:D Yeah the Sweet Tai has been on my radar for a long time so I'm kinda hoping for something nice to keep a mum from, and yes, the time has come

My nursery and veg space are about as empty as they are gonna get.

I've finally managed to get my test run going in both of my blooming areas, one started 12/12 almost 4 weeks ago and the other is almost 2 weeks in,

hopefully all goes well with that :v:

I think I've got the next update ready to go on my tablet,

just gotta resize some photos :yinyang:

Happy New Year to everyone.

Thanks for all of the positive comments :yep:

@Whatwentwrong so Red Hot Cookies is supposed to be done in 8 weeks eh :)

Cookies x Tangie (we'll just have to wait and see),

On a side note,

I was making some food the other day and decided to have a root around in the fridge and to my absolute delight,

I found that I still have 2 x Cream Caramel and 2 x Crystal Candy seeds from a previous grow which I had completely forgotten about.

Ok order to give myself the best chance of completing this diary before the competition ends,

I'm gonna stick with strains which are quoted as being 8 weeks only,

so that leaves me with:

Mohan Ram 8 weeks

And:

Red Hot Cookies 8 weeks

large.P1070055.JPG

I'm definitely still going to grow Big Foot, SAD s1, Sweet Tai and Sweet Zenzation,

so I'll cover that but they won't be finished in time for a full harvest and smoke report :(

Last year I got some(200l) of medium from @diyleduk in preparation for my first coco grow,

some of it is pure coco and some is the 70/30 with Charge included.

Since I usually grow in mud I often use peat pellets when starting seeds but this time I will be germinating them in Jiffy(coco) pellets and I'll also be giving the Rootit starter plugs a try for the first time(with seeds).

OK here goes,

Thursday 9pm:

After removing my seed box from the fridge I retrieved the Mohan Ram and Red Hot Cookies seed packets

3 x Mohan Ram

large.P1070082.JPG

and 3 x Red Hot Cookies

large.P1070098.JPG

were placed in shot glasses of water(24C) with a couple of drops of Food grade Hydrogen Peroxide 3% in each glass and were put in the nursery tent to keep warm overnight.

Red Hot Cookies

I've kept a spare seed of each and stuck them back in the fridge for use at a later date :)

Friday 3pm:

Next up I hydrated the Jiffy pellets using 24C water,

the water has 1ml/l of Orca Mycorrhizae liquid,

and 1ml/l of Mycco Chum which is a food for the beneficial bacteria,

I also dripped some of this mixture onto the Rootit plugs then squeezed out the excess liquid.

Here's the seeds after soaking for 18hrs

Below: Mohan Ram

Once the Jiffy pellets were fully expanded I used a bamboo skewer to make a hole in the top for each of the seeds,

then using the blunt end of the skewer I posted each seed down about 2cm then back filled each hole.

With the Rootit plugs I again used the skewer to make a hole large enough for each seed and then stuffed them down(tail first),

then I removed a small piece of each plug and stuffed them in each hole to cover the seeds.

I lined the base of  a clean propagator with some kitchen roll and placed the mini pots inside and then I dampened the kitchen roll to help keep the relative humidity up for now(it's very dry indoors due to freezing temperatures outside).

I then covered with the clear lid and placed onto a heat mat(set at 25C) inside the Homebox tent which currently has a 75W quantum board(set at just 10W for now) directly above the propagator at roughly 30"(75cm),

there's a Highlight 220 in the same tent off to the side currently set at 35W,

with a 3 foot(90cm) tube heater to keep things nice'n cosy.

So now it's waiting time for these little ladies to wake up and show themselves :)

Comments and suggestions most welcome.

Atb until next time

thats what sweet seeds say. 56 days on the dot, not a day later. Fast flowering sativa (didn’t really think they existed but clearly they must do) and it’s not like  @Sweet Seeds Apolo @Sweet Seeds-tommy @Sweet Seeds -Jaypp Would lie to us.

you’ve started now anyway so if you flip in 7 weeks you’ll still have 11 weeks to flower. You know the rules though, you have to grow yours slightly worse than mine.

And if the plants get lonely see if you can take them round to see @vince noir rock n roll star’s.  The Thrips is a small price to pay for happy plants. Lockdown has an effect on all of us.

I'll try my best :D

Oh and I have heard that it's better to get the thrips while there still young lol

Thanks for dropping in @Fragg I hope you've been keeping well.

Yeah the new camera(Olympus TG-6) from Santa is great for close-ups,

now I've just gotta figure out how to get the best out of it,

I might have to noise up Toke for some training.

Glad to hear that Mohan Ram a good strain for pain relief :yep:

I noticed that it has a touch of CBD to its make-up and I'm pretty sure that I could probably benefit from this in my medicine cabinet.

Thanks mate,

the new camera is great,

It has a microscope setting which is what I used for those seeds shots,

no extra lenses used :yep:

It also does focus stacking and bracketing but I'll need a little tripod to be able to give that a try :)

It's more the general photography I need to work on I think.

Thanks very much @delagdo

Not as much as I am :D

it took me a bit longer than anticipated getting my upgrades completed and getting the Diyleduk grow into bloom,

but that's me able to get going now.

I've got my :v: for a Lady in Red or 2.

Wish you all the very best with your grow and the comp.

I like your idea of doing a time-lapse,

and look forward to seeing the final cut :yep:

I hope to get up some fresh photos up tonight or tomorrow.

A quick update 12/01/21

Photos from 11/01/21

large.P1110005.JPGlarge.P1110015.JPGlarge.P1110017.JPG

As you can see from above 5 out of 6 seedlings are up,

so I opened the vent on the prop lid.

Still no sign of the last seedling,

So out with seed number 4 of the Red Hot Cookies.

large.P1120065.JPGlarge.P1120067.JPGlarge.P1120071.JPG

Again in order to kickstart germination this seed has gone into a shot glass of warm(24-26C) water,

with a couple of drops of Hydrogen Peroxide to provide extra Oxygen and has been placed somewhere warm for now.

I'll be back when I've got more to update.

Thanks for looking.

Thanks for dropping in and the positive comments.

@Punta Roja

Yes you should :)

I soaked before planting the next load of seeds the other day,

so they will hopefully be up when I pop in to the Homebox tent.

I still get a little anxious waiting for seeds to germinate but once they show themselves it brings with it a large dose of relief.
