I think some others done 6inch (150mm) fan and a 4inch (100mm) CF and then use a controller to turn the fan right down, but i never done mismatching myself so i can only repeat what i've seen from memory, sorry mate, Maybe someone else who is currently doing this can chime in and give you their experience with this menthod.
