderful (and a small part of me thinks that maybe - grown in optimum conditions - it would be just the ticket but ey. I'd definitely trust Mindsoup's judgement, I rarely disagree with anything he says on here.

Generally I like the old school classics and landraces as much as the recent hybrids, but when it comes to growing outside, I have found it challenging enough that listening to the experts and going with a more recent set of strains which may be more durable, a better strength and just as suited to Northern Europe, might well be wise.  Personally I wouldn't bother with Frisian Duck again unless I had unlimited space to grow and a more supportive legal system in the UK to allow me to try it out.  I figured when  you said you liked lower THC, that a 5%-10% was  your cup of tea, but if you are looking at 10%-15% which is kind my sweet spot (to allow for a rich selection of other cannabinoids and the ability to smoke as much of them as I want to) then yeah, Frisian Duck may be a disappointment.  If you have them anyway, and the space to chuck them in the ground with other choices, you've nothing to lose though.

Some folk talked about Nordic strains. I will check the GuerillaGrowing threads again, but last time I looked, it was kind of difficult to figure out what the current suggestions are as it has been going so long.  Without meaning in anyway to dis the OP of the strains thread there, we could almost do with starting a new thread to move forward with the current strains.  There's a lot of advice in there that would be overlooked that way, but I am not sure who would read the entire thread anyway as some of it goes back to 1789

Taste is very subjective, and TBF everyone enjoys different smokes, but when it comes to finishing times and hardiness the FD just doesn't compete stacked up against the newer varieties.

The Nordic stuff is also worth a look, especially if you're after a milder smoke, but I haven't had much hands on experience with them in recent years and I've always grown the more sativa leaning stuff. The viking from Derg Corra I did a couple seasons back was an indica and an absolute beast, it was everything FD wishes it was. Not the earliest finisher but hard as nails and as near rot proof as you can get, taste was earthy with hints of liquorice and hash.

Even carry on with what you have and back it up / spread your chances with some other genetics.

RGSC Super 61 was exceptional both GG & garden       As was the RGSC Lemon Cake.

Hedge your bets a bit more ,  im not dissing DP as i cant ,  its been a long time since i have grown any  &  only have the more recent Passion #1  & Auto Euforia to go on 1st hand  & grows from on here.

TBF that Auto Euphoria of yours last year really clawed victory from the jaws of defeat, can't argue with the quality of those genetics.

I have never seen anything like that before nor shall i see t again tbf mate !!      It was a dramatic grow lol

It is also BY FAR the loudest auto i have ever run  ,  it was loud !!!     Pure offensive road kill skunk , not a pleasant note in there but she was loud lol

I will run her again and actually was hoping the Euforia photo was similar ,  want to give her a run out of curiosity.

@geo1          I was highly impressed with her mate ,  not something i say often !      She even made it into the DP news journal :george:       Only had 1 tiny single skin snippet of still damp bud.

Will be trying her and the photo variant next year.

Sadly i have not smoked any as i cant ,  but feedback has been awesome.

Proper hard little auto ,  my adventure with her last year has earned her a spot in the garden for a while

Nice one. This year you mean lol? Or you not got room this year and you do actually mean next year?

Sorry to hear. You just grow for the fun of it? Is it a health issue or you just don't enjoy the herb anymore?

Sadly still struggling mate ,   this year im aiming for bit i know can survive on tough love  ,  will be a neglected effort dictated by health but not missing an opportunity to grow :yep:

Next year i can hopefully give the plants a decent run,  do them justice ,  not this year sadly.

Anything i produce will go into mct / oils and edibles.      So im def game for playing .... the mind is ... the body less so lol

i wouldn't go with duck strains read on another site a guy growing duck strains and he said he never grow them again the THC levels are very low and the worst smoke hes had. before they brought autos out i was interested in his strains mainly because they dont look like a cannabis plant. and i was lucky enough one night to talk to the breeder wally duck from oz and i asked him what strains have he got that would suit the uk outdoors. and he told me none because they wouldnt finish before the bad weather set in.

funny you say that about the duck, don’t believe all you read about strains online, i personally love the Hawaiian duck  i got, it’s up there with some of the best ive smoked :stoned:  very strong growing plants and attractive too

Wally actually said in the PotCast (link on site somewhere) that the Hawaiian duck is stronger than his, it’s one of the strongest he’s smoked iirr?

the duck i grew was very pokey lol

@Celtic voyager, if the strains you listed are the seeds you have, then I say give them a try.

I'm going to defend ducksfoot strains here. I ran Auto Duck last summer, and while I had mould issues, that was my own fault for not taking action earlier in a crazily humid polytunnel. What I managed to harvest isn't the strongest weed ever, but it has a pleasant aroma and flavour. I'll be mostly using it for edibles, but a fair bit of my production goes that way anyhow.

Ducksfoot strains do provide excellent camouflage, until the flowers start thickening up then you get a classic hash smell... I'm planning on growing Auto Duck again this year, and Frisian Duck too, but not in a greenhouse, outside in the fresh air. I'm even looking into other ducksfoot and mutant leaf shape strains for the future. Found a breeder that specialises in these and it seems some strains are a bit more potent than the DP ones.

I think ducksfoot strains give you the chance to grow weed in places you wouldn't be able to otherwise. That's a big advantage for outdoor growing in my opinion. :yep:

Otherwise, sure there are loads of outdoor strains, old school and newer arrivals, regs fems and autos. Lots of choice.

Again, thanks to everyone for replying with the advice and tips

Much appreciated.

I'll explain the reasoning why I chose these particular strains..

1, because of their size, and yields

I grow six to seven auto evey year, but got thinking, that 3 large plants, could possibly yield just as must, but without the effortof too many autos.

2, their supposedly high reliance to mold and fungus, which would be great for wet weather.

3, their ability to handle wet and rough weather

(I live right on the Atlantic coast).

4, their thc levels, I have a low to medium thc tolerance, 15% would be very strong for me, I just like a nice soft body stone, no couch lock, paranoia or anxiety.

Going on what MindSoup said today about RGS, I contacted then, explained what I'd like, and they replied with,

Fast lemon cake

 Erdpurpz,

and super 61.

These were mentioned by oldford.

I haven't bought DP seeds yet,

but im going to look into RGS suggestions more first.
