Slippy One
@OpenairbudThat's a great setup, yep drip (danish hydro) trays make life easy if you're a coco grower and like a 30-50% runoff to reduce salt buildup. Swapping the extract for AC Infinity/ Controller67 will make the variac obsolete, freeing up more space for plants! Let me know if you have any trouble finding drain plugs etc. @murphyblueAnother great space, quality details, love the grommet on the power cord. Can't help but think it's crying out for a few extra USB fans on bungies. Please share your pics, fellow cupboarders.
murphyblue
Mate i was a bit paranoid about airflow so there's 4x120mm 12v pc fans in there altogether small usb fan in veg cab and a 5" circulation fan in the flower cab. Upgrades soon as i can afford it will be new fan and filter and a new light to replace the strip and MH i have in the flower cab. Crow River
Great thread, certainly some inspiration here for future upgrades. I'm wondering about light leaks at the front of that beautiful cabinet @Slippy One. It's an issue I haven't quite solved on the front doors of my wee cabinet. Ended up using a sheet of mylar velcro'ed to each side like a curtain to block it out. How robust will your wee overlapping strips prove to be?
Slippy One
@Crow Riverit’s not 100% in a pitch black room, I find the drawers have a few pinholes and my patented Mylar flap system isn’t perfect either, but no shine from the intakes and outtakes, no shine from the front during the day or room lights on, and only in a dark room can the pinholes and microslits be seen. Definitely do what ya gotta do to stop leaks, Velcro curtains, Mylar overlaps, draft excluder strip..wood isn’t straight like metal so there’s always gonna be pinholes but you’ll get there, besides, what’s the odds of a policeman being in the room in pitch dark?
Slippy One
Don’t forget lightproof intakes. Essential for cupboarding!
BilgePump
Could lightproof flaps not be made incorporating a weak magnetic strip? Similar to the ones that hold shower doors together. Just a thought. Loving this thread!
Openairbud
Not so bothered about police seeing light cos as you said it would be quite rare they would be in my garage in the pitch black , I'm more worried about light leaks causing a herm situation with the tiny gaps. Had a couple Nana's on my last grow, I can't guarantee it was light leaks that caused it but you never know!
Slippy One
Cabinet so good and stealthy that I'm most likely giving up outdoor growing completely until laws change, petrol prices stop sucking arabs cock at our expense and I have an offical grow license (basically never). Until then, it's just an ordinary linen cabinet officer.

mikeydoughnut
Nice thread @Slippy One definitely some inspiration to be garnered like. Ive got a matching wardrobe n drawers that I keep looking at. Surplus to requirements but solid as fuck. Too good to give away or bin. They were a good few hundred quid each. Although I love growing im sick of being an obvious grower. It’s a shitter having the house on lockdown. I’ve currently got 4 tents up (only coz I’m drying and flowering a male). Think I’m gonna seriously consider setting up the furniture to grow in especially given the rise in October and another one expected in January possibly. I’ll take some pictures when I get home and pester yer to see how you’d attack it perhaps? Edited June 9, 2022 by mikeydoughnut
Slippy One
@mikeydoughnutgo for it! Don’t forget, it’s just an ordinary piece of furniture, officers..And there’s always a spare cupboard in the kitchen for bonsai mums/propagation duties. wardrobe is way taller than my linen cupboard so you could get 2 levels inside..

yabbah
Gonna add one to this thread. Was guided along the way largely by @Slippy One For light-proofing, i've found that using the felt side of self adhesive velcro in the gaps worked best.
