Good to puts some names to leaves. I especially like the shot where the seed shell has fallen perfectly at the base stem and look like a pac man munching.

Take it easy brutha.

Some beautiful pictures - the new camera is paying off! :yep:   I found the RHC and the Zkittles to be a bit stretchy compared to the others, but not overwhelming.  Hopefully you will be finding a descent sweet tai.  I wasn't fortunate in the past, but that doesn't mean that sweet tai can't be good. Good luck! :v:

Thanks @AustrianToker and @Punta Roja

I'm really enjoying learning what the new camera is capable of :yep:

In close-up the germination stage is as enjoyable to watch as the crystal formation during flowering. Imo

Cheers for the stretch info AT :)

With regards to the Sweet Tai,

I've got my fingers cr:v: ossed for a keeper but if not at least I've got plenty of variety with this grow.

I'll most likely be making a batch of ISO with the leftovers(popcorn and trim) anyway,

so any plants which don't make the grade flavour wise will get added to the trim bags(delicates wash bag) so that I can make the best of them for the management of my chronic pain

Thanks for the kind words,

and the very best of luck to both of you and others all in this years competition.

Update to 28th Jan 2021

I hope you're all keeping well in these unpredictable times.

It's been a busy time for me in the Homebox nursery tent as things are starting to take hold :)

so make sure you've got a spliff in your hand/vape stuffed/cuppa tea/coffee/walked the dog and been to the loo and I'll explain what's been happening for the last week.

Up first we check in with the Aircomfort data logger to see what the weather has been like for the last week in the garden

large._20210129_014138.JPG

It's been fairly cosy considering just how cold it's been outside(bloody freezing),

the massive humidity peak 25th/26th was me trying out an idea to increase it,

but it kinda went too far and turned things into a bit of a jungle(which would be great for clones) ;)

To begin the week the lights were at about 80W combined,

with roughly 35W on the qb and about 45W on the Highlight 220.

Group 1: The Mohan Ram and 2 Red Hot Cookies.

Some of the stems were becoming a bit too long and flexible,

they had stretched up just a little(a lot) too much in the beginning because I've been wary of having my new super intense LED lights turned up too high,
especially while the next group of seeds were germinating in the same space.

Anyhow...

a medicated idea popped into my mind,

I decided that in order to stop them flopping over and lying horizontally,

I added a "bends" training clip just below the cotyledons of each plant to encourage some strengthening of the stem and it seems to have done the trick.

That was a couple of days before I potted them up into these 7.5"(I think) pots.

Oh and please excuse some of the photos,

I forgot to switch of the clip on fan before snapping away.

I'll bury them a little deeper again on the next pot up,

but in the meantime when I sometimes spray them at lights out,

with either just tap water or seaweed solution 2ml/l they don't just flop over.

These girls(above) have had just a couple of drinks since being potted up last week into these pots,

as I want to try to encourage root growth as much as possible,
they got one feed on Monday and then another today(yesterday now) :)

I will increase the regularity/frequency of drinks for them over the next few days until they're being watered daily,
by which I'll start to check the run-off ph and EC,

and then keep an eye on the roots to see when it's time for a larger pot.

The feed/water temp I made up to 24C and it's very soft water (background EC 0.0),
they got Intense Nutrients: MagCal to 0.4EC with Foundation 1.5ml/l and some KickStart to bring it up to 0.8EC

Oops I forgot to pH the feed on Monday because I'm not used to this coco malarkey :D

but I remembered to bring it down with some "Down 'n Dirty" from @Intense Nutrients

Iirc I brought it down to 5.8(I'm now going to go away and check what pH I should be aiming for).

The lights have been getting turned up bit by bit,

they're now up to around 50W for the qb and 65W for the Highlight 220,

This is only the second time I've started off plants in this new tent,

so I'm still kinda feeling my way around with lighting levels but I'm totally loving the adjustability of these LEDs from @diyleduk

Next up are the second batch of seedlings I'm affectionately referring to as...

Group 2: The BigFoot the RHC runt the SAD s1 the Sweet Tai and Sweet Zenzation(try saying that 3 times fast)

These girls got new homes as well now,
but I didn't have enough pots of the same size so this was the best I could find for now.

Again I've potted them up into Ecothrive pure coco with Charge.

I part filled each pot and gently pressed the coco into the pots using a smaller pot,

and then I sprinkled over the hole and surrounding area with some Plant Magic granules,
I then added some Mykos powder into each hole and directly on the exposed roots for good measure.

large.P1240004.JPGlarge.P1240003.JPGlarge.P1240007.JPGlarge.P1240005.JPG

Placed each seedling into their prepared hole and covered with more coco again gently pressing down to make sure I wasn't compressing the coco too much(and transfer the label onto each new pot).

Then I watered them in using the same solution as I had just given to group 1.

Sweet Zenzation

This one on the left above was dropped and some of the coco fell out,

oops.

Red Hot Cookies (I think)

large.RedHot.JPG

I use a metal wrack on an XXLarge saucer to water,

and allow time for the pots to stop dripping before I place them back on the heat mats(currently set at 26.5 cause it's been freezing outside) beside the nice warm tube heater which is just on its own thermostat.

Thanks for looking
