:yep: i've been telling people this for years, i did it with foam and it did fuck all, took it all apart, thank fuck for cling film lol

 

the main noise issues are air movement and buzzing, it won't reduce the sound of air movement at all and if your fans buzzing it might catch fire!

no mate, the heat travels away with the air flow! it doesn't work any way lol

I just had to cough up for a Smscom Hybrid controller to quieten my 12 inch out, 10 inch in, (with diffuser) RVKs,in a 2x2x2.

I use my old (2004) 5 inch RVKs as push/pull on cool tubes, and they are silent when on the 'normal' Smscom fan controller, so going to use that, on the lights timer, to use the lamps as a heat scource for overnight flowering, which, as it happens, is very soon....
