Resonance
This grow system looks like it's powered by alien technology, at the very least you must have access to top secret schematics, Surely!
Punta Roja
@Resonance It started with me thinking about a first floor bog being flushed and drawing air down via the stench pipe. I mistakenly called it induced siphonage, it's not, it's the Venturi effect. So after studying Venturi and Bernoulli and Youtube I came up with PR's "Venturi Jet" aeration system. A.K.A. The "Venjet". I am not claiming to have invented anything new by the way. This technology has been around for centuries. Just hope it bloody works... Punta Roja
Disappointingly it won't be tonight. The connector has arrived But I've realised that to get the last return pipe in I've got to dismantle the returns... they need connecting two at a time.
Shumroom
Great tension building diary. ...... Is coming Just think how pleased you'll be once it's all up and running. Atb
Punta Roja
Test run. No leaks Not enough back pressure for eight feed outlets... or four... two seem to be doing alright now. 120l to fill to line. @zen-ken You're right, a bigger pump would be better. @badbillybob Venturi's working, not too noisy, can't hear it from the garden. Going to flush with H2O2 and give it a good scrub, then a res change (first one) and get them babies in. Might have a swallow later. ATVB PR E2A: Just noticed the far reds... Punta Roja
After an agonising wait for the tank connectors and a few issues to deal with I present: The "Venjet" MK 1. @badbillybob you were right about the roots... I'm happily surprised. PH 5.8 EC 1.0 (Background is 0.4) Ionic grow 0.5ml/l Silicon 0.5ml/l CalMag Water temp 16c but that will rise. Air temp 24c Coated the roots in Rootgrow hydro mycorrhizal fungi and beneficial bacteria. Light is at 14" Nutes just tickling the bottom of the pot. @Shumroom You bet mate, at last, at last... at... last. ATB PR E2A: 27 minutes to empty via discharge pipe... 18 minutes to fill with 12 x 10l buckets and approx 240m travelled to ferry buckets... badbillybob
Houston, we have lift off........ its always good to get a decent set of roots down before putting them in the system lol. now prepare yourself for massive growth. keep an eye on the ph etc, not sure how those pebbles will react , but hopefully after a day or 2 it will stabilise. the ph will undoubtedly go up overnight so dont worry, its just the release of the CO2 from the tap water through oxygenation. id be topping them soon, if they were mine.......but theyre not. Its good to see it up and running, mon the massive growth spurt!!
