Cupboard porn

Slippy One

Recommended Posts

Hi cupboard heads, a few upgrades to my old bonsai cupboard, and the new, 50's style linen cabinet performing the flowering duties.

It's all a bit too much wood in 1 corner looking at the pics so they'll be seperated. They don't share any extraction etc.

Next upgrade is to paint the outsides, and the bonsai cupboard will get the kitchen island facelift. After upgrading her to wheels I figure what the hell, it's all about stealth, right? :yep:

Upgrades to the cupboards and all other equipment used are:

120mm loackable castors

danish hydro trays (they can be extended or reduced with saw and glue, perfect 'medusa tray' drain tray means plants will never sit in runoff. Ever.)

deck drain socket for danish trays

secret jardin DF16 light baffle (150mm, no light (or bugs) in or out - layers should be cleaned every 6 months)

Inkbird ITC308

2x 600x400mm plant!t heat mat (30w)

Orginal Scope150 old skool @Ledgrowlights-Adam

Highlight 420 (grow lights Australia) multi spectrum flowering light, thanks again Adam :D

AC Infinity 4" with controller67

Various USB fans

TAPO wifi spy cam

mini bungies galore

Meross 4 way smart strip for all the light timings and USB fans (on 24/7)

Just an old cupoard:

Rear view, light baffles mean zero light escapes.

Upstairs downstairs:

New bonsai's with Tapo wifi spy cam, remote monitoring at its best, it will even notify if the door is opened! :yep:

Even canopy in the linen box!  large.IMG-0284.JPG

Enjoy the cupboard porn, any questions or tips just ask, it's an evolving project. Big shout to all cupboarders out there, nothing beats it! :afro:

Is there any companies which sell ready to go kits that come as cupboards or every day type objects so it all is kinda hidden better than say a tent? Just curious. That looks proper nice little set up that

Great build there slippy!

Looks the Bollox, quality craftsmanship and quality components. Them cupboards will see you right for many years to come no doubt!

Big ups and thanks for sharing :yinyang:

There was a couple of companies making them @stummer

Years back I looked so I forget the names. @Arthur Mix might remember one of them I think?

As I recall one was quite stealthy and resembled a double wardrobe. The other looked more like a metal tool cupboard or locker kinda thing. Would have been fine in a garage or utility room but would've raised questions if you plonked it in your living room like.

And as with all "ready made" packages the internal components were either low quality, poorly matched or suited and certainly didn't represent value for money where the price was considered.

Nothing like the slippys shown above.

@Slippy One probably a stupid question, but are they completely light proof from the outside during lights on?  Any tell tale light leaks or are they completely sealed??

I've tried to make a couple of "inconspicuous cupboards" and it's the light proofing that always screw me aye

Thinking something like that program where the bird’s at the local waste disposal place on the tele. Asks people to take what they are binning. Ends up turning it into something bit more useful. Recycle other people’s waste n turn it into grow set ups. Little tidy green business. Won’t get rich but just thought might be a market for it.

I thought about it as well before i replaced my old tent , now use a 4ft by 2ft, I'v seen small ones big enough for 1 plant and made of metal like you would use for tools in a garage and that was about 700 quid , i'd just do what slippy has done , any bigger and like stu said it can be thousands.

who's up for a walk-in wardrobe grow? lol

i'm being semi serious, when my current tent pops it's clogs i want to make an insulated groom, and this has given me the idea to make a big "fitted wardrobe units" looking one, the extraction is in the perfect place already, just takes a bit of imagination and convincing doors!

Not that I've ever seen, or really expensive if good. Best to build your own. I did look at metal filing cabinets but who uses them these days? :yep:

I mean, I'll take anyone down the steps I made, plenty of cabinets on Gumtree in your neighbourhood. There's some cool products out there and this flowering cabinet only took 2 days of lazy afternoon drilling and screwing. Another bonus with wood is that you can put small crews anywhere you like. That 50's cabinet cost me £30. :yep:

^^ This!! It's the holy grail of shed/garage stealth and was part of the inspiration for me. There's another box a Scottish dude built that inspired me, forgot his username but it's the cabinet with the RVK sticking out the top and homemade light baffle. All inspirational. My old ikea cabinet fooled a police visit in the same room!

Stealth stealth and more stealth. Tents are too obvious. :innocent:
