PROJECT:  MONSTERS IN THE CLOSET

by GASTATION.

Hello and lets have fun watching the grass grow people!!!!

For the following grow diary I would like to break it down and explain, a good way to grow for everyone that is interested to start their own garden and they lack space.

I have learned and dial up that method of DWC AUTOFLOWER growing the last 5 years with great results and this time I believe everything is up to my standards of doing things….

We will create a grow room suitable for small apartments and/or bedrooms, so silence and monstrous results is our guideline for what we want to achieve.

So lets start with our setup and costs:

We look at total cost of equipment up to 1300$ for the first run.

Room: Any 60x75x180cm closet or grow tent works.

You will make your life a lot easier to manage things with a grow tent so lets go with that option, you can also place the grow tent in a closet if you are able to make one extraction hole.

Setup choice: A Gorilla Grow Tent Light Line 60x75x1.80cm ( 150$), been able to withstand a lot of weight making it a really futureproof choice

Lighting: We will go with LEDs for easier management of temps and humidity. (300$ - Your wallet depth)

Setup choice: A mars2 1200w led, panel which I swapped the fans to something stronger and more silent (total cost 350$)

Air: Consider you will also need a carbon filter for the sweet smell of your girls and a good 4inc turbine to go with it, for a good temp management.

PS: A blauberg max fan that comes with thermostat for temperature and humidity cost 150$.

Setup choice: Rhino filter 100mm and 12cm Inline fan with DIY silence box(350m3/h) (230$)

Water: You either buy one RO filter or RO water from the market (250$+ filter, 50-80$/grow water bottles). Unless you have like the best water out of your tap I would advise against it.

DWC buckets + air pump: Growing with DWC, WATER IS YOUR GOD.-  been temps, oxygenation or the quality of it.

Setup choice: DIY DWC buckets made out of 20L/5gal coolers… Keeping the temps under 22c for 4 days which is critical when grow room temps run over 30c. (100$ or free if you’re lucky). Haleia air pump ACO-9820(~100$)

large.igloo.JPG

Feeding: Now that’s something up to personal preferences (bio or not)

I will go once more with Advance Nutrients to make it easy and foolproof, stoners we are, mistakes we can (will) do…

My choice: A+B PH perfect line (connoiseur), Voodoo Juice, B52, Rhino skin, Big bud and overdrive, Bud candy and Bud Factor X. (cost for 2 plants with 40Lin total buckets 120$)

Growing method: After a lot of tries and error, DWC, individual SCROG for each bucket (DIY), Defoliation, with High Co2, High Temps and max feed all the way. From my testing that’s the highest yielding option for a room that small. Achieving up and close to 190g per auto-flower plant in previous tries. (Jack 47 auto/80days)

            LET THE SHOW START ALLREADY?!?

1) Seeds placed in water and then in wet cotton, old school method that works as it should. (Seeds poped, as fast as ever, after 1 day in the cotton)

Mean while ROOTit cubes and rockwool cubes was placed in 1L water with:

ROOTIT first feed at 8ml

Voodoo Juice 1ml

A+B grow 1ml

PH:5.6 EC:1100

2) They went in the ROOTit cubes, where they left until the seed shell fell off and then placed in the Rockwool cubes(4cm).

We will let them sit on some coco and top up with our nutrients mix, up to 2cm of the Rockwool cube, to achieve the fastest time possible to get our first roots in the water.

large_All3.jpg

I placed the 2nd Jack47 straight into the bucket to test what diference it will make for the roots and the results was better than expected

I grabbed my pop corn and waited 3 more days while fixing, placing and testing the whole setup and gear.

large.jack47.jpglarge.jack47-2.jpglarge.Jack47-3.jpglarge.Dcream.jpglarge.Dcream-2.jpg

And the one in the bucket clearly left behind in root growth.

large.Jack47test.jpglarge.Jack47test-2.jpg

The room is dialed up and tested, we are stable at:

 Temperature: 29-32c.

We will run higher temps than the recommend for HPS/HID lights, LED lighting emitting no heat requires higher ambient  temps for the leaves to achieve the proper temperature for photosynthesis.

Air: 800-1500ppm

250-350ppm

Normal background concentration in outdoor ambient air

350-1,000ppm

Concentrations typical of occupied indoor spaces with good air exchange

1,000-2,000ppm

Complaints of drowsiness and poor air.

You can easily achieve your desire Co2 level FOR FREE, just by closing the windows and watching an episode.

Humidity: 35-45%

Nutrients solution: PH 5.6-6.3, Temperature 17-22c and EC will be on max dose after the plants show their sex (around 2500-3000).

nice start! gonna stick around for this me thinks :)

Thanks Alot, I'm going to place the girls in their buckets the next hours and make a proper photo/feed update.

It took me more time to find a way to upload photos than setup the tent...

Hard to do without close room setup.

The best way I found to raise RH is by taking a shower  :wassnnme:, that and the 10gal buckets.

If the 10gal of water is not enough to hit 55% RH at least I ll smell good.

ps: let's stalk your girls ...

Awesome job mate really makes my dirt seeds and lights look a little medieval :chains:

Will be watching with interest chap.

Best of luck in the comp you have a clean and clear way of doing things rather than "The Classic English Method"  I use which involves 10% growing 20% faffing around and 60% taking the piss out of yourself as you can't do arithmetic.

Good growing.

You all make me really happy with your kind words, now I have to take better photos to thank you .... give me some hours and I ll be back with the final setup and some good photo porn.

@Fragg

Bought most items from

ebay so prices was in green dollars :)

@rabthegrower @Green Squirrel

If they manage to keep the temps under 22c for 1 week, with one topping midway, it would be life safer... ice cold bottles was really trouble some, ineffective and also there was no room for my steaks in the freezer!

@Badbadger

my last grow was with soil, man, oh man,

spent  1-2 hours cleaning the room after feeding, ending to take more effort than DWC...

@lukio

Reading your grow caused my credit card a fear for the future, led glasses, maybe new Leds? Do you know the kindleds by any change?

WEEK 1/DAY 7

The girls are now resting inside the buckets, there is no roots touching the water just yet, but expecting them the next fiew hours. The Growth is steadily speeding up and the water temps went from 16 - 21c and stopped there for the last hours. (GOOD NEWS EVERYONE)

Nutrients:

In Each bucket(20L/5gal) with the order I added them.

CAL AND MAG+ 40ML

40ML  VOODOO JUICE

30ML  B52

RHINO 10ML

GROW A+B 40ML

FINAL PH/EC: 6.1 PH  AND UP TO 1000EC

WATER TEMP: 20-21C

Temps/Humidity/lighting

 27-30c and 40-45%  24/0

Now about the lighting I am thinking to let it be 24/0 since we are in a tight time limit.
