Nobody. Bob Odenkirk does John Wick (it's written by the same people). 80 minutes of action that fill the time entertainingly enough, but that you'll probably forget the minute the end titles are over.

Dune: Part 2.   Pretty fucking decent bit of movie making right there, difficult to put into words just how well put together everything is, especially the sound. A great experience. :yep:

Scoop lol  While not technically a comedy, it definitely made me laugh out loud a few times.

The Dark House. Pretty decent haunted house (sort of) movie, good creepy atmosphere and not over-reliant on jump scares. Nice to have an American supernatural horror that isn't about exorcism

Dark Waters was a solid recommendation. Thanks @Boojum  I'd not seen it before but it's definitely a story which needed to be told and is pretty flawlessly executed.

Knox Goes Away - A hitman diagnosed with an aggressive form of dementia has to tie up a few loose ends, it was kinda meh. Maybe I just expected too much given Michael Keaton's illustrious career, he both stars and directs.

Incidentally, I watched Beetlejuice last week and had a really good time, I hope the new one is good but after seeing an almost endless stream of shitty reboots I'm a bit worried Beetlejuice is about to get raped in the same manner as Indiana Jones.

Aye, me too, not least because (with a few exceptions) Tim Burton seems to have forgotten how to make a decent movie :sadwalk:  Dumbo, Dark Shadows, Alice in Wonderland, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, going back to Planet of the Apes, all utter self-indulgent garbage. Hope he rediscovers his early brilliance.

Just read that spike Lee is about to remake Kurosawa's High and Low with Denzel Washington. Hope it's better than his Oldboy remake.

Strikes me as utter hubris to remake a classic by one of the greatest directors in cinema history, widely considered one of the best police thrillers ever made, partiucularly after making such a pig's ear out of Oldboy, another great film  Spike Lee should have a word with himself.

Rebel Moon lol

(fitting following talk of remaking/ripping off Kurosawa)

Atrocious Star Wars fan fiction that also rips off The Seven Samurai (so it's kinda a Kurosawa ripoff squared, since Star Wars ripped off The Hidden Fortress lol ).

But still not as bad as the Star Wars prequels lol

It is a clone of Battle Beyond the Stars but I gave up halfway through Rebel Moon and watched Battle Beyond the Stars instead, Horner's score kinda elevates the whole experience and there was a lot of funny shit in that film that I had forgotten, like the guy who played Dr Silberman in Terminator showing up. lol

Coincidentally the second part was uploaded this morning, Rebel Moon Part Two The Scargiver.  Idk man, it was like watching a pastiche of loads of clichéd scenes and ideas from iconic movies (Star Wars, LoTR, Aliens, Star Wars, Terminator, BraveHeart, Matrix, Star Wars, Dollars Trilogy, Serenity, Dune, Star Wars, Saving Private Ryan, Star Wars, Battle Beyond the Stars, Game of Thrones, ad infinitum). The whole film is stuff that has been robbed from other movies and clumsily shoehorned to fit the narrative of this Battle Beyond the Stars  clone. lol

I couldn't help myself and shouted 'You always were an asshole, Gorman!' in one of the scenes. :lookaround:

I would say this film is like watching someone impersonate William Shatner singing Rocketman.
