Kipper420
Potted up today. 9.5ltrs is all I have for the autos in the comp. I need to keep them stealthy as they'll reside in the garden and makeshift greenhouse. Dont want the neighbours cctv to see. Happy to report that the roots although far from having rooted out the bottom of the 3" pots looked good and healthy. Lets hope they do ok and I don't have to pop some more beans. Heres my mix for the pot up bottom to top 1-2" jacks magic handfull of worm poo (mixed in) Top up half way up pot with a mix of JI MP and jacks magic with a scoop (20ml of rootgrow mixed in) Top up to rim with levingtons with added JI (left a bit of space in case i need to bury the stalk some more) Bury the feckers deep on the stalk so 1" of stalk showing bit of h2o and were good. Bring on the stink. Edited April 10, 2019 by Kipper420
Kipper420
Did I forget. These are in a west facing window sill. 4.30am - 2.30pm they are on the sill sunshine and my led cob is placed 40cm from the canopy for supplementary light to try and avoid leggy stalks. I won't know if the distance is good until they go bad, which I believe could take several weeks to show. We will see. In the afternoons they go into the greenhouse for 4+ hours or until it gets coldish. (Technical terms I know. When the g house get below 15degrees) Then back to the sill. Theyre a bit slow off the mark compared to what you guys can do in a couple of weeks but I'm happy.

Glad you took the advice and used a bigger size pot. The 9.5l gives you roughly 50% medium more than the 6.5l ones and will make great homes Your doing the right thing by taking them out to the greenhouse at optimal times then back to the safety of the windowsill It won't be long now then you'll be leaving them in the greenhouse Thanks for the outdoor update mate All the best Mark..
Kipper420
Very pleased with what I see. The fruit seedling has a lovely colour hew to it and a strong stem. It's a few days younger than the cheese xxxl maybe as much as a week. The cheese xxl seem rather vigorous and early leaves look wide and more indica. They look so lost in the big pots. I'll get over it. They've all just had a second drink in the 9.5ltr pots. Seaweed extract 2.5ml in 1.5ltrs rain water. 1/3ltr each poured just a bit wider than the previous pots top size to try and encourage outward root growth. We will see. I have my plans but nature has hers too. Thanks so much for the chance to try these @Dinafem-Mark Im really enjoying this.

Kipper420
Today the girls are languishing in the sun for a few hours before bed to harden them off. It's got to happen some time and today is as good a day as any. Just a couple of hours in the breeze should strengthen the stalks. They'll be getting a seaweed feed later at bed time.

Kipper420
Tonight's supper was 0.5ltrs of the aforementioned seaweed feed. All season Im like a new parent checking on the babies. Resisting the urge to molly coddle them is difficult . I think it's 8 days since last drink. I watered really undo the perimeter of the pots to encourage roots going to the outside. Pure theory but Roots means foliage and foliage means flowers. They're looking ok. I'm impressed. Compared to my last auto attempt. Another fruit auto has broke ground and is growing stronger by the day. I was going to do so many but I got carried away. Which means with the lack of space and need for stealth, I'll be doing some training experiments most likely. Best go look at the spec sheet to see which will fair better with training.

Kipper420
I'm blown away. Came home today to the room with the cheese xxl plants in and they stink already at just 6inchs tall. Help. They've got a couple more weeks before hardened off and full time outside. @Dinafem-Mark
Kipper420
Just a quikie. Heads up. re germination. I swapped kitchen towels a while back. After wetting the towel I squeezed it and noticed a slight foaming. I think this may have contributed to the fruit autos germination. I popped all 5 fruits and 3 made a tap root. 1 didn't budge at all. That's nature for ya. 1 burst open but didn't make a root. (Didn't break ground when potted) 1 made a small tap root. (Hasn't broken ground yet, any day now I'm hoping) 1 broke ground and still has her cotyledons. Rooting for ya. See what I did there ? 1 is 4" tall and is squat and robust. I really like the look of her. I do remember trying h2o2 on some of the seeds. I think the kitchen towel maybe the common cause of my germ story. I'm going back to my cheap and cheerful towels.
