jadenugs
@MacGanja I've often thought of suspending some clear poly over the plants high enough to allow airflow underneath. Would be too high though and be seen. Plus the flying piglet is always about round these parts Cheers dude, I managed to salvage some but not as mature as I'd hoped for. Not a problem though as I don't rely on my outdoor stuff. More for the fun and excitement really. I feel sorry for the lads that only grow outdoors for their yearly stash and get hit by rot. Fucking nightmare. 18 hours ago, Dinafem-Mark said: The only thing you can do it keep a close eye on things and push them as long as possible before more rot hits I tried that mate but they still had to come down early in the end. Such is life. At least I've got some Bubba to smoke though so happy enough. Tried a bit and it still packs a punch for early bud
jadenugs
5th Aug day 85 I returned 3 days after the last visit and cropped the rest of the Dinafems. They'd held out ok but there was more rot appearing so, ready or not, they had to come down. Bubba Kush auto#1 Looks ok in the pic but rot was appearing between the stems and buds in a few places. A few pics of her tops before she came down. All fans were removed and she was rough trimmed on site leaving enough leaf to try and slow down drying in my attic, but short cropped enough to allow air in and prevent further rot while drying. Drying is also a pain for me at this time of year as ambient attic temps were 27.7C and 25C in the tent with extractor and intake running. Bubba Kush auto#2 #1 was a little bit further on than this one but both could have done with another week or two to fully ripen and fill out. Trichs were milky though so better early weed than no weed Some tops before the chop. After being hit by rot I would normally cut the buds from the stalks for a really quick dry but I knew what the attic environment would be like so I left them on short stalks to try and slow them a little. Next update will be dry budshots and a smoke report after a good cure.
Smelly Cat
Shame about the rot, at least there's something salvageable. Nice big autos, have to give them a go one year.
MacGanja
Glad to see you salvaged something mate.... Think you made the right decision with the BK.... Autos have got hammered this year.... PermanentWaves
Glad you’ve managed to save some buds, @jadenugs - I had to harvest my auto a week earlier as well as I spotted the first signs of mould but, as you, say, it’s better to have some than lose the lot. Yours look great! Look forward to the smoke reports

It was either crop out and salvage something or let the dreaded botrot savage the lot The right decision made mate Been a funny season to say the least All the best Mark.. badbillybob
Quote yes, at least you got some bud. # As for the rot, well, mate, I feel your pain, im sure loads of people have suffered with the same fate, it was just a crap summer for growing I guess.

jadenugs
23rd Aug day 102 I returned to the plot on 23rd and chopped the remains of the Bubba Kush auto#3. After chopping the main body of BK 1 and 2 on my previous update, I'd left a small amount of lower buds on them to see if they'd finish up and I'd also left the Blue Kush out to see if that would fatten up any. Bubba Kush auto#1 Here's what was left. Buds. Bubba Kush auto#2 What was left of the plant. Buds. Bubba Kush auto#3 Hardly any bud at all on this plant, mostly leaf but enough resin to harvest for the hash pile. Nothing much to show but pretty colours so I took some pics. As mentioned in my HSO diary my diaries are warts and all from start to finish, so in a bad season the least I can do is try and take some decent pics to make up for the lack of bud Buds/leaf. Blue Kush auto Not as bad as the BK3 but still very leafy and not much bud. She was left out for a further week. Buds. As mentioned, the Blue Kush was left for another week and also the remains of BK 1 and 2. Thanks for looking

jadenugs
@Kipper420 Cheers bud. Not the best of seasons but I've tried to make the most of it with multiple harvests in stages

jadenugs
30th Aug day 109 I returned on the 30th and salvaged the remains of Bubba Kush autos 1 and 2 and what was left of the Blue Kush. They've been drying for 12 days and I've trimmed and jarred BK#1 last night after 11 days. There wasn't much bud left after all the leaf was trimmed off so most of it has gone in the hash pile. I've yet to trim BK#2 but it will be the same. With the Blue Kush there are no decent buds at all, even from the main part of the plant that I chopped previous. I just don't think it's had enough sunlight throughout the season to form proper buds. I thought I'd still include the pics for a warts n all end to the growing part of the diary. At least the trichomes on the small buds will contribute to a ball of hash Can't say I haven't tried Bubba Kush auto#1 Buds. Bubba Kush auto#2 Buds. Blue Kush auto Buds. Well that sums up the growing part of the diary. Not the best results this season by far, but still a good experience. I could do autos earlier next time, or even later but it's always guess work in our climate for when the rains will come I think I'm going back to photoperiods next year at this plot, hopefully the willow trees I've planted will give me more cover into the autumn when the nettles and brambles start dying down. Next update will be some bud shots and smoke reports when the time comes. Thanks for watching

It sure has been an experience this year brother, not the best season all around but we've still seen a few decent harvest As I said many times in 2017 theirs always next year and 2018 was a banger. So let's hope mother nature plays ball next season On 11/09/2019 at 3:46 PM, jadenugs said: Next update will be some bud shots and smoke reports when the time comes.
