Popular Post blackpoolbouncer
One minute your happily growing away in the spare centrally heated room and the next the countdown begins to move out. It was inevitable. A plan was already afoot and the move was anticipated so not so much forced but a practical solution. So I guess we start with the big move. Got my buddy down with his telehandler and we chucked that sucker on a trailer to move it 500m to its new home. Fuck dismantling it. I built it so I had faith although there was a few nerver racking moments over some rather difficult terrain to get to its new home. I seem to be missing the pictures of when I first opened the door but it was a bomb site. The last job the shed did was propagate seeds followed by rearing 125 pheasants and partridge so it was a right state day 1 clean up day 2 Insulate the roof so we don't get condensation. Expanding foamed all the joins My plan for underfloor heating is taking shape This gives me my 1.25 x 1.5 flower room which will be the main room Two 4 foot tube hetubes placed under where 2 rows of 3 pots will sit directly above them I didn't like the pallet idea.Dispite being a nearly sealed space the wod blocked a lot of heat and took up a lot of surface area So I came up with plan bThese trays fit exactly and as you will see a little later will be part of the passive intake with the air being heated as it goes down the two Charles and comes out of a little gap left along the left hand wall VEG area that will be two levels. Top level lit by an 8 tube 4 foot t5 where mothers and cuttings will go and a space underneath for young plants to be brought on ready for the big pot these are 2.5 foot x 5 foot which gives 25 square foot of veg area Active intake which will also be the exhaust for the smaller second flower room. Passive vent underneath it boxed offsupport for floor of second flower room Got big Bertha in 200mm gorilla box fantrying to open the shed door when it's running full tilt is like opening the door on an aircraft All boxed in revealing the smaller 80x 100 flower room for boys to do sexy time and breedingOne coat will probably do me. Great coverage And that's about where I'm at as of today. Just waiting for my friendly electrician to come and wire me back up this week and the big switch over can take place where I move the lights and plants over and at the same time butcher my 1.5 tent by removing the front panel and fixing that in't hole. I've also got an old 80 x80 tent which I'll be cutting the front panel from which conveniently solves door issues for both rooms. The whole shed is vented directly out of the box fan underneath which will be boxed in so it is essentially sat on a pocket of warm air. This will vent out to my polytunnel as recycled heating to keep tropical plants etc going all year. Heating for the shed will be from a 2500w 11 fin oil rad. Obviously a bit more to come so will be another update or two but we should hopefully have plants in and be up and running next weekend Peace out hombres Edited February 27, 2022 by blackpoolbouncer

Newcouch
thats epic, love the ducted undefloor heating. im a bit surprised the walls dont look insulated? especially the two outside ones of the flower room. anyhow, brilliant, inspiring. love the way you just pick the shed up. my shed obscures a manhole cover. whenever bt want access we hae to dismantle the whole thing.

Wood is actually quite a good insulator (15x better than concrete) and the shed walls are 2" cavity with sterling on the inside and battoned out t+g cladded. The walls aren't where much heat wil be lost as heat has a hard time crossing wood and an air gap. Plus I used to live in an old static caravan which had far less thermal efficiency than the shed walls and there was never an issue so I'm going out in a limb here and say it unnecessary in this scenario and would just be lost flower space. We've got 32amp supply coming in so between the 2500w oil rad and 500w of underfloor tube heaters I can't see heat being an issue. Thanks for the kind words everyone, thought seeing as I'd already taken pics it was worth sharing if only for ideas for others. Just been back to look at my handyworkcwith a paintbrush. Looked stellar last night paining in the dim light..........one coat yer right.

It's Leyland high opacity vinyl matt emulsion. Tbf it's not made a bad job for one coat. But I only the patchy paint will do my tree in so another coat it is. Second coats never as bad.
Exhale
@blackpoolbouncer tidy job buddy, can see why you've been quiet now. The master plan takes shape! Lovely space to escape to. You know once that shed is done she'll have you painting that spare room And then comes baby making time you'll be sick of hammering and screwing and thankful for a preganancy confirmation unless you've already hit that nail on the head?
blackpoolbouncer
Already put me hammer down mate, nearly wore the head off me shaft in the run up to Xmas @Exhale And yes.....said spare room wil be the next thing to be painted in preparation for the fruits of all that hammering and screwing........after I've repaired the fuck off holes in the ceiling Edited February 28, 2022 by blackpoolbouncer
badbillybob
great stuff, i love a shed build. i thought the same as you, that it would be fine with the OSB inside and cladding outside being enouugh. i also addded a vapour barrier between the frame and outside cladding, but it was cold during lights off. i spent a fortune heating it with 2kw fan heater aimed directly at the intake fan, it was as dear as having the lights on 24 hrs.. to do it properly (and expensively) i would insulate under the floorboards and walls if i was to do it again But you should be fine, with the big oil fillled rad and tube heaters. And also, presumably having the veg area providing some heat its taking shape nicely, can i ask what your planning for the access doors to the grow area? sliders or opener uppers?
