I know what im reading later this week when I find a copy :yep:

The Great Books of Hashish - Laurence Cherniak - Laurence ...

Is this what im looking for ?

Yes. This is the one I have. I think there maybe another? My all time favourite Hashish is Lebanon. Gold, blonde or red the taste was exquisite. I used to buy cloth wrapped 9 oz blocks. The muslin cloth was made into a tea. Oh the joy of soft, crumbly sweet Lebanese. I also recall some excellent Turkish hash. Similar in colour to leb but a touch harder. Getting into smoking in the 70's was such fun ?? Thanks Mr Marks

If I don't have my own stock I buy hashish on the dark net as I hate badly grown weed. My ex was Spanish form the South and all they smoke is Moroccan hash. Had some charas a few years ago, gave a bit to the old boy in the local hydro shop he said it was the best stuff he smoked since the 80s. Super sticky almost gooey with a strong citrus smell, knocked you for 6. Tasted incredible in my pipe and would only need to smoke the tiniest bit.

The red seals of the 70's generally came from Pakistan. The Hindu Kush region. All Hashish from the sub continent are dark brown or black. Afghani was generally hard and a little harsh but tasty nonetheless. Nepalese is wonderful as is the Hash from the Parvati Valley in India. I spent a month in Manali back in the 90's and the cream there was beyond wonderful. If you want a bit of light reading on all the Hashish that is produced then try and find The Great Books of Hashish which is totally enthralling read with Hash Porn pictures to boot

takes me back reading this ,, red seal gold seal even yellow an green seal i can remember  when they come with names with emblems   stamped on them to,  shirak  is one i recall think it had a star stamped on it to ,,,the best imported we had   came from  india /himalaya  and they called it charas  the guy i used to get it off rated the manali cream  as his fav,,had some wonderful finger an bubble hash in uk to  i remember a friend grew some blueberry was nice an sticky but  not all that great but the hash made from it had all the qualities we were hoping for off the weed all the flavours an beutiful effects came thru

It is what the Indians call Hashish. When we stayed in a little guest house in Old Manali, the man who ran it rubbed his own every season and sold it to supplement his income. Not bad at £5 for 10g of sublime 100% Charas. We stayed a month and we could have stayed forever

Soviet invasion of Afghanistan allowed good hash to be be supplied to the UK, funding the anti Soviet stance. Thought the troops would have supplied us with some good stuff in the name of peace when they where there but been let down by the government once again.:bong:

All we got was that medical smack( tramadol and other crap) that's ruining lives as doctor hand it out like sweets. Don't get me on how the they throw anti depressants at people. Stoners lift the life of people around them, not saying hash should be legal but we don't need that dog shit stuff.

Plus paying top bucks to these hash producing countries help them help themselves.

Was Afghan stuff we got was good, stunk more than weed that I've seen today. The cling film used to go brown with all the good oils,  heating it for joints was enough to get you stoned if you where in an enclosed space. Basically stopped after the first bit of bad stuff from the   !!!!.

Howard must have had a good run on that nordle.

Red seal and gold seal. In the 70s and 80s they were lovely hashes.

In the 90s, every cowboy began to add various substances to the hash.

I love my hash, but its rare you see much on the street. Expensive when bought on the net.

while we are on the subject, does anyone remember buying oil in the 80's mid 80s?

it used to come in a thin plastic straw, about the size of the ink tube in a bic pen?

used to heat it up and smear it on a skin?

I remember how fucked up we used to get on it, it was deadly!

happy memories indeed.

Whats the one that you used to roll into long thin sausages in joints? We called it squidgy black it smelled really different to solids.

We used to do shotties and bongs by the river (bong water), this piss head punk turned up and we offered him a bong and he thought it was alcohol so decided to drink it instead!

Another time my mate was helping another to light the bong and as he was sucking it must have started to hit his throat and he coughed into the bong, blowing hot rocks all over my friends tracksuit.

@badbillybob yes the oil was good stuff, mind making a joint and getting that good a buzz that I just smoked it all before I had a chance to pass it.
