First Ever Grow Diary

Any thoughts on how much longer my Girl Scout Cookies auto might have to go? It’s not grown any taller in about two weeks now. Not the biggest or bushiest but it’s done well to get this far after it was looking close to death it’s early stages large.A0F48A9B-F444-4AE6-B914-5C9E40305D64.jpeglarge.1F028EC0-210F-4010-B056-E1A8A4AB27C1.jpeg

Mrs Amnesia is going really well with flowering, there’s more similar to these further down and out at the sides. large.A5BA6EF5-A311-4593-8FE8-F8DA05EE5421.jpeglarge.131A2610-7DB9-4FA9-B699-31C2360FC4C4.jpeg

Girl Scout Cookies auto. I’ve started running the dehumidifier in the greenhouse as of tonight, hopefully it helps speed up them finishing.

I put my dehumidifier on last night for the first time also in my greenhouse.  Good decision I think :)

Buds looking great, you certainly want to keep away the budrot.  Have you found that the dehumidifier speeds up finishing?

Ive read that keeping the humidity down below 40 helps to make the buds more dense so will see how it goes over the course of the week. The dehumidifier was set to shut off if it went under 40 percent and it doesn’t seem to have filled up too much so my levels in the greenhouse can’t have been too bad overnight. I ran in in conjunction with my dyson fan heater which oscillates, hopefully keeping the air flow going around the plants.

I’m not an expert but I’d say it’s got a way to go yet. A lot of those pistills look barely brown and the leaves all look in good nick too. They’re looking wicked man, with lots of trichomes. I’d invest in a decent loupe and check them to see if they’re mostly milky/amber yet. If they’re still clear you’re a way off.

I have had 2 of the same seeds running together and one has finished way faster but isn’t as fat as the other so got loads of time left to go still.

I’d hold your horses for finishing but maybe get a second opinion lol

Got some photos with a cheapo phone microscope attachment. I presume I’m looking at clear trichomes here?large.C5B18FED-D5D6-4B2A-B7DE-7D3B82FA079F.jpeglarge.7C33C9BA-8C97-4FE9-A041-8B8BB6DF38DB.jpeglarge.738B60A1-3383-49A3-9D58-9170F71B1583.jpeglarge.473006ED-4991-4C77-A6F7-3732A6D8F6AB.jpeg

I’d say most of those look fairly clear but it’s hard to tell from the photo.

Latest photos of my two plants. Top cola on the photo amnesia 5 is getting big. Auto GSC is still taking its time to finish but looks like it’s getting there. Since I started running the dehumidifier it’s definitely made a difference. large.15A8727F-BACA-452E-9EB1-D667B7A0D96C.jpeglarge.7892F041-4A79-41A7-951E-5D6CEC6BB9A2.jpeglarge.E61B73EC-D753-47C6-9DA7-08EF76596982.jpeg

My auto GSC definitely photographs better at night in the greenhouse. Think I’m getting close to it being ready to harvest, the trichomes are looking cloudy in most areas (Some of the really small lower buds look like they’re playing catch-up).

Gutted! Had a disaster last week when I massively slept in on the hottest day of the year. Got to the greenhouse and my amnesia 5 photoperiod had every leaf dropping and despite a really good water and cool down almost all the fan leaves ended up going crispy and most of the pistils have turned orange with it having 3-4 weeks to go in flower. It still has some of the fan leaves and most of the sugar leaves around the buds seem ok but I presume that I just need to leave it and give it a chance? The buds are fairly sticky and the trichomes are visible. Will get some photos up in the morning.

My auto thankfully didn’t seem to be bothered by it and it’s now reached day 95, all the trichomes are milky and about 60% of the pistils on the upper 3/4 of the plant have browned. Planning on doing a 2 stage harvest to see if the buds on the lower quarter finish up more.

Ive also got a white widow auto which didn’t look like it would make it after throwing out some really weird shaped leaves but it’s got some new ones coming through that look fairly normal so hopefully it works out and gives me something to make up on what’s gonna be lost from the amnesia.

Unless you got bud rot (which, with the dehumidifier, seems less likely) I would imagine that hanging on in there is the best option*. Many of the plants in indoor growers and in e.g. Asha's threads have very brown fan leaves when in late flower and some growers remove nearly all the fan leaves at that stage leaving them looking like thistles so they seem to be able to run on the sugar leaves alone.

*oh, and get an alarm clock placed out of reach of the bed!

@Socksnsandalsglad to hear that all isn’t lost. I was a bit worried that the pistils going orange quickly was a sign of it being on its last legs but some fresh white ones have started appearing again in many of the buds.

This is a week on from the photoperiod plant getting badly hit by the heat, more pistils appearing daily so will let it run its course.

Auto GSC is ready for the chop, doing the top half first tomorrow and will harvest the rest once the lower buds have grown a bit more.
