DIY LED Strip build 350w

Recommended Posts

I will have to read through this properly later as most the strips i can see mentioned are really crap.

M, V, Influx,Q, Lt. All terrible strips unless you underdrive them, but then you will be better with EBS.

@diyleduk

My order hasn't been shipped yet, are the Sl-b8v7n90l1ww strips that bad?

If so I might still be able to cancel the order.

If it's too late I will give them a try anyway, I could always stick them on ebay and get my money back.

Thx for chipping in on the thread

These are the ones id go for  SL-B8V4N90LAWW.

The influx range are the old range, if you underdrive the one you have and get a great price then they will be ok, but at 1st glance the price is the same as the much better version.

Use "octopart" to find the best price.

Also google "samsung engine calculator"

Its an extremely usefull tool for working out the electrical and efficiency and also making various comparisons.

Just as an example. Say you get 20 of the old strips at the same price as 10 of the new ones. You can work out which one actually gets you the most output for the money by inputting all the data.

I got them for £8 each inc shipping and VAT, so going to give them a try.

I was planning on running them low or underdriven as you said.

While i wait for delivery it will give me lots of time to read up on LED's and try and learn what i need to do lol.

Thx again mate

Sounds like a case of the old adage...

If it sounds too good to be true.. it probably is! lol

Ahh well I ordered them now, if nothing else it will let me learn how to diy/assemble the things myself.

Would they work better if we add some of them red supplement strips you stock Adam?

Well my £5.22 shit strips are on there way lol. No way was I cancelling lol. AS DIY said if you drive these soft aka use less amps then they might be a good deal (He didn't realise that they were a fifth of the price at that point imho.

Anyway happy building chaps.

Mine are on the way too.

If they don't work out it ain't the end of the world at the price I paid.

Worse case scenario I'll install them around the house, in shed etc, bound to be some uses for them.

I'm still quite hopeful we can make em work though...

Google the part number mate. You will find another thread where pictures of full budded stuff grown under these. Its another canna forum so not stealing their pics nor linking lol....But yeah the google search will find you the thread i got the idea from.

These are not as good as strips that currently cost £25 each....they are much better than strips that cost £5 each though.
