We did some hot knives recently just for shits and giggles....broke a milk bottle (heated on the gas and pushed off) and put a wet cloth over the top.

I gave up on hot knives after trying with weed about 10-15 years ago, it burst into flames and burnt me lungs lol few years before my mate was lucky not to lose a eye using plated knives, a red hot bit pinged off into his eye. Dangerous business getting high back in the day lol

golf ball was another decient old school hash. I heard all that ended and became soapbar in the mid 90s due to British gangsters living in Spain started control the imports. Greedy fuckers..

That looks familiar, well, the title .I'm not certain but I think it's a very very quick read .See can you read it online first perhaps .

I'm guessing you'd have to be at least forty and a bit ,years of age to remember nice hash on the market, from various sources around the world . I love hearing the stories ,and knowing so much of it was bulked up with henna ,and silt ,rubber etc .

It's a crying shame the laws facilitate the criminals that benefited from pedalling soap bar ,fake hash and shit square slabs. All my memories are of shifty fellas and bad reputation .Haven't come across nice hash locally ,except for my own little piece of bubble now and then .

Fifteen years ago it was easy find nice imported hash in Holland but there's less locations on the menus now .I bought some OK Moroccan hash in Spain for a good price. I see folks online ,and in the UK have the same stuff . Online newspapers with articles about seizures are showing pics of soap bars .I wonder if it's still the same rock hard brick .I'd love to see a test on them for purity /adulterants.

@Michael Luchóg you are bang on my friend ..A little over forty.....well closer to 40 than 50 anyway lol lol lol

Soapbar is what got me smoking weed.....just went all shite around 93/94 round our way (My god...have just realised thats 25 years ago :oldtoker: :oldtoker:)....before that we got great black and squidgy

We used to see solid in packages that were cylindrical....I was told that we wouldn't see these anymore as they were worth more mixed with henna and whatever other shit they could find to throw in it.

Making one bar into four.

Reading what you and other members have said he wasn't b@llshitting me and im glad I found a great gardener to buy green from not long after......man i wish he still grew

He was a master of the dirt.  He did this jack Herer that tasted of blackcurrant and a blueberry that tasted so good if I close my eyes I can still remember the smile I had my face after the first toke.

i grew up smoking all the nice hash in the early 90's too. im into my 40s now

the best ever hash i had was this stuff of a asian dealer i new in the 90's. it was about 1993, it was a big lump of pure skuff pollen, stuck together, not like red seal back, it was golden in color.

and you would just squeeze it in the bag and it would just break up proper fluffy like. pure golden colored trichs. and the smell/ smoke taste was amazing. so was the buzz/ high.

ive never seen that hash since anywhere like that. i tried the dam a few times looking. it was just homemade skuff in the dam from hybrids.

anyone else smoked it ? or remember it ? i know there was loads of it about, over a few weeks, but it never came about again. rocks of pure golden resin it was, was real fluffy, not fully compressed. the buzz had a high to it, then a couchlock buzz after. ahh i remember that summer well smoking that nectar. :yinyang:

bloody hell this thread has  dumped me down memory lane .....

i can remember in cornwall in a fishing port  we used to smoke black  which was a hard , very dark lump you had to burn and crumble ....  then there was  leb ....  this was a golden amber colour  that was  softer and  could be crumbled in the fingers  ....  we used to get stuff called  sea black ... fishermen used to bring it in    ............  lumps of it the size of loaves of bread  ...and youd have to cut the middle bit out to get some smoke .... used to be given blocks  and blocks of it ...then used it  doing hotknives  over a gas ring cooker  or by  doing a bucket ..... lol.... ahhhh   happy days

Old fart recollection :  mid 70's - early 80's . Pakistani red seal . Around 6 quid a quarter . Bland numbing stone . Clear seal , similar stone , variable quality . Gold stamp black Afghani . The grand cru . 8 quid a quarter and superior quality .  Come the 90's , quality rapidly went downhill . Have smoked the odd purchase of overpriced  ' black ' in Amsty over the proceeding years but wouldn't bother with anything offered in the UK . Adulterated border hash , at best .

@nl5 yes you are right (about it being controlled in Spain) i know one of the old chaps that was a part of it.. He shown his face again this year after a very long time... Slate or solid we called it in the end had very little hash in it! Big concrete mixers with a fire built under it and a bit of everything chucked in... Plastic and sand was the bulking mix...

in the last couple of days my mind has turned to thinking about Red Seal, then i saw a post mentioning it too so i thought i'd start a thread / conversation

used to get  it in the early 90's perfect for that post rave come down, lovely soft squishy heavy hitting, bits of red plastic in there, you could roll it into a thin snake and lay it on top of the tobacco when it was windy, pinch out little bits if you didn't have a lighter

used to love the effect of that stuff nice and couch locky heavy stone

there was also the next grade up allegedly gold seal never got any of that but it was supposed o be even better and softer

don't really buy anything anymore but wondered if it was still around

where did it come from ?

what strain would it have been ?

don't really remember too much about tastes or flavours just that is was  nice nice hash / smoke

Awesome thread mate used to love the hashes from paki n afghanistan, I remember the blonde lebs wrapped in muslin bags and being 1/2 the price of the red leb and your average marocs Also Infact compresed thais and african herb was more expensive than the hashes.

the red seal hash was wrapped in a red plastic protective wrapper and really shouldnt have bits of plastic actually in it, The bits we saw like this had been grated up and  mixed with adulterant and then  re pressed,

Not saying yours was like this but by the early 90s lots of hash imports were being stretched out to meet the needs of the ever increasing market of all the new pot smoking ravers.
